Went to grab a few things, had to use self check out as nobody working was running registers expect for the one that was backed up. went to self check out #12 and got the dreaded "needs an associate" alarm. Before i know it a large male employee came from the shopping side of the registers, put his hands on my cart and continued to push the cart into my girlfriend in order to push her out of the way to get to the register. Totally unacceptable. when i called to speak to a manger i not only sat on hold for 10 minutes but got told by "Jen" the manager she would not give me the name of the gentleman that did this as she is going to protect her employees! Tried to buy one pound of meat today. ONE POUND! Two small steaks 4oz each) individually wrapped, and 1/2 lf ground beef. I'm not emptying the shelves by any means. Got to check out and was told I was only allowed "2 packages" of meat. Mind you, 2 10poind packages were fine. Just not allowed to buy ONE POUND if wrapped in separate plastic wrap. I even spoke to the manager who get this was a totally reasonable limitation and I should have bought 20# in 2 10# packages instead. No rhyme or reason. I cannot even feed a family of 3 one meal because of this asinine poorly thought out BS. If the manager had at least acknowledged that it was irrational, and he would pass it on, I would be fine. He did not. He explained how somehow when there are meat plants closed it's fine to tell someone they can't have 1 pond but 20is ok. That's their "rationing" policy. read more

Sadly, I am seeking out a different grocery store to be my staple store because the prices are not as good as they used to be, the produce often spoils quickly at home. And most annoying recently... that stupid robot! GET RID of that ROBOT that you've wasted OUR MONEY ON! Customers want people to staff their grocery store, NOT self-checkout and ROBOT'S CREEPING around the store! Store #0726 Let me start by saying I want the best things for Stop & Shop. I want them to be successful and continue to be an asset to the neighborhood. That said, the topping on my Pizza is all gathered on one side, My butter shows signs of having been melted on top, My ice cream has ice crystals from having been thawed and refrozen. I have complained in the past about careless handling of frozen foods in your store and things were better for a while but it seems they are slipping back to their old habits. It's a stop and shop but a good one. Huge selection of stuff which is what you want in a stop and shop. Great product department with lots of neat veggies. One of the first stores in the area to have the scan as you shop thing. The difference is that in this store they actually work. Some of the staff are kinda snotty but that's to be expected. A good place to buy things to fill up the fridge. read more

I have been going to this market for 30+ years (back when it was across the street!) because it is the closest one to my house. The reason for such a low rating? First off, stay out of the bathrooms. Honestly it's embarrassing how smelly, dirty, and just plain disgusting they are. Next the floors are always dirty, the entrances are never vacuumed or swept, and the parking lot is littered with trash. The produce goes bad much quicker than Dave's and other competitors produce does. Oh and the self scanners station NEVER has any bags. We do all the work, scanning out own food but have to walk half way across the store to get bags first. Why wouldn't you make it easier? Many of these things have been brought to the attention of management before, but apparently they don't care because nothing ever changes. I will NOT buy anything from their deli, meat area, or seafood area because if they have this much trouble keeping the area's of the store that customers see and use clean, one can only imagine how disgusting the other area's are! I will still shop here occasionally, but more and more of my business goes to competitors. It would be nice to see the management and staff take a little more pride in their store. read more

I didn't realize you could review Stop and Shops. Learn somethin' new every day... I'm shocked at the amount of negative reviews. I am at this store (at least) 3x a week and I usually go mid morning. I have NEVER found little to no carts in the store, unless it's a big game weekend or a major holiday. In fact, the cart wrangler (is that what they're called?) is ALWAYS out there collecting the carts as they are left in the lot. He is very efficient. The employees are warm and welcoming. Kim and Julie in the front end are very friendly. As are Rhonda and Karen in self scan. In each department (except for florist, I don't visit there much. Not that it's bad, I just have no need to go in there) there is a friendly associate ready to assist or answer questions. Maybe it's the time of day that I go, but I really have never had a complaint about the customer service in this store... The clientele on the other hand... read more

