This winery is tucked away in an industrial location however it is one to seek out. Nestled in the safety of Hawks Prarie it is a great spot for the locals to ride their bikes to and for those far to drive on over and try a wine flight. I love the variety and you can request a tour by the owner as well. We were members herw for a year and loved grabbing our bottles every few months. Check it out, wont disappoint. read more

I love their wines - which is key for a winery. Great wines, it cheep but really tasty. This was my first time to their tasting room though. It's a nice set up, nothing fancy but they're making an effort in their warehouse. Points for that. The flights were well displayed on boards with little shot type glasses you pour into the single glass they give you. Their snacks are junk though, so either have lunch before you go or bring your own goodies if you like to snack while you drink. The service was good, helpful but not overbearing at all. And the discounts with the club membership seem worth it if you live nearby and can drive to get your wine each month. read more

When we moved to Lacey three years ago, Stottle was one of our first stops as we explored our new town. The wine tasting was a wonderful experience and I left with a few bottles and pleasant memories. After a few months, I decided to return for another bottle and a new tasting. Soon, we became regulars and, after year, we signed up for their wine club. It's hard to explain how much we love this winery. Over the past few years, we've tried nearly every wine they've produced and attended numerous events at their Lacey tasting room. We've had the opportunity to tour the winery, listen to music while sipping wine from Josh's private cellar at a member event, and have attended a valentine's day event with wonderful chocolate. As a member, I feel like part of the Stottle family and community. They value their customers. If you are in the area for a day, I definitely recommend you stop by and try the wine this family has put so much time, care, and love into producing. If you live here, consider joining their email list so you can participate in the wonderful events they host for members of the community. Went here yesterday with a $6 for tasting for two coupon from Groupon. It. Was. AWESOME. Though in a crappy looking strip of industrial land, they've really warmed the inside- with original pieces of art on every wall and comfy seating as well as high end looking chairs & tables. Our tasting let my friend and me each choose 5 wines. We tried a white, a rose (thats ros-ay), two reds, and a dessert wine. Our favorites were the white and the dessert- but different strokes for different folks. The winemaker made a couple of appearances, and the guy working the front REALLY knew his stuff! He told us about all sorts of things ranging from wine judging procedures to types of grapes. Very thorough at answering our questions. We learned a lot, had a great time, and definitely got more than we were expecting out of this experience. The one final touch that I think would knock it out of the park would be some curtains for the front and little office insert, to detract from the overwhelming industrial vibe. Maybe a fireplace, too- false or real. Other than that, A++. read more

I'm a fan of all of the wineries in this area and Stottle Winery is no exception to my winery love. I found this winery through friends that were in the know. A stop at a winery across the street turned into an afternoon of wine tasting and I certainly wasn't complaining. Both times I visited the winery employees doling out delicious wine samples were welcoming and friendly. They also seemed knowledgeable about the wines and wine in general. The wines were delicious and they have a nice selection of wines. I was surprised how many different wines they have. The wine tasting room isn't huge, but it's clean and has some seating if you want to hang out for a bit. read more

The thing about tasting rooms is they get a lot of tourist business, people who stop in once and may or may not be in a position to return. So ya sorta need to be on your A-game with tasting rooms. I stopped into Stottle's Lacey location during a road trip. I was the only one in the tasting room at the time. The vibe was ... a little weird ... felt like I was intruding. Also, I didn't want to do the usual number of tastings; I only wanted to taste two wines. That seemed to be sort of an issue with how to ring it up. And also I didn't want to pay a tasting fee because I was going to buy at least one bottle. The experience just seemed ... strained. I was happy with the bottle I purchased. read more

LOVE this winery. The little strip mall where it is located, leaves something to be desired, but the wine is fabulous! Also, the bar with the curved pieces of wine barrel is very unique and interesting. I bought a bottle of Barbera. WOW! Delicious, totally divine! The owner is very nice and knowledgeable and I can appreciate when one of the "pourers" working a busy wine trail weekend honestly says, "you know I don't know that much but let me ask the owner". I gave 3 stars based on the wine alone. Would have been 5 stars had Amy, the co-owner, been even remotely pleasant with us. She was just finishing a tasting with another couple when we entered, she greeted us and gave us a brief overview of a tasting if we choose to taste. She was quite chatty with the other customers but barely spoke to us other than inquiring about our AZ license plate. Now it makes sense after reading another Yelpers review about their experience and how odd it felt being a tourist in the area and not feeling welcome. We definitely second that feeling. She was either ignorant about the wine or just rude to not explain each wine as we were tasting them. She completely stopped helping us as her attention went to the other customer halfway through our "tasting" that entered after we were already tasting. If it wasn't for her husband, Josh I think, coming out front we'd have never been helped. Also, rather than giving a clean glass to try the other wines we picked she just poured into the same glass over and over except the one white wine. Worst tasting experience we've ever had but the wines were decent. We won't be back until she's gone. BTW, we live locally now, just moved back to Washington had Amy bothered to engage in conversation and not presume we were tourists. I agree with the other Yelp reviewer about the positive experience at the distillery next door, great customer service, explanation and conversation, we will be back Salish Sea. read more

This review is for the Stottle Winery located in Hoodsport, WA. I have not been to the Lacey location yet. I had a wonderful experience at the winery! Lucy was so friendly, professional, and fun to be around. I tried two whites, a rosé, a red (hombre), and a dessert wine. I am not a red wine drinker at all and the hombre I tried was exceptional. I tasted a little spiciness to it and loved that. The rosé was fantastic. To finish everything off, I ended with the dessert wine and that KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF. It was soooo good! It is a great stand alone wine after dinner as a dessert. I just had a wonderful experience overall. The wines I had today were all very quality. I am so impressed with them. I am looking forward to going to the location in Lacey soon. Highly recommend! Cheers! read more

Wow. Obviously my 4 friends and I came on the wrong day! The gentleman behind the bar was very welcoming. The female working with him was not. My first experience was rudeness when calling to find out about the tasting room...then in the tasting room we asked for a cheese platter, which they were out of. Totally understand, that was okay. But could we bring in some our own crackers to help us enjoy the wines more? The female answered "well, if you're not messy, crumbs are hard to clean up". This is the same female that when I asked for some information on the Roussanne she said, "well, it's white and is citrusy". Please know that the 5 of us 50+ year olds were in the Olympia area on a mission to try some new Washington wines. We had money to spend and spaces to fill in our wine cellars back home. Since we all live in the Hillsboro/Dundee/McMinnville area we are not unaccustomed to wine tastings. We have practiced a lot. Yet the female made each of us feel we were beneath her. We are not. Nice thing is that the distillery next door is fabulous and made out like a bandit with our funds! And the truffles were good...too bad we could not taste them with Stottle wines! read more

It was a bit hard to find, but worth it. They are in a business park, but when you walk in it's really nice, very cool inside. They have mostly reds, and one white, a fantastic viognier. The reds were really nice too, one of the best Malbecs I ever had. This is my absolute favorite go-to wine outlet, if you will, for special occasions. I'm a $5-10 bottle cabernet kind of girl, but upon special occasion [or making them up to give me reason to take a trip to Stottle], I always look forward to perusing the wine at Stottle. This winery had spoiled me for most grocery store wines. I love the bold taste of Big Eddie and buttery taste of their Viogner. I've belonged to their wine club since they opened and not one wine has let me down. The owners, Amy and Josh, are always very friendly and knowledgeable.
