Whats happening with this stores produce department? Its been terrible for a while now! I bought a pack of 4 tomatoes hadn't even opened yet 2 days later 1 is terribly rotted. Bought a watermelon quarter. It was so nasty tasting and texture was not that of a good watermelon! Now the cashiers...so rude!! Don't want to pack up your groceries! Most of time I do it myself. Was visiting family in the area and needed to stock up feed an army of children and adults. I don't think I have been in a S&S in over 15 years. Still looks exactly the same, almost nostalgic. The store was neat, clean and well lit. Prices are really low here and there was a good amount of variety on a lot of the basics, however there were several brands we like that we couldn't even find here. I called the West Boyleston S & S Store to ask if they had pre-prepared Thanksgiving Meals as I wanted to purchase a gift cert. for a family in Athol. Phone rang over 20 times, got a person who xfer'd me to Deli. I ask a simple question if they had these meals. The woman was so Rude, Nasty & didn't know the answer. I asked to speak to a Manager & was hung up on. I will go to Market Basket where they are always lovely & family oriented to speak to. read more

This stoppy was around longer than I can remember- and was probably the place where half of my graduating class got their first jobs... girlfriends and bags of weed. Anyways Its a decent grocery store and I always like to highlight when a location has a salad bar.. because I effing love salad bars and there is a great shortage of (quality ones) in Massachusetts in general. So kudos for black olives and sliced celery on your next grocery shopping trip. Good dressings too I might add. I went to this place a lot when I moved to Holden this year. Initially, this place gave me good impression. However, later on I found out the quality of goods in here is not great. I got sick after eating the fruit loop for breakfast. And furthermore, I bought charcuterie sampler on oct 4th, but today I found out it was expired on sep 20... Normally I wouldn't review a grocery store because...let's face it...grocery stores are exactly that. You get your groceries there and what is there to review?? Price? nah...decor? omg no....bargains? ummm no. WEellllll, this store has a great gimmick. They have scanners for your shopping cart. So you go around picking up your stuff and YOU scan it and place it in your bags. Haahaa!! It's so freakin fun!!!! You can monitor how much you're buying cause it adds up as you go! You can get coupons immediately if you buy certain products they are advertising on this little hand held funtoy. The best part? You can actually go in the 12 ITEMS OR LESS register with your loaded cart and NO ONE CAN STOP YOU!! Cause all you're doing is rescanning the funtoy and giving it to the cashier! I go back there every week to play with it! God! I love this thing... read more

I never thought I'd review a supermarket but really enough is enough! 10/6/19, 4-5 pm In this market in the past I've had lack luster service, incorrect items priced, the help texting and cell phone use while they were cashing me out, ok what ever, but today took the cake. In the self checkout line as I was leaving the young lady over seeing these registers who was leaning on her work station looking like she'd rather be anywhere but there, with longlines, she certainly wasn't doing anything to help the lines and customers and didn't seem over worked took issue when I pushed the small cart I was using aside and said to me " excuse me are you through with your cart? She didn't say it as I was bagging my order but walking away after cashing out drawing unneeded attention to what was an unnecessary situation instead of well you know move it the few feet behind her in the corral. I admit to saying to her since she wasn't doing anything at the time (and she wasn't) and from the lines she could have applied herself to help so I told her she could put it in the corral, the look on her face was priceless, while waiting in line I didn't tell her to put the baskets at the front of the registers away, or refill the bags that were more or less empty, I guess part of the stop & shop customer service training is to make sure to tell the customers to put there carts away especially when they are doing their best to do nothing at all, what is their actual job if they are just standing there disinterested? Customer Service? No just what you'd expect, with Market Basket, Shaw's, Price Chopper, Price Rite who know how to treat customers i'll do my shopping there and oh yes also don't try calling the store I gave up after 6 minutes, really now enough is enough, read more

Incredibly disappointed ... I had done all my shopping, realized my wallet was still at home, 5 minutes away and asked if they could hold it for me. They said they could. When I got home, found my wallet, I called to ask if they were still holding onto my food and they said yes... I returned to find out that they restocked everything. The worst experience. Once again throwing away meat that expired before the date.Called the store-Spoke with M O D -Jessica.Explained this was the fith time in 3-4 months that we have thown away bad meat . I did not mention the many times fruit and vegtables were tossed for being rotten. Jessica tells me to bring in the receipt and the product for a refund . I explained they were both in the trash and why must I save every receipt just in case the product is bad. I placed and online order for a birthday cake. While on the phone I looked thru their cake pictures and informed the person I was speaking to I wanted the frozen round cake because they had a round and rectangular. She asked me if I wanted vanilla and chocolate I figured sure why not. Have my info and hung up. The day I picked up my cake the cake wasn't at all what I asked for they made up pretty much what they wanted and then told me they tried calling but the number they had was wrong to let me know they did not have the kit for the cake I wanted. If that's the case at least make the cake the same colors not something completely the opposite. I was very disappointed because the cake was blue and red when it was supposed to be purple. I had also asked for strawberry filling they barely put any strawberries in it and it wasn't the filling I wanted. Never again read more

Yes, it's a pretty well stocked place, and they finally have vegan options so I don't have to go to other places to find food for when my daughter comes to visit. However, quality has gone down within the deli and produce areas. Just bought a pound of ham yesterday for sandwiches, went to make one and half the ham is brown already. Cucumbers are often rubbery and pruning. It's pretty bad that you can find fresher cucumbers at the Super Walmart rather than at this location. The front end crew has gotten better as when checking out, I don't have to listen to teenagers talking about how they got drunk or stoned at some party recently. However, it's kind of gross when you hear other employees saying things like, "Yeah, I'm not for cuddling, just get it done and leave", in the aisles of the store. The review about the woman who was sexually assaulted and how the employees reacted, my heart goes out to her, and I wish I could say the employee's reactions surprised me but it doesn't. this is a very nice grocery store,it has easy access from the road ,ample parking,a well maintained parking lot,there is always enough wagons and baskets,the store itself is kept very clean,it is well staffed,both on the registers and on the floor as well as the departments,deli meat seafood,ect..they never seem to run out of just about anything(except for garlic spread)they have a decent deli,nice seafood,a great meat department,which often times will randomly mark down a nice cut of meat if you are lucky enough to grab it,they have a day old bakery section in the corner, where you can sometimes find quite a bargain,the bakery department is AWESOME !! with a huge selection a breads ,muffins,pastrys,cookies,and cakes..what a display of cakes they have,they even ocassionaly have half cakes,it is great,it also has a pharmacy,and a bank if that appeals to you,the staff is always friendly and helpful,and will come to recognize you and say hello,of ALL the grocery stores in and around worcester this one is my favorite,see for yourself,you wont be dissapointed.!! read more
