haddock dinner
Tim K.

It's always nice to eat locally. It's even nicer to eat locally with someone you care about. Honoring the tradition of Lent we went to Strada tonight for a fish dinner. Tonight's entrée was haddock. Your basic syracuse go to fish for Lent. The dinner brings a very good sized fried haddock fish. It's flaky, not overly battered and not at all greasy. About as good as you can get for fried haddock. The sides include coleslaw and seasoned french fries. You get a bunch of delicious seasoned french fries but a very small portion of coleslaw. The coleslaw was on the better tasty side. Not too tangy, not bland. The downside is you only get about four forks full. Rather disappointing based on the balance of things and the cost of the dinner.

Can't order the antipasto salad online for delivery. The Wedge salad is miss described. It has all the ingredients for a antipasto salad but if I order it I get a wedge. I have requested several times for them to change it but nothing has been done over a year now. I don't want to drive across town all the time because of something miss labeled...

Tomahawk Steak for Two - Valentine's Day special
Paige C.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. When I walked in, it already exceeded my expectations. We made reservations for Valentine's Day, it wasn't packed or noisey which we appreciated. Overall, dinner was good but not great for our almost $200 bill. We asked for a medium rare steak with blue cheese on the side because only one of us prefers it. The steak came out medium well with blue cheese smothered. The steak was dry which was sad. However, the apps were great. We got calamari and a scallop special. We got crème brûlée for dessert that was fabulous!

Food was pretty good, service was amazing (ask for Ryan, he's the man!!), and portions were generous. Can't ask for much more.

Short wait time to order 10-15 minutes and short wait time for pick up. The small lobster roll is up to a whopping $26! It was fresh and packed with buttery lobster. The lobster tots were amazing, with a fair amount of lobster for $22. We shared both. The Brewery had cleared out a bit by the time we received food. Plenty of room at the bar and tables to enjoy our food. Huge improvement on two plus hour wait time last visit. But I think Mother Nature dictates the turn out at these events as well.

My order took about 10 minutes, 1 hot Connecticut Lobster Roll and 1 Cold Maine lobster Roll. It was a such a beautiful spring day I decided to open the back of my van and eat in the sun! ( There was no place to eat at this business.) The hot buttery Connecticut roll was tender and delicious, it had a nice amount of lobster meat. The other roll, the cold one had noticably less meat. I was disappointed but it was delicious and next time I'll try something else, people were saying that the lobster tacos and lobster quesadillas were very good too.

The arroz con pollo was one of those dishes you keep going back to even when you're full. And Tacu tacu! Yum! Desserts were tasty. Both beautifully plated and delicious. I very much enjoyed the ceviche and it was a large portion. My partner seemed to like the potatoes. I had the whole fish special. An interesting experience to say the least. No idea what kind of fish it was but it tasted good. Do not order this trying to look cool or attractive. This is a messy experience- not for a first date. My partner had a vegetarian entree, something with mushrooms. She enjoyed it. We had a total of 3 mocktails as well. Bill was almost 200 dollars. Steep for no booze and one person ordering all vegetarian. Take that into consideration when planning a night out as th drink menu looked great so you're destined to go above that if you booze. The tables were very close to each other and the dining room was loud. Not romantic in my opinion. Food was pretty good, rest of the stuff could use a little work.

TPOH nailed it: "Speaking of hearing, I can't take too much loud music I mean I like to play it, but I sure don't like the racket" I'm starting here, with the vibe, which sets the scene, dig? Decor-wise, it's luxe lounge, and is a welcome surprise in the Salt City. We use Resy, and...either the hostess misheard our party size, didn't really care, didn't really doublecheck to read our actual reservation, or whatever man, that's just your opinion. So, the backroom might have been a bit better suited for us olds, we were ushered into the front room. Not the window, but pretty darn close. Again, fun for people watching, inside and out. But damn it kids, if you have a DJ, I want to talk to Sir Vibes A Lot and ask them how they think thumping house music actually aids in digestion? Maybe I unconsciously started chewing to the unrelenting 4/4 beat, anything's possible. Now onto the menu, and back to the identity crisis. Like a lot of places, the York has a broad spectrum of offerings. Burger. Nashville Hot. Multiple pasta options. Sure, sure, sure. The porkchop with kimchi fried rice was the clear winner, hands down. The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. The poutine satisfied by itself. Our server was great- thanks, Destiny!
