This place has some very different and delicious menu items that you won't see at a typical fast food joint. First is the pork burger, which is really juicy and delicious. My personal issue with this burger is that it's huge--2x quarter pound(?) pork patties makes for a huge amount of food. Of course I always say I won't eat the entire thing....but I always do. Honestly not super impressed. As a southern girl I have high standards for chicken, fries, fried jalapeños and pickles. It didn't really reach my standards. The ranch was superrrrrr weird and I am a big ranch girl. (I was later informed by the owner that it is in fact NOT ranch, they don't carry ranch so that would explain it. Very meh. My chickens strips were fine and fries were mediocre. Donuts were DELISH. I wouldn't order the fried jalapeños or pickles again. The honey mustard was phenomenal. May go back to try the BBQ sandwiches. This place was SLAMMED though so it's obviously popular so maybe give it a try and see for yourself! EDIT TO ADD: Alright here's the deal. I'm editing this review for the THIRD time. Food was mediocre. Great reviews so try if you want. Food deserved a 2 star rating because of popularity, cleanliness of restaurant, and donuts. Nothing fancy here. Though many show 5 stars, I cannot get there. Food was sub-par. Ordered the tenderloin and, well since it says food is made fresh, was expecting a nice hot sandwich. Did not happen, it was not even warm. Fries were cold and sub- par as well. Though not all was great, there was one good thing. The sauce on the tenderloin was good, but WAY overloaded!! Would I recommend, well for the cost, if you REALLY have to have chicken and cannot wait to get to Chick-fil-A or slim chicken's, then go for it! For me, I will move on and find somewhere else. As far as the restaurant itself, looked clean, but while I waited the whole 2 minutes for made fresh food, I could not help but smell a dirty bathroom smell over the place. So, maybe those who were working just had not done their due diligence in preparing the place for service. UPDATED- So, proprietor replies saying my Claim about his so called made fresh food is bogus. Well, sorry Jim, you are wrong. If it is fresh, it in no way takes 2 minutes to cook. The mashed potatoes are delicious! They're red potatoes with skins on; so creamy and amazing. The gravy is great. Would suggest one of their "bowls" and maybe add bacon? The Strips and nuggets were crispy and well seasoned. The wings were ok, they weren't as crispy as the other chicken but still seasoned well. I got the cookies and cream donuts and the birthday cake. I just don't know how to put into words how much we love this place. As a gluten-free family, eating out is sort of iffy. We're not celiac, but gluten does cause us immense joint pain for several days. So it's a big deal to us, particularly when we travel. We found Strips from a group on Facebook that is for people who eat gluten-free. The owner of Strips is very involved in the group, and the members seem to love it. So we finally took the risk and tried it. And wow...whether gluten-free or not, anyone will absolutely love the food here. My favorite is the Mac and Cheese, but my Hubby had a little bit of everything and loved it all. My only complaint is that, even though we made it abundantly clear that we are gluten-free, the staff still put a donut on our platters. If we had simply trusted them to, of course, not give us anything that would harm us, we would have had our whole trip to KC ruined. So when it comes down to it, we still have to be ultra-careful, even at Strip's. But it's really, really good fast food, and they do a huge volume of business. I can forgive a mistake. This place does a great job with honey chicken nuggets and pork tenderloin! The sauces I've tried (strawberry BBQ and mango habanero) are pretty good as well. I kept seeing the white chili and mac and cheese on Facebook posts so had to try it for myself. My family and I really weren't fans of either. We were glad they let us switch it out for fries. I have driven by here many times, but have never stopped. Some FB friends said they were going to Strips on the event page, so I looked at some reviews and thought I would give it a try. At the drive-thru, I ordered the 5 Piece Chicken Strips with fries. It comes with two sauces and a doughnut. The chicken was hot and tasty; probably the best out of Zaxby's, Raising Canes, Slim Chickens. The sauces were OK. I requested their special sauce which is similar to Zaxby's sauce and a jalapeño relish. The french fries were barely warm, but I liked the seasoning on them. The doughnut seemed like a throwaway. It was dry and flavorless. They were also giving away Tank 7 Cheese curds as a special...they are not on the menu. They weren't very warm and were soggy as if they had been fried up, packaged, and then held until ordered. I only ate two. The associate at the window was prompt and friendly. The order was accurate. The reason for my 3 star rating is based on