Excellent food in a plush atmosphere with very reasonable prices. We were very pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the food. We had been looking for seafood and this restaurant showed up under that category and it only has one seafood dish, so that was disappointing, but they made up with the great food and pricing. The staff was really friendly and professional, from the hostess to the waitstaff. Our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived for our reservation, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Our waitress was super attentive and did a great job. Timing of the salad, appetizer and entree was perfect! The chicken parm was some of the best I've ever had, as well as the chicken Alfredo, which had a really nice smoky flavor to it. First time here, wife and I drove down from Watertown to check it out. It's for our anniversary, and she loves Italian food!! Well, they're extremely short staffed, as in no hostess and 2 wait staff. When we walked in they had 2 tables with like 10 people per table. None the less, the waitress tried her best to keep our glasses full. She was amazing!! The food has giant portions, and is very good!! Wife and I each got Chicken Parmesan and daughter got Lasagna. I was surprised to find out the Lasagna had Sausage instead of Beef but was still good. the service was the worst I've came across in a long while. we waited over an hour for our meal when a couple tables around us received there appetizers and meals before we could speak up by that time they were bringing out cold dishes. the manager came to our table after my mom received a overcooked steak saying it's the best it was gonna get. very rude and disrespectful. or waitress had no knowledge of anything. our tip on the check was 76 cents in which we thought was to much. the best thing about the experience was the outside park attendant. I give him 5 stars. and to state the obvious we're African American. go figure, I guess they don't think we deserve a decent night out. read more

First time here sorry to say it took this long. But wow! The building has held many other restaurants and I have only been to this one and I'm glad I waited. The decor is modern with colors reminiscent of Italy. Very busy as it was a Saturday night. Bar area is huge with good lighting and seating. I had a Grey Goose martini which was served to my surprise in a new style of martini glass with no stem and a nice deep well for my drink - no worries about spilling this beverage! The only challenging part is all the little steps to go down into the downstairs dining area, but that comes from it being a very old but expertly renovated place. Now onto the food: started with the bread and dipping oil... oil was delicious! Appetizers: a nice size wedge salad with all the trimmings, coconut shrimp with an excellent pineapple dipping sauce & pasta fagioli which was very tasty! Entrees: Eggplant rolatini (appetizer size) which were huge and flavorful. Sirloin steak (perfectly done) on top of mashed potatoes with a fresh green bean medley! Shrimp scampi which was a little different take on this dish as it was tomato based with lots of cherry tomatoes around the shrimp which were huge- very tasty! Haddock Florentine which was a huge piece of fresh haddock with spinach and roasted red peppers in a white wine sauce that was really yummy oh and I had the fresh green bean medley as well! My wife and I decided to give Strada Mia a try due to a recommendation from a friend. We were promptly greeted and we elected to sit nearby the bar. The decor is ok, but seems to me to be a little sterile. There isn't much personality to the place, nothing that I noticed on the walls. Again, nice but bland. Could've been applicable to any restaurant anywhere. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, Caesar salads with our filet mignon and lasagna mains. The server came out with the calamari in one hand and a Caesar salad in the other which we thought was a little odd. The calamari came with three sauces; marinara, teriyaki and cocktail. It was "ok", a bit chewy and might have been undercooked. The salads were drenched in dressing, way too much, and was nothing more than iceberg lettuce with a couple croutons. The main courses then came out and turned everything around. What started out as a lackluster to even poor experience was transformed into a very good one. The mains were excellent, the filet was cooked medium rare and was very good and the lasagna portion was huge with a very fresh tasting marinara. Together we had two glasses of wine and two mixed drinks. Dinner with no dessert was $107. They need to pay more attention to the basics, move up the quality of their pre-main items and offset it by reducing the size of their main portions, they're way too big. The lasagna could feed four! A few nights ago my friends and I visited strada Mia for the first time. After reading the 4 star reviews we were excited to try this Italian restaurant. When we sat down to dinner and our waitress came by, one of the first things she started with was. "Sorry I would give you guys bread but we ran out", not a big deal, but it may have been more professional to just not even mention it. We ordered a bottle of wine and fried calamari to start with, no complaints. We ordered three entrees...the chicken riggies were underwhelming, not very flavorful and not spicy at all (most riggies I've tried usually had some kick to them). The chicken Marsala entree had a couple small pieces of chicken and enough pasta to feed a family of four. Lastly, salmon and rice pilaf (my entree). The salmon was good, however, the rice pilaf HAD to be boxed rice, and pretty bad boxed rice at that. I asked the waitress if i could possibly get a different side, she offered me a few different options but I went with the risotto. The waitress herself spoke highly of it. When I tried the risotto I couldn't even believe that the restaurant would serve such a dish. I don't even think it was made from arborio rice but maybe plain white rice, had some sort of cheese (no flavor) and no seasoning or salt for that matter. It was beyond awful! I asked the waitress if I could speak to the manager. When I told the manager, Keith, how disappointing and terrible the food was, he abruptly pulled my plate away from under me (even though I was still eating the salmon). He did not attempt to make up or apologize for the bad experience but instead made some passive aggressive remarks! Worst experience ever! read more

