I went for the introductory facessage which was supposed to be 45 minutes but lasted for 25 minutes instead. The therapist first tried to apply oil underneath my work clothes and I had to change into a t shirt-they let me use a loaner-but this should have been provided up front. No mention of this was in the email confirming my appointment. The list of oils was provided in a darkened room in fine print and I couldn't read it. Luckily no reaction. read more

I stopped by this Stretch'd after seeing a Face*ssage sign outside of the storefront. I've not really seen many wellness spots offer facial massage as a dedicated service, so I was curious to try it out. I did two separate half hour sessions with Valeria, who is super sweet and has a simultaneously firm yet gentle touch. You're given the option to choose from several aromatherapy oils and CBD or magnesium cream for your session. The massage begins with your neck, back, and decolletage, and then your therapist works on your face and jaw. As someone who suffers from TMJ, I experienced so much relief in my masseters. I actually noticed at my second appointment (I came back, because it was so good!) that I was much less tense and tender in the area. I don't think it will solve my problem, but it's definitely something to consider in your pain management rotation if that is something that affects you as well. I recently went for my first Stretch. The overall space is very nice, clean and bright. The rooms for the private stretches are spacious. I liked the series of stretches that the person did on me, and the fact that in some instances I was 'strapped in' at times, to ensure that the upper or lower half of my body stayed put on the table, while they were working the opposite part of my body. I'm a pretty flexible person, overall, and I am also good at listening to my body. If something doesn't feel right to me, or I feel I've had enough/that I might be overdoing it, I stop. I prefer to err on the side of caution, vs having to later potentially regret it. There were a few times where it felt like the practitioner was pushing me a bit too much beyond my comfort zone, but yet, it wasn't quite enough for me to say something. Another time however, it definitely felt like too much, and so I nicely told her that it was so. My point is, I think people who are new to this practice and/or who might be working with a new/different person at this space, need to exercise caution. If you happen to be someone who's already very tight, And you are the type of person who doesn't know to Listen to your own body and/or are unable to speak up and tell the practitioner if/when they are pushing you too hard, then you could run the risk of getting hurt. The onus is really on you, the customer, to advocate for yourself and communicate with the technician. As mentioned, as good as I am with flexibility, listening to my body, and communicating with the technician, afterwards, I was pretty sore in certain parts of my body (and it didn't feel like a 'good sore'). Never thought having someone else stretch you would be so rewarding. This location is clean, spacious and comfortable. Bruce at the flatiron location provided my stretching sessions. He is very professional, thorough and receptive to my body's limitation's. At 55 I need to be aware of my joint health. Bruce professional skills is a positive addition to my personal Stretch routine by making me aware of my range of motion, stretches I should focus on and limitations. Would have never though of spending money to have someone stretch me but if I am willing to pay a physical trainer an arm and a leg to teach me workout routines it makes sense to spread that cost between physical training and stretching so to better optimize my body and its ability to recover and grow. read more

I've been going to Stretch'd over the last year or so and the place is legit. The location itself is very clean with nice decor appropriate for the type of services provided. The staff at the front desk have always been very kind and professional. I've only been doing the Flex'd single session so that is the only service I can comment on. I was very impressed by how much knowledge Stretchers had regarding how all the parts of the body are connected in terms of movement. This really helps them understand what may be causing pain or tightness and what stretches can help. I've seen multiple Stretchers and all have been more than professional, kind, and knowledgeable. I've recently been seeing Kate Z., who has been helping me with lower back issues. The stretches in the session and that she recommended I do on my own have really helped relieve pain and made me more flexible. read more

If i could give Strech'd 10 stars I would ! I have had a lower backache for months and even a chiropractor couldn't fix it. Today after my stretched experience is my first day not waking up with a backache. It was amazing. I limped into Stretch*d, the wellness center/urban oasis in Chelsea, with sore quadriceps and a strained IT-band from spinning. I was escorted to the new "Staycation" room that houses several infrared-heated, high speed Body Roll*r machines for a 50-minute, hands-free lymphatic massage. While the claim that the large whirling cylinders with hundreds of smooth bumps will slim you down is unproven, studies have clearly shown that massages of any kind soothe and restore strained muscles and release endorphins that promotes relaxation. I was told to follow the monitor display that features a fit man and woman demonstrating the various body positions (feet, thighs, abs, back, glutes, and arms) to get the most comfortable pressure to each muscle group. One could easily mistake a roller session with a more intimate pursuit because the inner thigh position involves straddling the machine. Innuendos aside, make sure to use a cushion to protect your knees while sitting astride the roller, tuck in loose clothing or hair that might get caught, avoid joints, and go easy on injuries because you might experience some bruising and soreness the next day. I started my session massaging the soles of my feet. After a few minutes, the monitor beeped to alert me to change positions. I especially enjoyed the gentle warmth of the heat lamp on my achy spots. I left the studio feeling looser and more relaxed, and my legs definitely felt better afterwards (although they did feel slightly tender the next day). The Body Roller is great for runners and other athletes, and for those who want to avoid contact with another human during the pandemic. It may be just the thing for New Yorkers with zoom fatigue. read more

