They place Shelter Diversion Managers in shelters with very…read morehigh intake numbers, try to assist with medical if it helps a family keep their pet, assist with spay or neuter for folks in the community who are likely to surrender a dog or cat because they can't afford to sterilize their animal. They assist with diverting medical dogs and cats who would be subject to euthanasia if surrendered, then they diligently screen applications to select the best adopters and provide a care package to get rehoming off to a success ful start... Follow up with adopters to assure that they are a good fit after adoption and post the before and after stories and updates on adopters as permitted... they really go above and beyond the norm for every single animal in their care. I have worked with the main office and have had more contact with the Diversion Manager Krista Dunlop in San Bernardino...I don't know how to describe the dedication above what rescues generally do.. that Lange Foundation exceeds... Every visit to their campus in Los Angeles, I see staff and volunteers out exercising and training the dogs in their care, as well as staff and volunteers socializing the kitties... they have every need met and every single animal I have met are happy and loved on daily while in their care...if you are considering adding a pet to your family, I can not recommend any organization higher than this one for your consideration... If you can not adopt, foster, if you can't foster, volunteer and if you can not volunteer, please donate to the medical needs and overall care of the animals in their care... GUARANTEED YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT...

We've foster failed a couple dogs, helped place another through our online community, and poured a lot of time, care, and emotional energy into helping these animals. Despite that, we were repeatedly met with rude, dismissive, and condescending communication from staff, coordinators, and even veterinary partners both via email and when we would take the foster in for appointments. What was most frustrating was seeing the urgency around training and behavioral support suddenly disappear once they learned we were moving forward with adoption. The concern for the dog's behavioral needs no longer seemed to matter in the same way. Given the adoption fee of $500, we also expected a much higher level of communication, support, and behavioral follow-through than what was ultimately provided. Rescue work should be rooted in compassion for both the animals and the people volunteering to help them. Unfortunately, the way we were treated made it clear we will not be fostering with this organization again, and I would encourage others to think carefully before fostering, supporting, or adopting through them.

The suggestion donation was a bit high ($900), but they said for pure bread or dogs that are high in demand, the prices are right so it can pay for the dogs that are not being adopted. I found that to be caring and true, I do not mind spending a little more to ensure they take care of all the injured animals at the shelter. The people there really love animals and take care of them, I did not feel like this was a money making operation. It truly felt like all the money was going to be used for food, shelter, and medicine. I highly recommend this place.

Only to realize already in the process that no these dogs are bejng bred and sold and used for "puppy parties" selling to just anyone off the street. Which is terrible the way things in Los angeles are. They did not even question me they just wanted the cash to give me the dog. There was no process and it was clear they wanted money. DO NOT USE THIS "foundation" if you care about the wellness of doggies out there especially with this cruel pandemic going on. If you have knowledge on animal rescue you know how terrible and ignored things are right now.

My second experience was terrible. After my puppy was killed while with me on leash by a reckless driver, I later returned to L&L to look for a new baby. Different set of employees, and both my nephew and I were shocked that one of them seemed to blame me for my puppy being killed. He was rude, insensitive to the circumstance, and he did all he could to throw up roadblocks to helping me. He was an expressionless jerk who had zero empathy or professionalism. I contacted the manager about this, and though she three times promised to call me back, she never did. This is heartless behavior for a place that is supposed to be doing good. I will never go back to that place again. The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because my first experience with them was good. That appears to have been an anomaly. I adopted a pup from Best Friends West LA, which I cannot recommend enough.

We adopted our dog, Toto, from them back in August. They bring dogs from West LA shelter every…read moremorning, except Tuesday. The dogs stay at the healthy spot all day. The place is clean and inviting and the animals are in great care. Toto was a great fit for us, we fostered him for a few weeks until we decided to adopt him. Happy to know he was in good hands before we got him!

We have had two rescued dogs from Used Pets. Both are wonderful additions to our family. When Bos'n…read morepassed away summer before last, we remembered her adoption from Used Pets some 15 years earlier. So then we rescued Croquie a year ago Christmas. She is a wonderful pal to Henry, who missed Bos'n and loves his new pal. Henry is also rescued from family in Arizona who could not handle his high spirits... Thank you Used Pets for wonderful work!

Harry is quite old now but still has the spirit and soul of the puppy we fell in love with. Cate told us she thought he was a Aussie cattle/lab mix and upon having a DNA test at 13 years old we found out she was spot on (with some Chow, Doberman and other bits mixed in). He has been a constant source of love and companionship to all in our family. Everyday is a gift and we will always be grateful to Cate and her dedication to matching loving animals with their humans.

You can tell this place genuinely prioritizes making it a warm, comfortable space for the cats while they wait for their forever home. It's not a shelter -- it feels like a home. The staff made the whole adoption experience seamless. Jude especially was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable -- exactly the kind of person you want guiding you through the process. The rest of the team matched that same energy, and it made everything feel easy and stress-free from start to finish. My girlfriend and I couldn't be happier -- we found our girl Pinky, and she's already stolen our hearts. 10 out of 10, would recommend this café to anyone thinking about adopting. However the staff are some of the most wonderful people and absolutely cares for their flurry friends without question. The cats are given full access to the whole space, they own the place and we are just guests. Most of them are absolutely comfortable with people walking around so you can tell they are definitely well treated. They do have a coffee bar that I ended up getting a black. Coffee is decent, but you didn't come here for the coffee. You came to spend time with flurry friends. Prices are very reasonable as well. You can't go wrong if you just want a couple hours away from the busy day and be accompanied by some very friendly cats! If you are looking to adopt a cat they do work with KittenRescue so you are in wonderful hands. The process is smooth, quick, and just overall a very pleasant experience.

We met "Greyson" at the East Valley Shelter in Van Nuys and was scheduled to euthanized on 4/17 because of a condition called Enteopion, where the eyelids grow inward. So his lashes have been irritating his eyes his whole life. The surgery is expensive, we went home and did our research calling several Pitbull rescues. So many amazing people lead us to Mahkala, who is connected with PetSpace. We were then connected with Patricia was able to get the surgery approved, if we agreed to Foster to Adopt. She picked up Greyson from the pound and took him to get the surgery. We picked him up, and after 2 weeks of shepherding him through his healing, took him back to PetSpace to have his stitches removed. The only hiccups we've had was unclear communication at times. In dealing with several other folks via text, email, our valid and pertinent questions seemed to be more of an annoyance and not answering. "We don't have that info" or "It hasn't been updated in our system" were frequent answers to our inquiries pertain to the dog. The facility is wonderful, the store is pricy which was kind of surprising. I believe the people here know it's a special place. Grayson - now name Trueba is healing up, his hair is growing in post op and is a sweet 80+ pound squishy love that has a new lease on life.

They have you take off your shoes but they have a some "socks" for ya and a shoe rack and a place to hang your purses. They really do care for these kitties so much and do so much work to help socialize them. Thumper was their newest cat when I got there and so if you see them please give them a huge cuddle! I love that they let the cats in the bathroom if they wanna hide or get some space (so put the toilet seat down!) What a great place to relax with kitties or come with some friends for a hangout

You can choose between different times for a small fee to help the kitties. All cats are up for adoption $150 for 1 cat and $250 for 2 cats. Treats are available for $3 a pack. Super cute place