This is a very "High End" Italian-American Restaurant with Awesome Appetizers, Italian dishes and Steaks. The decor with all the granite tables the openness in some areas and the coziness in other of the restaurant fits every dining experience. I have been to this restaurant many times and the Service, Quality/Taste and prices have always been exceptional. This Restaurant is my favorite in Syracuse along with Dinosaur Barbecue (totally different atmosphere). Went for graduation weekend, our reservation which was made months in advance got screwed up, no mention was made that there would be a limited menu, menus given to our table had differing prices and when asked about it were told that the prices were whatever the computer spit out which resulted in a $75 difference which they eventually made good on. While in Syracuse for a show we wanted a nice dinner after being on the road all day. The reviews for Strada Mia were good so we gave it a try. Our server January was warm and friendly. We didn't have time to waste because we needed to find our concert venue. I ordered a nice glass of merlot which was very good. My husband wasn't very hungry, so he just had a Stella and a Bruschetta. My order of Manicotti was huge and I should have just ordered a 1/2 order because I wasn't able to do a take-home. It was very good none-the-less. On departure, our GPS couldn't find the Lakeview Amphitheater, so I asked the Hostess to give me directions as we were now running late for the beginning of the show. I want to give a special shout out to her for sitting down with me and helping with directions. Definitely would return to this lovely restaurant another time for a more leisurely meal. read more

This place is literally a diamond in the ruff! The private parking lot and security is a great benefit. Nicely enough with these extra along with coat checking the dinner prices are impacted. The ambiance is clean and the noice level was at a normal level and you could easily chat with your group. We went on a Friday night and called ahead for reservations 45 minutes before hand and got in. The waitress Was very attentive, the food came out fairly fast and was delicious. The appetizers we ordered were very tasty .....fried calamari and a dish of greens. the room was small and crowded and very very noisy.....we had a large group of nine people .....we did make a reservation and were seated promptly our main courses of chicken and veal carpacio were NOT good....they were not hot ....the veal was grey in color and there was absolutely no seasoning in this dish.....three of us ordered the same dish and were very disappointed. our friends who ordered entrees with tomato sauce said their dinners were o.k but nothing special. this was a very disappointed meal .....the waitress was very pleasant but it was obvious that she was over worked and the chef could not have cared less about the food he was putting out to customers. read more

We just sat here tonight for dinner. I was excited to go to this place after all the reviews. It was hands down the WORST service I have ever experienced. First, it took us 20 minutes just to get our waters filled. Then, there were 6 of us at dinner. 3 meals came to the table with the waitress saying, "I'll be right back with the rest." As customary, we waited until everyone had their food to eat. Right back meant 20 minutes later with the other 3 meals. Veal Parm, very lackluster. Chicken riggies, were not chicken riggies. WORST part is, the waitress was unapologetic and the manager was even WORSE. He couldn't have CARED LESS. He gave us a pit deduction and didn't give us the time of day. Okay, deff a 3 1/2 stars, but I didn't have that option on mobile... The bread and herbed oil was the best part of the meal. We had the bacon wrapped scallops with the maple reduction and coconut shrimp for apps, and split the Neptune for our entree. The maple syrup on the scallops was a bit much, and shrimp were pretty good, go light on the peach sauce though!! The Neptune sounded and looked amazing, but we were very underwhelmed- it needed salt, garlic, anything.. Both the sauce and chicken were bland to the point that we had to salt the whole thing. Other reviews rave about it, so maybe they were having an off night... The service was on point, the drinks were great and our server was very helpful, so overall it wasn't a bad experience. read more