the following. The chicken was really tasty, hot and fresh. - 5 Stars The fries were basically cold, but the seasoning was good. 2 Stars The doughnut was dry and flavorless. - 0 stars The service was great, but they served cold fries. - 3 Stars I did not consider the cheese curds in the rating as they are not on the regular menu. I will probably go back and give them another shot simply because the strips were good, but will dine-in to ensure that I have recourse if I experience other problems. I ordered a ton of stuff because I wanted to try everything. I just did drive-thru and the order taker was very polite and patient. I ordered I think it's called 4x4x4 that gave you like 4 strips, 4 nuggets, 4 wings, fries, a donut and some sauces. I also ordered the fried mushrooms and a s'more shake. You don't really have to order 3 different kinds of chicken. It's all the same seasoned coating. I hated the wings. Like, actual hate. That thing your grandma told you to never do: HATE. They were gooey with fat, like they hadn't been fried enough to render the fat. When they were butchered, it must have been with a cleaver because the bones were cut to sharp points or broken or both so you didn't really even get a whole piece of the wing part. I would never let a kid eat wings from there because of the risk of choking on a bone fragment. The strips were great. The nuggets were strips that were cut shorter. I got their signature sauce and a polynesian sauce. I didn't care for the signature sauce. The polynesian sauce or maybe it was teriyaki was okay. I ended up using the sauce that came with the mushrooms. The mushrooms were delicious. The fries were good. The donut was smashed and gave me feelings of indifference. When I ordered the shake, he asked if I wanted chocolate, vanilla or swirl ice cream. I told him to do what he thought was best. I don't know which he did, but I loved that shake. So, when I go back, I'll get mushrooms, strips, and a shake. I won't mind going back, I'll just not order some of the things I had this time. Came to Strips on a rainy cooler summer day, very hungry. Got the 3 strip meal with smashed tators and gravy with my side sauce of gravy. I was a little concern about the size of my meal being too much. The 3 pieces were a little on the thin side. The light coating was seasoned enough to bring out the tenderness of the chicken. The gravy needed a little salt. The smashed potatoes were a little too peppery to my liking but it was hot and was good size portion. I would rate this about all the other chicken strip places simply because the strips seemed to be more of a homemade item rather than a commercial type strip. I need to try another sauce and side on my next visit. Oh and the added fried donut was a good compliment to the meal but wouldn't order it as a side. read more

I know the sign and venue may make the place look a little "chintzy", but the food is excellent here. The pork burgers are delicious, the chicken offerings are some of the best in town, and the side dishes are great. In particular, their chicken sandwiches (like the Avocado Grilled chicken sandwich and the Chicken Parmesan sandwich) are huge, and taste great. They also have a lot of cool specials, so check the sign when you drive into the parking lot. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because I think some items are pretty overpriced. I know that Strips pays a living wage and that's awesome and I am happy to pay extra to support that, but some items like the honey-kissed chicken nuggets or chicken strips, though delicious, just seem way too expensive for the quantity. For the best bang for your buck, go with some of the sandwiches and sides. read more

I had to wait a while for my order, and when I called, the phone rang over to the owner (I assume) who was offsite but headed to the store. He was extremely apologetic and friendly. After I received my order, he personally reached out to me to let me know they would be discounting my order significantly. He went above and beyond what was expected. I will absolutely be back. Fast food restaurant with gluten free options-count me in! We discovered this little gem through my gluten free app, it didn't disappoint. The gluten free nuggets are light, airy and full of flavor. Their sweet potato tots with marshmallow sauce are heavenly. The only thing missing in the sauce is cinnamon, would make it a new ball game (hint hint Strips owner). My niece loves their French fries, they are the thin kind, you either love or hate. She ordered the pork burger once and didn't enjoy it, she's 14 though so I don't take much stock in her taste buds at this point. They make all of their own sauces and all of them have flavor and are perfect for dipping. Prices are reasonable, the owner posts a lot on FB with coupon codes and updates. We have yet to try their ice cream which is supposed to be top notch. They offer many gluten free options and I haven't gotten sick, they use a different fryer for their GF food. They have gluten