Okay this is my primary market but I have a gripe. Please plow your parking lot. Parking spaces are crammed in from dangerously high snow banks and ice patches causing tetris like parking experiences. In some areas there is only one way out and people are still leaving their carts strewn within the lot. It makes for some tough driving and parking conditions. The extremely high snow piles are also creating a hazard for pedestrians and drivers. I know there is a lot of snow but it does not seem like it has been plowed in the most effective manner. While visiting my son we stopped into this bigger than big super market for groceries we needed for meals we were asked to make. It was a few days before christmas so this store was rocking. We eventually found everything we needed, no thanks to the signs because items were not where the signs said they were. I bought a package of hamburger to make swedish meatballs, and when I went to use the meat the next day it had all turned brown. Yuck ! They seemed to have a decent produce department, quite big actually. Didn't see any employees in the aisles to help us find things. Oh and on the way out, they have a bank in the store, and the line of people waiting in line made getting out of the store a little difficult. Now granted it was a few days before Christmas so they were probably unusually busy which would account for some of the issues I encountered. Don't go to this Stop & Shop if it is Busy!!! 30 minuets to checkout with two people in front of me! They had a trainee checking people out on a busy Father's Day Sunday and she was clueless. The girl that was bagging had to keep giving here the codes for produce and other stuff. She kept telling her to take her time. Let me tell ya, this store gets worse & worse. Most times I go there, I wished I'd had the time to go to Shaws on the other end of Warwick Ave. Though Shaws may run out of sale items quick, it's WAY WAY BETTER than Stop & Shop ever could be, or ever will be. (Unless Shaws buys them out) When COVID first started and everyone was told to wear masks, wear masks, I saw a Stop & Shop employee walking around without one, when even his co-workers and responsible customers made sure to. Twice, it was the same guy ( dressed like a manager) But today really got to me. I needed a few things before my wife & I headed home, so I stopped at the stop & shop across from Quinn Funeral home. I went in as my wife waited in the car. She was sick with the sweats & a bad headache. She asked me to leave car running & the A/C on while I went in. Finished & going to the registers, I looked and saw only two registers open with cashiers. One had a line going down the aisle, and the other only had 4 or 5 people in it, but they all had over-full carriages. I only had 7 things, 4 of which were sale items, but then I realized that I didn't have my Stop & Shop card with me because it was on my keychain in the car. So knowing there is an attendant there, I went in where the self check out is but she wasn't there. I figured I'd just wait for the attendant. I waited & waited. I then stood on my tippy toes looking around for her, then I noticed her over to the service desk walking back & forth in front it, talking to the girl behind it. So I waited. Then I noticed her doing a one handed text on her phone. But I waited. Then the service desk girl must have got busy, because she walked out of view. But instead of the checkout girl returning to the self checkout where she is supposed to be helping people , she leaned against the wall still doing something on her phone. That's when I said "The h-ll with this" and walked out leaving my carriage. I went out to the car to leave and my wife asked where the things were, I told her about it and she said just go back. So I grabbed my keys & went back in. I got in and noticed the girl was back at the self checkout now, but she taking my carriage away. I told her it was mine & that I had been waiting for her but couldn't wait anymore. THEN .......... She lied and said she was busy with a customer. That's when I lost it. And in a very loud voice I told her NO YOU WEREN'T WITH A CUSTOMER, YOU WERE UP AT THE GODDAMN SERVICE DESK ON YOUR PHONE, ARE YOU KIDDING, I STOOD RIGHT HERE WATCHING YOU. That's when some moron stuck his nose in & told me to take it down a notch. Here I was just outright lied to by this girl, and when she was caught with her foot in her mouth, her knight in shining armour came to her aid to reflect the attention away from her. That's when I told that scumbag to mind his own F'N business. That if they can't do there job without a phone in their hands then to give it up. What happened?? I have been coming to this Stop & Shop for almost 10 years and never had a complaint. In the past year this store has gone downhill fast! In the past few months shelves are consistently empty, staff ambles about aimlessly and unapologetically, only half of the check out lines seem to be open at any given time causing massive lines and delays, produce quality is what one would expect shopping in Alaska, the bakery shelves are pathetically stocked, the scales in the produce department are never functional, and prices have gone through the roof- higher then competition. What was once a convenient place to shop has become a massive headache. Get it together management! read more

The pharmacy @ 2470 Warwick Ave is a joke. After a year of not having monthly prescriptions filled properly (never ready only 1/2 number of prescriptions filled). I finally switched to a regular pharmacy at less cost. Don't use this Stop & Shop pharmacy. read more

Stop and Shop never fails me. They have a good selection from produce to deli and meat. They offer a good sale every once and awhile too. I'm pretty sure they double coupons but since I am a sucker I don't ever remember to use any. My favorite part of this store is the ability to scan and bag your groceries as you shop and then being able to fly right through self check out. This is the quickest way to shop and you can deal with the least amount of people which is my goal when I go to the store. Also stop and shop has a great gas points program where you can get 10, 20 cents or even more off of the price of gas at local shells and stop and shop gas stations. read more

Service here is non-existent or extremely poor at best. From the cashiers to the stock boys to those who are supposed to help you at the automated cashiers -- all have a condescending attitude that perplexes me. Are these morons so ignorant and stupid not to think that they are in their dead-end jobs because of people like me who continue to shop here out of convenience and not because of their total lack of service?! They should be kissing my ass every time I enter this Stop and Shop for all the money I spend here so they could be paid their hourly wages. So don't give me any attitude and give me proper service. This stop n shop doesn't care if you like your food separated from meat and breads separate or use your card like they are suppose to at all transaction. The cashiers and baggers do not care how they handle your food they just throw the items in bags don't care what is in the bags and management don't care neither oh we will give you a gift card they don't address the problem and fix it which is very easy I know I was a front end trainer for many years and it wasn't tolerated at all. I bought 6 WEEK EXPIRED protein shakes there. Could have been avoided, true, if I had checked date. But I would ASSUME they would notice something 6 weeks expires in their shelves. Returning it was a nightmare, had receipt with item clearly listed..not even 48 hours later, and was questioned a dozen different ways if I really purchased it there because it wasn't showing up on their system...not my fault! After almost 15 minutes, the service desk employee begrudgingly gave me my money back. There are a million and 1 places I can go to get my groceries, this will not be one of them. i prefer local markets. This place is always so busy and can take you for ever just to get a gallon of milk. Employees arent always the most knowledgable. The parking lot is horrible. Usually use the scanner and mysteriously i was part of the random check so i had to wait even longer. If Daves had more of variety I would avoid this place all together. read more
