This place is always so clean and the front desk staff are awesome. The last time I was in, I realized I couldn't remember my combination for the lock on my storage unit, but after the gentleman working there checked my ID and confirmed the space was mine, he used his industrial strength pliers (seriously- these things were huge!) and opened the lock for me. Then I bought a lock from him-with a key, not a combination haha- (learned my lesson there) for about $5. They also sell any type of packing material you could possibly want- boxes, plastic wrap, tape, etc. The only reason I'm not going the full 5 stars is because this place is pricey. I got in on a really good deal like $24.95 a month for a few months. Well now it's more than 10 times that amount- what my first apartment in KC cost in 1996! read more

Never opened at the hours that are convenient for me. I work evenings, they're closed in Sundays and they close early weekdays. I have to take time off work to meet their hours. I'm sure it's for security reasons but their hours of operation doesn't help folks who need to access their unit when they're off work unless they take time off or that little window of opportunity on Saturday but you have to work around everyone else who's squeezed in that time slot. I did get property stollen from me as I had two carts loaded and had to leave one cart behind only to come back to retrieve it with items taken off. No help from full time manager. As a matter of fact she is the most unfriendly and not at all helpful. She doesn't have very good customer service skills. When you ask her a question it's like she angry and bitter. She runs the place like the KGB or like a marine Sargent. I'd rate this a lot better but because of the hours of operation and that manager I have to lower the rating. This is just location as if you call StorageMart the customer service is top notch. I recommend calling them for any questions you might have of for anything else because you're not gonna be happy with dealing with the grouch on site. Also im on auto pay and when my payment did t clear, they failed to notify me and the uncured the huge late fee, which I think is on purpose so make sure you make your monthly payments, because they want you to be late so they can charge you. I called to ask about being notified if payment didn't go thru before the late fee gets you and notta, ziltch no help had to pay. Unapologetic and just crappy attitude saying it's my fault. Which it is but not on purpose. read more

Excellent experience with StorMart (near Zona Rosa). Robert guided me through the selection process to make sure I got what I needed to store a motorcycle while traveling. Shelly even double checked the door opening to assure me my bike would fit when I arrived. Check in paperwork was seamless. Payments are automatic. Everything in the process has been easy so far and exceeded my expectations, especially after several disappointing calls with lesser storage competitors. read more

Crazy as it may sound, I am a big fan of Storage Mart. The staff is friendly, professional and helpful. The units are affordable. And the place is always clean and well lit. That may not mean a lot to some, but those of us who have had to keep stuff in a rat infested, leaky, outdoor barn know to appreciate it. Wether you are looking for a short term solution prior to a move or you have a longer term business need, I couldn't recommend them enough. read more

*Update on 10/23: After writing the review below on Yelp, I received a refund for one-month rent which more than covered the extra fee I was charged. I am satisfied with this resolution, although I hope that in the future managers can resolve issues like this rather than issues being resolved only after sharing a poor experience on the internet. I did explain the exact scenario that I wrote below to the manager before writing this review and I was told that there was nothing more he could do. I felt a little leery when I initially had to sign the very long list of rules related to vacating the storage unit and my concerns ended up being well founded. We rented a storage unit to temporarily place items while we sold our house. We paid our monthly rent via auto payment from our credit card. I followed the rules when it was time to vacate by bringing in a signed form two weeks prior to my vacate date with this notice. I planned to vacate on the 13th of the month. The form was accepted and I was told, "it's all set." I asked if I needed to do anything else except move my things out by that date and I was told that was it. When my credit card was charged a full month's rent, I called and told the manager I thought I was over charged because I'm vacating on the 13th and understood from the paperwork that it would be prorated. The manager told me he would "refund it." Apparently, he refunded the entire month's rent. Additionally, apparently the rule is that after the 9th of the month (or something), they don't prorate. So, in my case, I was not initially overcharged for that month according to their rules. If I were told that when I called, I would think "ok, whatever" and go on. Instead, because the manager refunded the full amount, my account became overdue and I was charged additional fees. When I showed up on moving day with the movers (who were "on the clock"), I was told by the front desk person that I would have to pay the full month's rent plus the additional fees (charged because the manager chose to refund what I already paid, mind you) in order to access my things in the rented unit. I explained that this was unfair as the refund of the full month's rent was their mistake - I never asked them to do that. I paid the rent; I only called to inquire about proration for the month. The manager was out and there was nothing they could do about it. It ended up that I paid the additional charges plus full month's rent so the movers could get my things out. Then when I called later to speak about this with the manager, he only refunded the fees partially and said that he couldn't do anything about it now that I had vacated. To summarize, this company doesn't take responsibility for their own mistakes and I ended up paying extra for their mistake. read more