Well, the space is lovely and it smells wonderful and the music is loud and the decor is nice. I love watching stretching videos on Instagram so when I saw a post for this place I decided to give it a try! Well it was the most painful and uncomfortable hour of my life. Jeff is not very friendly and just did not act like he wanted to be there at all. The session was done mostly in silence and I had no idea what was going to happen next. A lot of the stretches were painful and not ones I've ever been able to comfortably been able to do in the past without warming up first (now I know why Bikram yoga was invented). There really is no need to stretch every single body part to this degree. I suppose if you had a problem with your hamstrings it would benefit you, but I feel like afterwards I had back pain that wasn't there before. My neck was the most uncomfortable part, I've avoided chiropractors who would touch my neck because it's just very sensitive and the stretches done at Stretch'd we're so extreme and quick I felt like I had whiplash. I was dizzy for about a week afterwards and felt faint when I would look down to eat. The most irritating part was I was basically instructed to tip 20% afterwards as I was checking out. I think the most alarming thing to me was no one on staff holds a degree in healthcare that involves patient care. I don't think you need a license of any sort to be a "stretcher", which is terrifying because they are handling people and putting them through extreme motions! A lot of the people on the website are simply into "dance", "yoga", "acting", and one played "basketball". I was on the track team in high school, does that make me qualified to work here? So I always wished that the was a place to stretch me out. Sure the do it in PT, but for like 5 minutes with no lasting effect. As a persons who super flexible and hyperextends it is hard for me to stretch myself. Well... my prayers have been answered!!!! I read about this place a few months ago and happened to pass by it the other day and decided to pop in to find out what is about. The next day I went back for a 25 minute stretch to see if it was worth it! The place is super clean and cute. Good vibes all around and cute decor. While I waited I sat with a heated wrap around my neck while I. A massage chair and my feet in a massage foot capsule. I also took a peek at all the cbd goodies they have to offer...from lotions to gummies! (Will be back for a few of these). I had a stretcher named Haily! She worked on my entire body and paid special attention to my neck and shoulder where I hold my tension. OMG, it was pretty amazing! I will definitely be back and booking a longer session. I have to say it might even replace the need to get a massage. I would recommend to anyone who is flexible and hyperextends, works out on a constant basis or even a couch potato (I'm sure sitting on a couch can cause stiffness too). My stretch with Jeff was amazing! I had never been stretched by someone before aside from really short stretches at the end of personal training sessions- and this was really different. You lay on a table and your stretcher takes your limbs and guides your body through repetitive stretching movwments. They make it a point to never go too far and always being careful of if you're in pain. Jeff asked what my main points of concern were and addressed my back pain, as well gave me some at home stretches that would be good to continue. I left feeling so much taller and relaxed! I came here for the 25-minute quick stretch. It is a personal goal of mine this year to increase the amount of time that I spend stretching. I found it to be very helpful. There is a sales area in front of different products. I think the place could be less scented but it is very clean. There are changing rooms and bathrooms. There is a stretching room per client and there is a table in each room that you lie down on. You are strapped onto the table as the stretches are performed. When you sign in you indicate what areas of the body you would like focused on and how much you would like the staff to talk during the session. I thought the session was very good and will be going back. It is expensive at $45 per 25 min session. They do take HSA and FSA money but of course, that is up to your insurance provider if they will accept this charge. The session must be booked and paid for in advance and they do not accept cash. read more

This place is so much better than I expected. I've seen David B a few times and he really is amazing. He takes a wholistic (even philosophical?) approach. We talked, but only ever as much as I wanted to. He was thoughtful in his explanations of the stretching and careful in his technique. It can be a vulnerable experience having someone else stretch you, especially in such a spartan/clinical environment that is Stretch*d (there's a sports therapy/physio vibe to the space) but David made me feel so comfortable and at ease with the process, even when he was testing my limits. I would even say it's transformative. I haven't been to any of the other people there - I really got lucky with being able to see David on my first time. I highly recommend it. read more

AMAAAAZING. Whether you're training for a triathlon and want to avoid injury or looking to fix imbalances after long hours sitting in front of the computer (me), this is what you need. It's like a home stretch session x 100 in terms of results (and accuracy in terms of doing the stretches optimally). Did a session with Eberly who was very knowledgeable and was happy to provide feedback on what felt tight or imbalanced and needed continued work at home.
