I came in with an appointment to get a hitch installed at 1:00. I arrived on time but could not find anyone in the desk area. I went outside and looked around and didn't see anyone either. After looking at where a car was up (presumably being worked on) and had no one around, i went back inside. When I went back in, the guy at the front desk was there. I told him I had an appointment and asked him about how long it would take to have the hitch installed. He went outside to check with the install guys. He came back and said they must be at lunch. But He said about 1-2 hours is typical. I asked if they would call when they weee done, he said yes. I gave him my keys, filled out the paperwork and went on my way to meet a friend for lunch. After about an hour and a half hanging with my friend, I called to find out the status of my car. The front desk guy put me on hold to check. When he came back he told me they had not started my car yet and they must be out to lunch. Ummm...okay...Flabbergasted and unsure what to say, I told him I would call him back. I told my friend about it, thought about it and then my phone rang. It was the front desk guy. He said it was best to reschedule my appointment since the guys weren't back yet. I said okay. I rescheduled for the following Friday. About 15 minutes later I get another call and the front desk guy says that Friday appointment isn't available because the hitch guys are not here that day, could I come in Thursday. I found a time and worked it around my doctor's appointment that day. At this point, I'm really irritated and so angry. I had made a special trip for this appointment and planned it around my whole schedule. Finally, my friend takes me back to pick up my car. She comes inside with me. I said I was there to pick up my car. He says, "oh yeah, we got the work done." Shocked, I said, "what?" "We were able to do the hitch." "Okay..." I replied. I paid and I left. What a roller coaster of a ride you will go through to get work done here. That's all. I just don't have the spare time in my life to be jerked around like that. They finished the job but not without craziness. Make an appointment with caution. God only knows what happens when these guys are not there for HOURS.

I was informed by Kettner Storage that my lock was allegedly loose, and without my authorization, they placed their own lock on my unit. While I understand security protocols are important, the way the situation was handled afterward was incredibly disappointing and unnecessarily difficult. I live far from the facility, and with the cost of gas and time, I sent my assistant to simply check the unit. Despite calling from the phone number listed on my account -- the same number they have previously used to contact me regarding payments and account information -- my assistant was denied access because they refused to provide the key to the lock THEY placed on my unit. After multiple calls with the supervisor, confirming my identity over the phone, acknowledging who I was, and having my account information in front of them, they still insisted I personally drive down with my physical ID to access my own belongings. What made this more frustrating was being told "not to take it personally," when the reality is that this caused a very personal inconvenience involving my time, travel, expenses, and stress. There were many reasonable solutions that could have been offered: * Allowing me to email a copy of my ID for verification * Adding my assistant temporarily to the account * Verifying identity through the account phone number and information already on file Instead, I was met with inflexibility and what I believe was dishonesty. I was later told that on April 16th I had allegedly been informed that I would need to appear in person with ID to access the unit. That conversation never happened. The discussion on that date was regarding adding my card to autopay. For people who store important belongings -- especially if you travel frequently, live far away, or may need emergency access through a trusted assistant or family member -- this is something to seriously consider. If a lock issue occurs and you cannot physically appear immediately, accessing your own belongings may become extremely difficult. Storage companies should not only provide security, but also professionalism, honesty, hospitality, and practical solutions for their customers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I truly wish I could leave zero stars, but one will have to do.

Parking areas are clean and easy to access, and amenities like dolly carts are readily available, which made moving items in way easier than expected. All of my questions were answered clearly and precisely, and the office staff was excellent. Jovahna in particular made the paperwork and move-in process simple and straightforward. Everything was organized, professional, and stress-free. I would absolutely recommend this facility and will be referring others.

WARNING BAIT AND SWITCH !…read more Back in February, I went to go rent a unit at this location of Moreno Storage for $34 a month for a 4 x 5' unit. I have no issues until recently. I received the letter that you can see attached that they were going to increase my cost per month for this unit to $101 a month. I completely understand that they may have the legal right to do this but then I think everyone should know about it as I'm trying to let people know that if you rent from them and even a short period of three months, they'll play the bait and Switch game. If that increased my rent by $30 a month I would've been upset but not enraged. In this world, you should be building trust amongst customers, but when you do things like this, how can they trust you or am I just collateral damage that doesn't matter to you? Every single one of their customers should know this, especially if you're getting a unit that you think is at a good price, but the real reason is they're gonna triple it and say that that's the market rate which by the way I checked and that's not the market rate for a 4 x 5Ft anywhere in San Diego. I've included another image which is a screenshot from A1 Storage another provider in the area and as you can see from the image there is a promotional rate. It's states that actually mine never stated that with Marina and their normal cost for a 7 x 5foot unit is $98. That's the market rate and they're saying the market rate is $101 for a 4 x 5 to me this is price gouging. I'm glad Yelp doesn't remove reviews like Google does because they removed my last review about them on Google, which is what they do to all bad reviews so they can try to keep a good standing shame on Google for that.

Unrelatedly, the most recent unit we rented (as of last year) has been subject to massive amounts of debris and "dust" as a result of construction. I went to return some things to storage in April and discovered SUBSTANTIAL dust and debris coverage over every inch of the unit, and our belongings. There was a tractor parked in the parking spots directly outside the unit. This unit is a ground floor unit and when we raised the issue of the dust and debris to management (along with pictures, included here), we were told that this was the risk we assumed with a ground floor unit and the only offer was to give us painter's tarp to cover the front of the unit (ourselves). For context. We only moved our things into this unit in fall 2025. The amount of dust and debris covering our belongings is what you'd expect of things living in an attic for nearly a century, not 6 months. We have no idea what the content of the dust and debris is--it's possible it contains toxins like asbestos or lead, or who knows given the age of San Diego infrastructure. We were so put off by this, and the failure by management--it's a major liability for the company to take on without adequate mitigation. We are reviewing this legal matter but hopefully others can now be aware of this issue and make sure to address it swiftly. Keep photos and keep records.
