    Beautiful place

We added our name to the list... it was a busy morning..... they said 25 minutes... our table was ready in 10.... Jacob was our server.... He was very patient with all of us female's.... all wanting this and that... Jacob was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the area... we kept him hopping and he did a great job of keeping up... They're pretty strict with breakfast and lunch menu times... We all ordered different kinds of food... I haven't been disappointed yet... We parked in the parking structure... a few blocks from the beach...

The overall experience was disappointing due to a clear lack of quality control and execution. The fried chicken tenders were unusually dark (overcooking or poor oil management). The flavor and texture reflected that as well. The Hawaiian kimchi fried rice (?)wasn't actually fried. The kimchi tasted raw and barely warmed, mixed into hot rice without proper cooking. It felt unfinished and difficult to eat--I only had a couple of bites before stopping. What made this more concerning was noticing that another table also left more than half of their fried rice untouched, suggesting this wasn't an isolated issue. Overall, the food felt overthought yet under-executed. Some dishes lacked a clear identity and came across as confused rather than intentional. If the kitchen isn't confident in executing certain dishes, it would be better to remove them from the menu entirely. Restaurants should serve food that guests can reasonably enjoy and finish. Creativity is welcome, but it needs to be supported by clarity, consistency, and proper execution--unfortunately, that balance was missing here.

High/ low is a solid brunch spot with spectacular views. I've tried a few things on the menu, but the spicy BLT is my favorite. I love coming here and sitting outside on nice days. Service is a bit slow, but other than that it's great!

Decent joint. Service was fantastic. I had the Hash (was not what I was used to, but was decent), and my wife had a pancakes and sausage. I thought her sausage was delish. We both enjoyed a couple cocktails. Not bad. Love that they are dog friendly. Overall was an average experience. Nothing really "Wowed" us.

This place was great! The location and setting is perfect being right across the beach. The vanilla latte was good. I also got the breakfast burrito (I ate it before any pictures) and it was great! The service was friendly and had good recommendations.

Had a lovely lunch here at High/Low. They have a great outside patio which has nice ocean views from across the street.. The menu has a variation of offerings leaning towards brunch/lunch. I had the grilled cheese & tomato soup & my friend had a yummy egg scramble dish. Friendly & attentive servers. Good spot to bring out of towners

Great breakfast location near the ocean. Make reservations to avoid long wait. You can enjoy a latte while you wait which is delicious. Spent Christmas morning here studying enjoying my coffee which was refreshing. The location is right accross the pier and decor is hip concrete modern inside and oceaside beach wood outside. The staff is always welcoming and very attentive. Would recommend this place.

Lovely place to enjoy a drink and appetizers on the patio. Especially liked the garlic fries topped with shaved Parmesan. Waiters are friendly and efficient. Been here three times in a week and will be our go-to while on vacation. Steps from the beach with a great view.

I've been trying this business out since I moved here and they still don't disappoint... my group loved the food. Eggs were cooked perfect, waffles were delicious, tater tots are a little oily so can't eat too many of them but I love the crunch, the clamp chowder was good- not too creamy but make sure you love bacon because its a bit overwhelming in flavor, and the Bloody Marry was great. The view of the ocean is pretty much blocked by the plants in front of the outside dining area, I wish it was more open for the view but you can venture out after dining for an amazing walk down to the beach or at the Pier. The wait was about 20 minuets on Sunday, they didnt take reservations. Enjoy!

I've been coming to high/low since it's opening around 5 years ago. The food (classic Southern California/American fare) is consistently delicious. The cocktails are fresh and inventive. When I am wanting a coffee + pastry and a walk on the beach, I love to get an Americano and their almond croissant and stroll the pier. When I want to grab lunch with a friend or bring a guest from out of town to a restaurant with an ocean view, high/low is at the top of my list! I came today with a friend and we enjoyed lunch. She had the rockfish ceviche and I had the chicken and avocado sando. And we both chose a little sparkling wine to go with. The sando was great, with the bread being perfectly buttered and lightly toasted. I was grateful to the server for the suggestion of swapping out the coleslaw for sweet potato fries. My friend said the ceviche, which is served with plantain chips was so good, she ended up scooping up the juice with a spoon! Recieved excellent service- chill, knowledgable about the menu and friendly. The price for a sit down meal is somewhat expensive, but worth it. Will happily pay for scrumptious food and an oceanfront view. High/Low is located in front of and attached to the Mission Pacific Hotel. Parking can be a challenge, but there is a Pay lot nearby and metered street parking. Looking forward to going back soon!

We were staying at the hotel here & wanted breakfast that was close . We shared the Ultimate Oside Breakfast Burrito . This was really good . Big enough to share . It had bacon , eggs, tots, cheese , salsa verde which was really yummy - picked jalapeños. We also had a piece of banana bread that was thick & yummy . The views are amazing of the ocean . We ate outside . The waitress was helpful & nice . They are only open until 7pm . If you are in the area I recommend it . They have Coke products

I was immediately greeted and welcomed by Scott, the fabulous owner who preps and makes all the food himself. He was cleaning and chopping up sweet potatoes when he asked what I wanted or do I need more time. Being ADHD and vegan and first time there, yes I needed more time. I am way too used to going out to eat at other restaurants and having only 1-2 options... so totally stoked the entire menu and restaurant is vegan!!!! I decided to get tbe fysh tacos and a lavender lemonade to eat there and a buffalo chickun pizza for later as a recommendation from Scott. My sister in law sat in covered patio that had cute seating, plants everywhere and a wonderful breeze being so close to the beach, it was walking distance. I could smell the aromas from the kitchen too, so that's always nice. The food was exceptionally fresh, crunchy and delicious. The sauce was exceptional and was tangy and a little bit of heat. They were decent size mini tacos and I didn't realize how hungry I was but totally housed them. Yum! Just before I paid, Scott presented me with my takeout pizza and showed me what it looked like. It smelled amazing and it looked artistic! Needless to say, I will be coming back soon and telling all my vegan friends about this place if they don't know about it. I'm also talking my picky family members, they did not like when I took them to the Plot which is about a mile or so away. I wasn't as impressed with the competition either. The plot was on the expensive side, but portion size doesn't match up and I left feeling hungry there. Scott gives you a coupon for a return visit, which I will definitely use. A million stars yes for Scott and his restaurant! Thank you for a wonderful experience and keeping vegans from starving!

I loved my blt. The two Caesar salads for the table disappeared quickly because their dressing is unbelievable! Let's see .... what didn't we eat is probably smarter than what did we eat. Beet ketchup, The C Word (braised cabbage), a couple of cronic sushi rolls, and there was a special lemon creme brûlée. Everyone enjoyed everything they ate, including my almost 3 year old grandson (they brought out a specially sliced fruit bowl for him). They offered many choices for kids, but he just wanted fruit. Hope you had as wonderful a Mother's Day as I did. Yes. We appreciated eating healthy and not walking away stuffed but instead satisfied. They were selling plants.
