Way better than a massage! Jessica is amazing. I think this is going to improve my golf game.

KidStrong is a child development program designed for kids from walking age up to 11 years old…read more They pitch themselves as a kind of CrossFit or Orangetheory Fitness for kids: high-energy, functional movement mixed with emotional coaching and confidence-building. The idea is to develop "brain, body, and character" through weekly classes that blend physical activity, social skills, and motivation, according to their website. So, think of it as part gym session, part group therapy-lite, and part TED talk for kids. I enrolled my 4-year-old daughter in the 3 to 4 year old class. She is not naturally athletic, but she loves it. Like most kids her age, she enjoys running around and climbing on things, and KidStrong provides a structured, safe space to do just that. Each class kicks off with loud affirmations like "I am strong! I am Brave! I can do this!" Then they run around the gym a few times, add a bear crawl sometimes. Then the kids tackle an obstacle course that challenges their climbing, jumping, and balancing skills. Afterward, they break into teams for a competition. When we went they had to pushing a sled back and forth. When she wasn't sure how to handle parts of the course, the coaches, who are upbeat and genuinely seem to work well with kids, were helping her through it. That kind of hands-on coaching should help build confidence. Now for the logistics. Two coaches trying to manage about a dozen toddlers? It was about as chaotic as you'd expect. The action is constantly broken up with water breaks, emotional check-ins, breathing exercises, and riddles (I guess this is the cognitive part). It's a solid concept, but most of the kids tune out the "feelings and breathing" stuff, they're just waiting to run again. At the end, a few kids get awards and photos, which feels like more of a marketing move for KidStrong's social media than meaningful recognition, but the kids eat it up, naturally. Parents watch from the bleachers, getting a front-row seat to the semi-controlled chaos. The price? For us, it costs $159 a month (May 2025 prices) for one class a week (4x a month). That's steep, no doubt. But it's not wildly different from what you'd shell out for gymnastics or other kids' sports. If you want your kid to burn off energy in a clean, air-conditioned environment with some emotional coaching sprinkled in, KidStrong delivers. The facility is clean, and the fact that kids do''t need to wear socks makes me hopeful they mop the floors. For toddlers who are just walking up to 2 years old, parents have to be on the gym floor helping out. Older kids get more freedom while parents watch from the sidelines. Overall, KidStrong is a fun, safe, and positive space. The CrossFit-for-kids vibe is pretty cool, and if your kid enjoys running, climbing, and a bit of friendly competition, it's a good fit. The motivational speeches and emotional coaching might be surface level, but honestly, I wish something like this existed when I was a kid. If you want a high-energy program that mixes movement and mindset for your little one, KidStrong is worth checking out.
