I explained my situation to Perik and he kindly got a phone charger and let me sit and charge my completely dead phone. I usually don't go out of my way to leave reviews, good or bad, but this was so terrible I felt the need to warn others. This was by far the worst pizza I've ever eaten and that includes those little microwaveable ones from Costco. Even the garlic twist was difficult to get through. The dough was dry and tasteless and I bit into something hard that I still haven't identified what it is yet. I wish the pizza was tasteless; I choked down one piece and had such a horrible aftertaste in my mouth from cheap salty ingredients, I was done. You know that episode of the Office where the crew is disappointed because Michael ordered pizzas from the inferior Alfredo's? Yeah, I'd rather eat the hot circle of garbage from Pizza by Alfredo. OMG I was expecting the pizza to be pretty straightforward but they kinda blew my mind. I'm a vegetarian and my favorite was the paneer tikka pizza (what?!). There were so many delicious flavors and I loved the 2 textures of cheese -- paneer & mozzarella. We also got chicken tikka pizza, margarita pizza, and my brother got a special chicken sandwich. The pizzas were pretty fudging bomb. I especially liked the chewiness and flavor of the crust (I'm from New York, so I'm super picky about pizza crust). The chicken sandwich my brother got was specially made for him by the owner and the chicken breast looked fresh, juicy, and delicious. I tried a bite without the chicken. The fluffy buttery brioche bun plus the Tennessee hot sauce and the grilled onions were RIDICULOUS. My brother loved it and I debated asking for a grilled onion sandwich. Fun place to watch the game and get lively with people who are also loud and passionate. They have actual signed warriors jerseys and other sports memorabilia and it's cool being able to yell at the TV and get into the game with others. The pizzas are good, nothing beats a pizza straight from the oven but I also recommend their burgers. They are larger and more delicious than fast food burgers. I got the Swiss mushroom one recently and it was like a higher end version of the one McDonald's served for a brief period. Great pizza, burger, and fries and a cool Place to hang out and watch a game. Love all the tvs playing basketball and I'll come with friends for dinner and we'll hang around with drinks until the game ends. Okay, I'm a terrible pizza snob. I mean I'll eat any ole' pizza, but I'll complain a lot. I've always held Round Table to be the best pizzas and I've held that view for 30+ years. That said, I was driving by this place a bunch of times and we finally got around to trying it. Round Table has met its match. Great pizza and a GREAT PRICE. Got a pepperoni and linguica pizza and it was delicious. We will be back! My only little complaint is that when you pick up a pizza ordered online, the signs lead you to the front of the store instead of the back where pickup actually is. I brought my family to this location to celebrate one of my daughters Birthday dinner. We were very impressed with everything about this establishment. We were accomadated quickly by the hostess for a party of 10. There were multiple televisions to entertain the sports enthusiasts, sports memorabilia is awesome!! The entire vibe was great. What use to be Chili's for years is now Straw Hat Pizza Grille! Who knew it was a going to be a pizza place?! The interior is the same except with their own personal touches of sports memorabilia, lighting, and service. It was a little confusing at first. I wasn't sure if we were able to seat ourselves, or wait to be seated. The owner finally came by and introduced himself and sat me to a comfy booth. Bf came shortly after and we were able to order right away. Our waitress is really friendly despite having somewhat of a packed place. The rundown: Pepperoni pizza (Large) - It's a standard large although the pizza is a thinner. I mean, it's not as thin as NY style pizza but it certainly is thinner than a regular pan style pizza... if that makes any sense at all. The taste? Yummy! Bf and I have had our share with many different styles of pizza and this one was pretty damn good. Buffalo Wings - YAAAAAM, yes not YUM, but YAAAAAAM. Their Buffalo wings were slammin'. We called in an order on a Friday night for a large half meteor, half garlic chicken. There's not an option online to customize for half/half pizzas. The operator seemed frazzled, or they didn't have enough practice with the system. Pickup in 15 minutes. