Disappointed to write this considering I truly loved coming to this bar for a quick dinner and drink. We had become friendly with one of the former bartenders, Yesi, who took care of us and always treated us like family. When we had asked a bartender if she still worked there we were met with very unprofessional behavior and disrespect. Understandably if someone quits feelings may be hurt, blatantly bad mouthing someone and sharing personal information about them with guests is incredibly inappropriate. We felt uncomfortable and asked to close our check. When they realized we were defending her the bartender began to treat us poorly and we left immediately. Will never be going here again. read more

Very solid sports bar with excellent friendly wait staff. Came here on a Sunday early evening and the place is packed. Interestingly the streets in old town Glendora is in construction and very "dead" looking. Free street and public lot parking. The waitresses are really nice and very attentive. My friend ordered a mule and me a alcoholic lemonade. Both are good portions and yummy. Got some sliders with onion rings and it's sold bar food. read more

Came here with the family and we had a little bit of everything, fish and chips, calamari, potato skins, tots, chicken tenders, burger, salad, wrap, and onion rings, everything tasted good and the dips were also tasty. We came on a Saturday evening so it was obviously a little busy and we struggled a bit to get refills but for the most part, would definitely come back the food is good. They have a nice outdoor eating area and the decor inside is really cute, would love to go back and try an outside table. read more

The only palatable and very decent restaurant in Glendora. (Sorry every one else.) if you're a foodie you have to head into LA or Pasedena. We have noticed since T Phillips left and the Mule took over it's substantially better. Solid burger and tots. Great portions. Not life-changing but solid. We eat here the most. I think tonight was my last time dinning at stubborn mule. I usually get bad service but I keep trying. Tonight I put three songs in the juke box and they shut the music off when a regular asked to listen to the game. Another time I walked in sat at the bar and they ignored me so long that I left. The food isn't good either. I ordered a salad it had almost no lettuce and was covered in too much sauce. Money wasted. read more

I'm a regular at the location in San Dimas. It's not the same menu: much larger selection. All the food from what I can see looks good I'm going to need to come back a different day to taste the food. Vibe here seems a little younger crowd. Not a bad thing just not a friendly as the crowd in San Dimas. Bartender move fast which means you will get your drink order fast. Everyone seems very friendly. Always smiling "service with a smile". We had dinner at a high top table in the bar area and as we finished we noticed a nasty cockroach running across the bar and all the people moving off of their stools as it ran the full length of the bar. My older brother raced over to alert a Patron that the Cockroach was about to crawl up the man's sleeve at which point the nasty barmaid scolded my brother saying to him why would anybody do that why would anybody put a cockroach on the bar! Everyone at our table and other patrons at the bar yelled back at the nasty barmaid informing her of what actually happened . Some 15 minutes later she did come to our table to apologize. She should have comped our bill or offered to buy us another round or something but no. Anyway I called the next day to inform the manager and was told the owner would call me back. Fat chance! Great ambiance/location downtown. It's one of the few places around town that my kids are always up for. They can play outside and we can relax with a beverage for a rare moment of slowness. The menu is very tasty and prices are on par. The restaurant is always clean and the servers are attentive and friendly. 1/5 star UPDATE (Dec '23): Stopped in at 9:20pm on a Tuesday night after a long journey. I didnt think this would be a problem. The website, Google maps, and Yelp all say they close at 10pm. There was a table of 8-10 people outside and several people having a good time at the bar. Ive literally done all I can hoping for a better outcome with this restaurant. We came in for drinks and maybe see if they could do something simple like french fries or tater tots. At 9:20 normal people like me dont expect a full course meal... but they couldnt even serve us drinks. We were told they were closed and not serving anyone. Didnt look like it to me. THIS PLACE SUCKS. -------------------------------------- 1/5 star UPDATE (June '23): Came in to celebrate my dads 90th birthday on a Saturday afternoon. It was not crowded. We had a party of six and sat in the middle. We were seated within a few minutes. We waited 10 minutes for menus, no one came by, so I ended up getting the menus myself at the entrance. Waited another 10+ minutes for any type of service and then got up and left. We walked over to Frisellas which has similar quality food but better service. This place is hit or miss. read more

