I have been here a couple of times and each visit has been fantastic. The first time, I attended a bacon and beer party that my favorite podcast/radio peeps put together. It was a great day as I also found out I got approved for an apartment I been wanting to move to for quite some time. The staff was on top of everything and the breakfast food was quite delicious along with the hot coffee. The outdoor patio is very comfortable and cozy. Some time later my sister and brother in law invited me for their winter beer fest. I have not been to one in quite a while but it was probably my favorite one in recent years. They have sessions so not be over crowded and such. We went to the afternoon session and there was plenty of seating outside. The heaters were comfy and the servers were awesome. Everyone was friendly and I didn't have to wait line for beer and cocktail pours. The food appetizers were delicious and I recommend meatball with marina sauce. The sauce is great for dipping with the fries and onion rings. As the weather starts heading to spring, I look forward to more patio gatherings, cheers! read more

Stormbreaker Brewing is another brewery that is very unique and it's decor and design. The beertender was super nice and helpful with their beers offering suggestions to try as well as other locations that we should stop at during our visit in Portland. We were there during the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, so it was pretty slow, but you can definitely tell it is a place that the locals in that neighborhood hang out. On our way out, we happened upon a guest, that was about to enter with their cute pooch, so we spoke to her for a few minutes, and it seems like just about everyone that we have encountered so far in Portland was really nice and helpful. The food had a decent selection for a brew pub. I was with friends birthday hopping through St. John's and this was a good place to hang with a larger party. All of the food arrived not too long after we ordered through our phones. We ordered via QR codes and my partner got the quesadilla add chicken and he liked it. I had the falafel wrap and it was fresh and flavorful. Tortilla got a little wet from the tomato I think but it didn't break on me. The pickle plate was nice but I wanted more pickles and less onion. I saw that you could go throw some axes in the back so maybe it's a good idea to come check it out again. read more

This place was great! They have outdoor seating and with Portlands great weather it's a treat to sit outside! We ordered a beer flight which was a great choice. We were able to try different beers my fave one was the pumpkin peddler and SB lite. We also tried a pineapple/mango cider which was pretty good and I'm not a huge fan on ciders. It was a World Cup match day and super busy - all good. We patiently waited in line for over 30mins due to understaffing (truly appreciated the effort of the staff that was there), but of the 5 drinks we ordered, 2 were wrong, 1 was never served. The 2 beers that we got were excellent. Do not recommend for watching a game (which was the whole reason we were there - they had a big outdoor screen for it!). The management should reconsider whether they can host these if they are not willing to staff appropriately. read more

Staying in the Mississippi district of Portland. Our accommodations are a block from Mississippi Ave that is home to a variety of shops and eateries. Boy did we hit the jackpot. We walked the entire avenue to take in the variety and quickly learned the place is a buzz with people in the evening. Thirsty for a beer we stopped into the neighborhood brewery and found just that locals hanging out watching the game and conversing with the staff. Found the staff super friendly and fun to talk to. I'm an IPA fan so I had the a pint of Nobody is Gonna Put Hazy in the Corner... enjoyed it! My friend order a triple IPA! All the beers had creative names. Not only did they have beer but they also had a wall of whiskey and a menu to order from. It's a rustic place with a giant tent outside where a large screen was up showing the football game. This place was a great stop and I can only imagine in the summer all the outdoor seating is full. Good beer and friendly staff! Recommend stopping in! read more

Now this was the kind of brewery I was looking for on my most recent visit to Portland. There are so many quality beers in this town it's hard to narrow it down on a short visit, so I rolled the dice on this one and hit big. Every beer in my flight was a winner, which is rare for me and especially impressive considering I tasted the rainbow and didn't just stick with my usual dark, darker, darkest picks. Their Cathreedral Park that just released is sure to be a hit - I really enjoyed it and wanted more. Much, much more. The location is on a great stretch of Mississippi with a lot of interesting nearby businesses. It's also huge, featured some live music, and was majorly dog friendly. The vibe here was really relaxed and inviting, like a backyard bbq at your friend's house. If only this place had quality vegan options beyond a boring hummus plate *sigh* I could have really gotten down with more of their brew and settled in. The standout dish that absolutely stole the show during my visit was the Brussels sprouts - they were simply divine. These Brussels sprouts were roasted to perfection, achieving the ideal balance of tenderness and crispness. The addition of a flavorful vinaigrette and garlic elevated the dish to new heights, making it an explosion of flavors in every bite. The presentation was beautiful, and the aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. David and I were walking Mississippi last Friday, and stopped here for Lunch. I've been here before, albeit under at least 1 previous name. The inside and outside are pretty much as I remember it, except with some significant COVID-related outdoor seating changes. Inside seating is allowed, but restaurant staff were good at pushing the outdoor option. I ordered a Pesto Chicken Sandwich, while David chose the Fish and Chips. Even though my dish also came with fries, I ended up transferring about half of my portion over to my much hungrier Son. I was also pleased with the non-breaded option for my chicken and marveled how much of that were on his fish. But, we both enjoyed our meal and our leisurely conversation. My pint of Mississippi Red was also very good. Under "you never know who you'll run into", a guy stuck his head in the tent, noted my Iowa Hawkeyes hat and asked me about the upcoming game with Michigan. I correctly pointed out that Iowa was in a relatively weak Big 10 division and that the Wolverines would probably win. The food menu is very limited. The pseudo Cubano (it has pulled pork) was decent, the bread they use is excellent. What was disappointing were the side of blah potato chips, no better than something from a bag. Two other entrees on the table looked okay. The beer selection is IPA heavy and not very varied. The server we had was incredibly rude. We had originally asked to sit outside but the table we had was slanted . I have herniated discs and this was extremely aggravating to my sciatica. We asked the bartender (since we did not see our server) if it was possible we could move inside . She said yes so we did. When the server brought out the food he couldn't have been more rude even after letting him know we had asked the bartender and she had said it was fine. We were the only party eating inside and there were maybe 2 other parties outside dining. It wasn't busy or packed . Needless to say we will never return . The bartender however deserves 5 stars.