after reading some of the reviews, I was super excited to go to this spot for a drink and some light food at the bar. The inintal start made me have a raised eye brow....we parked the car walked to the front and was greeted by what looked like a BODY GUARD yikes that sends a message huh? As we sat at the bar, we ordered some drinks and food. It was so loud from the music but also the patrons who were swearing at the bartenders and then saying the "N" word. I was so disgusted by the inappropriate behavior and also surprised that no one stepped in and stopped it. One of the bartenders looked at us and mouthed.."sorry" as if she was embarrassed for the customers and the other bartenders behaviors. He was screaming... literally screaming from one end of the bar to the other end of the bar. Clearly he was some type of a "regular" jerk . I wanted to tell the bartender that if that was her boyfriend then she could do better because he was obnoxious and the bartender was swearing back at him. Hmmmm Overall my experience was not that enjoyable. In fact, I said to our BODY GUARD on the way out...where were you when we needed you inside the bar? My boyfriend and I were on our way to the airport and wanted a bite before boarding. Strada Mia's hospitality, parking, ambiance, and especially food, were excellent! I had the sesame crusted tuna & my boyfriend ordered the filet mignon- GREAT choices!! I highly recommended the Wedge salad too- the crunchy, crisp lettuce made the salad have that much more bite. To start, warm bread with a dipping oil that's similar to the drizzle on escargot- mmm mmm GOOD! We can't wait to fly back & visit Strada Mia on our next visit to Syracuse :) read more

Judging by all the other reviews I went to a different restaurant. I sent my entrée back twice. One of my companions had veal and it was as tough as old boots. The service was S...L...O...W and I was presented with a credit card slip with nothing itemized. No Manager or Cook appeared as is custom when you are served rubber chicken and shoe leather. I sent them a complaint on their website. They did not respond. I eventually phoned and spoke with a Manager. He sent me a "welcome to the Strada Mia Club' welcoming letter with a gift card. He spelt my name wrong on the letter (which I have returned). So, clearly there are two Strada Mia's and I picked the one from another dimension. That explains my experience!!! read more

Went this weekend with total of 6 people. Had waiter Chris. Great waiter talked loud enough for us to hear over the large groups that sat around us and yelled conversation to each other. Food was excellent, perfect portions. Calamari was fantastic. Linguine with calm was very good. Calms in shells and very large. I came here with a large group of eight on a weeknight. We were met by a pleasant security guard at the door. Our server, Maria, was patient and knowledgeable. We ordered drinks and appetizers. The eggplant rollatini was amazing and so cheesey. The calamari was wonderful (but, as I've said before, I find that calamari is hard to mess up). It came with a variety of sauces, but the Asian-style dipping sauce was a wonderful change. The mia greens were fine, but I've had better. I prefer them a little spicier, but they were still good. I ordered the veal Milanese. It was HUGE and absolutely delicious. It was beautifully fried with a lovey bruschetta-style topping. The risotto that it was served order was flavorful and creamy, as well. All of the meals at my table were gigantic portions and definitely split able. After our meal, we were walked to our cars by the security guard, which I found awkward at first but I realize what a pleasant touch this was. We picked here for our work Christmas dinner. We had 16 people in our party. The service was excellent especially for a large group. Everyone got drinks quickly and everyone was pleased. The food was very good as well. Our group was sharing some dishes so I tried a few. We started with coconut shrimp and it was very good and the dipping sauce was excellent. Then I ordered a caprese salad. The mozzarella was very fresh and the house balsamic was very tasty. My main course was a veal saltimbocca. It was a little sweeter than normal but was delicious. The veal was cooked perfect. My wife had the Milanese dish with risotto and was great. A bunch of our party ordered the chicken parm and they were huge and they raved. I also sampled someone's chicken riggies and they were great as well. Worth a try if your in Syracuse. Only knock is it's not in a great part of town but they have a good staff that keeps an eye on things read more

I can't say enough about the entire experience. From the minute we stepped out of the car. It was lightly sprinkling, they met us with umbrellas. The hostess was very welcoming and excited hearing it was our first time trying this spot since the change. The Waitress was more than gracious. The food was DELICIOUS! The General manager very hospitable as well as the entire bar staff, everyone was genuinely happy (nice for once!) the GM showed us around. They again walked slightly behind us to our vehicle until we were safely on our way. One of the best customer service experiences in a very long time. We will definitely return. On our first visit I hesitated because of the location, don't let that stop you. A well lit and fenced in parking lot is provided with professional security personnel posted outdoors in all weather. We actually felt safer there than at any other place we could have gone. Food is, in my opinion, upscale at an affordable price and tasty. With plenty of seating available, wait time is minimal. Didn't get a chance to place our orders (neither apps or mains) until 8:35 ordered wine at 8:40 and got bread at 8:44 (asked for bread twice). At 9:50 we were delivered our meals. Mine was wrong. They brought me the $45 veal chop, which would have delectable, I'm sure, but I wasn't trying to spend that much tonight. I did try my friends food while I waited and they were both dishes I could have made myself. When mine finally arrived it was DELICIOUS. When the check came I was charged for the $45 chop! They did completely waive my entree, which was nice. The restaurant was clearly understaffed. Unfortunately, I can't give this place a great rating considering all of the above and the fact that we were there for three hours.