Pro's: Quite a good place to eat and drink, and very reasonably priced. The servers are very attentive and pleasurable to be around. They have a nice beer menu served in ice cold glasses, or mugs, depending on the size of your drink. I always enjoy the food selections. Cons: They have some tables next to the wall, where the reception desk is located, that are a little difficult to eat at due to not being able to pull up the table close enough to properly eat from the tables. The table legs hit the wooden foot rest and need some modifications to allow the table legs to sit under the foot rest. They have a very nasty habit of wheeling large trash cans past where people are eating at tables. This has now happened to me twice when eating there. I suspect they have no way to move those trash cans into the back area without having to wheel them through the restaurant. I'm surprised this hasn't been flagged as a health issue. This somehow needs to be remedied architecturally to allow those trash cans entry to the back area to prevent having to go past clientele eating food at their table, or wait until they are closed. The desert menu is sadly lacking with not much to choose from. Bread pudding, or a variety of Cobbler, or a fruit pie with ice cream, would be very nice options. read more

Tonight we decided to come to this restaurant with some friend for dinner and had a party of seven with children. We checked in with the host and were advised about 1 hour wait and we decided to wait. One hour and 40 min past we check in with to host to see how long the wait was. We noticed other people that got here later than us were getting seated before us. She told us she thought we were already seated and apologized for the inconvenience. We understand mistakes happen but was told we would get seated in about 15 min, never got seated. We ask the host if we can put in an order to go and ordered 2 orders of ceviche, we just wanted to get our children fed at this point after waiting almost two hours in the cold with our hungry children. The host decides to give us the bill and added a discount on the bill but we felt like she was trying to sweep everything under the rug and wanted to speak to the manager. The bartender named Ashley came out to speak to us and was rude. She proceeds to say that we had a bill and accused us of expecting our bill to be free when it was not the case. She also stated that we attacked host and made her cry, we only expressed our complaints to her. We did not yell at her or be rude. We just wanted her to understand our frustrations. We also offered to apologize to the host because we didn't want he to feel like we were attacking her. We also asked Ashley if we can speak to the manager she says he's not here and she's the next point of contact. We start to explain to her our kids have been waiting to eat and we're expecting to spend much more than 2 orders of ceviche. She started to offer us the two ceviche orders on the house and offered to take our number down to have the manager call us but We declined and decided to leave. The stubborn mule is a great addition to Glendora. Our family comes here often since it opened. You have to try the AHI salad , prime rib dip, pretzels, and alllllll the soups. The chef makes the best soups around. They change the special and the soup about every week! The service has been amazing every time we've been. The restaurant business can be tricky at times. We as people need to learn patience and understanding when these severs are working hard on a busy night. Things happen! They are doing their best to please us. I love the new ambiance. I was excited when this place finally opened. Since then, I've been here three times, and each visit was more disappointing than the last one. I've ordered the nachos on two visits and received two different dishes each time. The pizza would have been 99-cent Mama Celeste quality if it hadn't smelt of burnt plastic. And how do you make spongy fish and chips, other than using a microwave? Even adding some lemon juice and tarter sauce left me with a bland mushy bite so repulsive I had to spit it out. 90% of the dish went (hopefully) into the trash. The other 10% was the first bite I choked down and some of the fries. It's a real shame too. If you had the FAR superior food from T Phillips, and the more friendly and professional staff of Stubborn Mule, it would have made for a really great place. read more

Was a little worried they would not be as good as the San Dimas location, but was happily surprised that they are just as good and the service is a lot better. Was sad that they were out of the pastrami after we had ordered it, but they did give us free fries. I ordered the BLT (can't have avocado allergic) and this sandwich never disappoints. They make it the best, and the bacon is always fresh, as well as the lettuce and tomatoes. I hate when you order a BLT and the bacon is old, or dried out, but have never had that at a stubborn mule restaurant. The pretzel is also amazing and so is the beer cheese that has a kick. The first time we went (about 2 weeks ago) we ordered the fish and chips. The portion wasn't huge, but the fish was actual beer battered fish strips, not the frozen triangles that you might find at a lot of places. I ordered steak fries when given the option, but we got regular fries. Not a big deal since I didn't have a strong preference. This was on a weekday at a non busy time. We stopped by last night and although they posted that close at 10, when we walked in at 9:04pm we were told they did last call for food and drinks already.
