Strange Love is a vibe! Obviously there are weirdos everywhere you go so be aware of your surroundings. Aside from that strange love has 4 bars, two upstairs and another downstairs. The fourth one is in the girls bathroom. The upstairs is beautifullll! I love going up there and watching/dancing on the pole. The girls bathroom is a whole diff world. The bad bitches, the lil bar, the vanities, the girl chat, the big mirrors for pics. They need to fix some of their bathroom stall doors bc some of them don't lock. If you have your home girl w you have her hold it for ya(: Service is Amazing, the waitresses and bartenders are so niceee and check on you often. Dj's here are so hit or miss, I've been here a few times and you'll be lucky to hear actual fun music. The venue is so nice so its unfortunate that this is the case, pay your dj's more or understand smooth transitions.... not to mention, INCONSISTENT drink prices. This is one of my favorite nightclubs to hit up when in in Boise for the nightlife! The atmosphere here is great, while the staff is somewhat a hit or miss for the most part the staff (even some of the bouncers) are cool, chill and very friendly. Thankfully i've noticed that most of the few staff members that are either a bit arrogant and rude or are snobbish usually end up not staying very long. I do like their VIP area which is a nice spot to chill plus just like you'd expect from the people in Boise most of the fellow patrons both dudes and women are quite chill and friendly and just want to have a good time while being open to meeting new people. While the happy hour drink specials are nice that they have up till 11 the regular drink prices in my opinion is a bit high. Definitely a 4.5 out of 5 stars! read more

Worst bar in Boise ID. I ordered a vodka lemonade, and they only gave me the lemonade. I went with a friend and ordered a red bull with no alcohol, and they charged me as if it had alcohol (very pricey redbull uh). I let my wallet on the bar for a moment, somebody took and they did not help me at all to find it; which is more, they actually kicked me out of the bar and I never got my wallet back with all my documents. I already made a report to the police. You can see the ratings of this place everywhere, it's considered one of the worst places in Boise. read more

The Location: In Downtown Boise near the intersection of W Main St and S 6th St. Parking is easy to find walking distance for free. The Staff: Bouncers were nice and friendly. Bartenders served good drinks. The Drinks: - Rum and Coke: Strong and tasty. - Hennessy Orange (and some other thing): Pretty good. - Water: Ask for it, it is free, stay hydrated. The Venue: - They have a VIP and common area. I went with the common people and had a good time dancing to some old hip-hop tunes and some new ones that I've never heard of before. The crowd is decent. Dancefloor a bit sticky, but that is a problem caused by the drinkers not the venue. Free to enter on Friday so one can check out the vibe. - NOTE: This is now called "StrangeLove." Is it the same owners and staff from "China Blue," I don't know. But this is the first rating of StrangeLove nightclub. Upshot: If dancing is your thing, I think trying out the trio of Humping Hannah's, Roddy's, and StrangeLove gives one good variety to check out. Oh China Blue, how do I even begin to describe you? This place is basically all of my 16 year old party fantasies fulfilled - strobe lights, music so loud it leaves my ears ringing for 20 minutes after I leave, and a dance floor that, no doubt, wants to be occupied. Drinks: Truthfully, I don't drink when I come here. Because, you know, "Safety First". The nightlife draws an interesting crowd and if I am going to let myself unwind with a drank or two it is not here. Don't get me wrong - they've got bouncers surrounding the place, but at the same time, in a dark/loud club I like to keep all of my good judgement making abilities in tact. So there's that. "So...if you're not drinking, what are you even doing here?" So glad you asked. Like I said, this place is the fulfillment of my 16 year old fantasies which leaves me with one reason as to why I come here - to freakin' dance! I might not take in any liquid courage for my night outings to China, but everyone else there sure does. This is great - it means that no one will remember me or my AWESOME (errr, awkward?) dance moves. Seriously though, the DJ's and emcees they have here are super fun and create a really great mix of songs that keep ya movin'. I don't understand how anyone can complain about the cost of this place. My friends and I came here on a Friday night. There was a happy hour from 9-11. PM. First of all, that is two hours, not one. So that's a bonus already. Second of all, that is the most lenient happy hour scheduling I have ever heard of. Getting out of your house by 11pm in Boise warrants a reward? Hell yeah. What's up with the happy hour? Well, $2 beers and $3 you-call-its. Are you kidding? So they gouge you after happy hour then, right? Nope. $3 beers and $4 well drinks. How could anyone complain about this, ever? I have been on airplanes that charge me more to go to the bathroom. I have stayed at hotels where the ice costs twice as much as the most expensive drink you could buy at prime time on a Friday night here. This place is as cheap as it gets. And it seemed like the coolest/only club in downtown Boise, anyway. To top it all off, there was a five-week long EDM DJ competition going on when we were there. People watching GOLD. We actually came here for happy hour, went somewhere else after, and then came back to finish off the night. It was that worthwhile. read more

By far the worst experience I've had there, they need to figure a better system on cinco de mayo I was told 250 for a table and then Jerrell told me 300 and when I got there it jump to 330 keep in mind I was basically fighting to get into the club the bouncer kept telling me I had to wait in line for general admission what's the point of paying $330 and not being able to get it in? My group and I were just getting yelled at back and fourth to stand in one spot then told to stand in another spot. Basically hat should've taken 5 min took 30-45. When we did get in we sat there twiddling our thumbs waiting for someone to serve us drinks (bottle service) instead majority of us went to the bar and ordered one which seemed to be Easier than playing the waiting game. read more

This was the first club that I ever went to in Boise and I thought it was going to be lame (sorry!) But this one was pretty decent. Bar, dance floor, coat and purse section and a pretty huge women's bathroom (plus!) As well as a VIP section. This place is terrible. The floor is so sticky that your shoes can be torn right off your feet. The bartenders are very mean, especially the young asian lady there. If you want to dance, you have to pass by all the judgmental folks sitting down and pass through a mob of guys watching all the ladies dance. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN. This place brings in a sketchy 'Caldwell' crowd that has a tense vibe. This was a Saturday night. I felt like a fight was going to break out at any moment as I watched from upstairs and what do you know... It happened right behind me. As I turned around, a glass bottle was smashed right over this guys head in front of me and a piece of glass flew by and skimmed my eye! The lack of security is a huge risk in this place and it's a joke. It took a whole 1-2 minutes until the fight was "lightly" broken up. I say the term lightly because Seattle bouncers will grab you by the collar and toss you out on the street so fast that a fight wouldn't even happen. They don't even pat you down when they check your ID here. Anybody could bring in a knife, shank, brass knuckles, or a gun.