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and the pizza was ready for pickup. They offered ranch too. Cheese and red pepper packets and plates ready to go. We didn't really need disposable plates but used them cause they gave them. Nice if you were picnicking or something. Ranch was very thin, not great ranch. The ingredients individually seemed good, solid quality, but there was just something missing about the taste of the pizzas. The crust is like mountain mikes, except thinner, not really bready. Everything was very dry, there wasn't enough sauce or cheese. There wasn't any grease on the pizza, if that's your preference. I'm writing this review as a result of a New York Style Pizza Challenge at my work. The reviews are based on MY FEELINGS of the pizza and no one else. Since we had some pizza Die-Hards in attendance, we had to split the pizzas up with Cheese and Cheese/Pepperoni, but the ratings are based on the CHEESE pizza only. Even though Straw Hat isn't a NY Style Pizza, we threw it in there as a Wild Card. Looks: 8/10 Price: 7/10 Flavor: 8/10 New Yorkness: 1/10 (I can't with a clear conscience factor this into the rating) Overall "Feel": 8/10 *(Not included in Rating) Pepperoni: 9/10 Total: 31/40 = 78% (C+) Overall, the pizza looked appetizing and the cheese was out of control (in a good way). Obviously, it's not NY Style, but the flavor was there. The sauce was a little on the sweeter side, but some people liked that. If I'm not eating NY Style, I could eat this pizza with no problem, but there are a few other California Style places I would rather go to. read more

The food was very good. The quality is what I had been waiting for since they moved the old Straw Hat away from Landess Ave. I had ordered the Veggie pizza and a Combination, Wings and Poppers. Everything tasted excellent and the only thing I had a problem with was the AP. Apparently, the AP is through SLICE? They only give you minimal ways to edit your pizza choices and that's a shame. I wanted to try it and now I see why I do not like APs I should have called. The pizza was wrong but I was able to call and speak to the manager and he sent me the correct one. He too explained the AP SLICE allows minimal changing features. I wanted only half the pizza to have an item added and then they sent the pizza with 1/2 only that item I would order from Straw Hat again but I will do so person to person. Happy Hour M-F, 2-6 can't go wrong with that! Prices are great and so is the food. The Pastrami Hot Hat has always been a favorite of mine, can't find anything else like it anywhere. Well proportioned with the pastrami and cheese, bread is cooked just right with that little bit of crunch to the bun. Their pizza's are pretty tasty too! After several emails & phone calls/messages, I was contacted by a manager who was very apologetic for my experience. He said they would provide my ordered meal to me at no charge, which has now happened. He even personally drove it over to my house, again apologizing for the mix up and assuring me his staff had been addressed to make sure the same situation does not repeat itself. Great to have a new pizza place nearby! My family usually only has a handful of choices, so we were happy to see an unfamiliar pizza place. We decided to have Straw Hat for dinner on a Friday night. One thing that was a disappointing was that they didn't have an Online Ordering system on their website. It says it's they don't have that as an option yet. So I went to Yelp to order through GrubHub. When I first looked at the menu, the first thing I saw were the Garlic Parmesan Twists, which I'm guessing is similar to the ones at Round Table. When looking to order pizzas, it was a little confusing. They had specialty pizzas where there were already toppings on it and then they had cheese pizzas and 1-topping pizzas. There was no option to add more toppings. And even if you chose the 1-topping option, it doesn't have options to let you choose. So because of this, I had to call in the order. I ordered a large pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms, an individual cheese pizza, and a 12ct of the garlic parmesan twists. The guy who took my order said it would be done in 15 minutes! I thought that was pretty quick for what I ordered, but it's way quicker than waiting 30-45min for Round Table. When I arrived, there was a line of people inside at the register: ordering and pick ups. There were social distancing markers on the ground, but it made us slightly nervous that there was already 10 of us inside as customers in the store and I didn't see a sign for maximum capacity. Another thing was that the cashier offers paper plates, but they're not in a box or a plastic bag to protect it from coughing or sneezing. It's just sitting on the counter out in the open. Our pizzas were pretty good. I feel like the pizzas needed more cheese. The amount toppings were perfect. It was a on the smaller size for a Large ($26). And the garlic parmesan twists need some improvement. It was a little bland. It just tasted like bread, butter, and garlic. It needs more seasoning and definitely more parmesan. You can't even taste the parmesan. Our total was about $41, which isn't bad. We'll probably come back to try a specialty pizza and maybe their pasta too. read more