free buns, gluten free white chili (surprising), gluten free nuggets and gluten free fried pickles and jalapenos. We typically try to stop in once a month, its easy and convenient for us. I cannot tell you how their donuts taste-sorry fellow yelpers. Strip's reminds me of somewhere you stumble upon on a road trip when you're looking for greasy, quick grub that is different than something from a chain fast-food joint. I can see some potential with the chicken here, but on the whole it was a grease fest. Everything here is seemingly fried, including my diet after lunching here. Unfortunately my chicken came out luke warm but they made it right by throwing in a couple hot strips to make up for it. The chicken is breaded like catfish with a cornmeal, peppery batter that is unique to anywhere else. Pretty flavorful and tasty, although not exactly memorable like other good fried chicken in the area. The fries were OK -- I feel like the crinkle cut that they used to have (according to reviews and still listed on the menu) would be a better option. There's a little donut thrown in and you can see them making them with a bit donut machine hooked up to a live feed which is cool but totally doesn't fit in with the roadside, divey vibe of the place. The Strip's have great seasoning with a crispy coating. They definitely remind you of homemade. Sauce choices were buffalo and gravy & both were great. The pork burger was like nothing I've ever had. HUGE portions. People say that, but I'm not kidding! I had a bowl with mashed potatoes and gravy, "popcorn" breaded chicken and a little cheese. Imagine 4 or 5 of those single serving containers from that other chicken place... that's how BIG this "bowl" was. HUGE!! My friend had the pork tenderloin sandwich that was so large she couldn't eat it in the car. We had to go home so she could finish it. Perfect seasonings. The only grump (and it was a small one) was she wished the onion was thicker. She said she would get extra onion next time. One of our favorite chicken places! Since moving from OKC to Olathe area, we'd been often disappointed with the food scene. This place knocks it out of the park though! Both my husband and I used to work at CFA, so after eating chicken daily for about 4-5 years, our standards and expectations for what we want are pretty high. Strips does it right! What a peculiar place. Decided to do the drive-thru around 7 on a weeknight. This initially seemed like a poor idea given the 7 vehicles in front of me, but the wait was truly negligible between ordering and getting food...less than 10 minutes anyways. Looks can be deceiving as well, because this didn't have the look of a good food place. But I was pleasantly surprised. The small chicken strips were gloriously golden fried and still piping hot by the time I got them home. Fries were decent, nothing to write home about, but a solid accompaniment to the chicken strips. But the coup de grace was the lil mini doughnuts. What a slice of heaven those things are. Not gonna lie, I tried 6 different varieties. Plain, cinnamon, frosty chocolate, powdered, & bacon + syrup were all fine and dandy...but the cinnamon roll variety stole my heart. So why not 5 stars? They shorted me the order of crispy Portabella strips! That and they goobered another order of fries with white chili (which has onion...which sadly I'm allergic to). But the rest of it was sooo good that I'm gonna go back anyways and see if the second trip can exceed the first. read more

I absolutely love Strip's Chicken! It is perfectly delicious. A lot of places seem to rely heavily on their sauces but you really don't need it with theirs at all. And don't get me wrong, all their sauces are awesome but the chicken alone is so flavorful. The batter has got the perfect mix of spices and the crispy chicken is always cooked perfectly, never overdone. They also serve grilled chicken (better option if you aren't digging fried), pork tenderloin strips (I'm not a fan of pork in that form in general), and gluten free nuggets (they are ok). Then you've got the size of their strips. A majority of the time they are huge! Practically the size of my hand! And if they do give you small ones they typically give you an extra to make up for it. Out of the dozen sauces they offer, my favorites are the secret sauce and the strawberry bbq. Each meal comes with one little cup of sauce and to have more will cost you over $1 per cup which is a negative. For the sides I've only ever gotten the fries. Crinkle cut and so tasty. Not only are they salted but they are peppered! I never would have guessed that they would be so addictive. And along the same lines of the generous chicken portions they don't skimp on the fries. The staff are always friendly and helpful. One time they forgot to give me a sauce and when I mentioned it the next time they gave me three! I would suggest trying them out by going with the three strip meal and mixing it up with one crispy, one grilled, and one pork. That way you get to try them all!
