We are finishing up week #1 of the one-month trial and so far the speed tests have been good (i.e…read more around 800 megabytes per second for download). Our time with Honest has been good so far. The highlights: Andre did the install and I've not met many ISP techs in my life but we could tell right away he knows his craft inside out and enjoys it. We spoke to Rachel later to iron our some contract/money issues and that went very smoothly as well. It also helps that when you dial the number, you don't get that [expletive] "Hi! Thank you for calling [name of (expletive) company here]. Please listen carefully as our menu options have recently changed (no they have not). Also we are experiencing higher than average call volume, which is our way of saying that we don't know the concept of "average." You get a ACTUAL PERSON (or at least a very convincing artificial intelligence), thank heck. Lastly: the night of 1/6, our speed tanked. I texted the customer support # and within minutes got an answer, and shortly thereafter our down/up speeds were back to normal. All in all, so far so good.... my Cherophobia keeps insisting that /something/ will go tits up but so far it's been solid!

I just got service in Dec from Honest. I came back from a five week trip and had no internet upon my return. They diagnosed it as a problem in the lines coming to my unit (so not my issue) but it will still take them 3 days to come out and restore service. I understand that they are less expensive than others, but I can't really deal with outages like this. If it happens one more time, I'll move on to a more reliable provider

This is probably the worst internet service company I've had to deal with. I live in New York City…read morefyi. For starters, my bill began at around $60 per month, and over time it increased to about $130. Throughout that time, there was very little communication about available upgrades or options that could have benefited me. Instead, it felt like the priority was simply collecting more money rather than making sure customers understood what they were paying for. I spent nearly 20 minutes on the phone with a representative in Texas trying to discontinue my service. What should have been a straightforward request turned into an unnecessary back-and-forth. I explained that my decision wasn't based on one issue alone. It was the combination of poor customer service, unreliable internet, and outdated equipment that requires cords running throughout the house. I also explained that no one had informed me about newer equipment or upgrade options. I genuinely tried to provide constructive feedback that the company could use to improve the customer experience. Instead of listening, the representative continued arguing with me about my decision to cancel. It felt as though the goal wasn't to understand my concerns but to convince me to stay, regardless of what I was saying. That experience alone reinforced my decision to leave. What stood out most was that after nearly 20 minutes of arguing, the representative finally told me my service had already been discontinued. That should have been communicated immediately, not at the end of a prolonged conversation. It only reinforced the point I had been making throughout the call: there was a lack of transparency. Transparency matters. Clear communication matters. Respecting your customers' time and money matters. Another thing I found disappointing was hearing negative comments about a competitor during the conversation. I don't believe criticizing another company is a reflection of integrity or strong business values. I would much rather see a company focus on improving its own service than trying to discredit someone else's. Instead of being proactive and addressing issues before they became problems, Spectrum waited until I was ready to leave before offering solutions. By then, it was too late. Integrity, transparency, and genuine customer service are far more valuable to me than last-minute retention efforts. For those reasons, I will no longer be using Spectrum. I don't believe the company has been transparent with me, and I left the interaction feeling that protecting the company was a higher priority than serving the customer.

At 3am I had a lengthy conversation with a very nice Spectrum Employee. She couldn't resolve the issue by phone and I had to make a service call appointment. Then I am at the gym and get a text the problem is resolved and I can cancel my appointment. I waited to get home to make sure and naturally it was still flashing. I again called and was told "as long as everything was working ignore the lights." "Or, keep my appointment." I'm keeping the appointment. Frustrated I searched Spectrum Website and learned it's most likely the battery in the modem. Who knew there's a battery inside??!! The two representatives sure didn't. I realized it myself when I read it next to the light on the modem. At this time, except the flashing lights, the other two indicator lights stopped working this afternoon. My daughter thinks the technician will replace the modem. I hope so! A battery installation costs $60! I really don't know if I can recommend. I do know people that have Verizon FIOS and they have issues too. All these companies are frustrating!

Cable pixelates!! Bill is outrageously high for what you get, which is ALWAYS, consistently lousy…read more TO BE VERY CLEAR: I do not recommend Spectrum Cable!!! You will get EMPTY PROMISES, with a BIG BILL, no matter what!! Spectrum tells you that you will have a high speed wi-fi, BUT, you won't!!!! And, after you pull your hair out from their empty promises, and you decide to do a phone call, (some people say they would rather have a root canal, than have to call the cable company) the Spectrum people will tell you that they see you're not getting the speed you should have, they will say one moment, and they'll probably push some button and say give it a moment claiming that the speed will be higher. From my own personal experience, you get a bunch of empty promises, and lies as far as speed on your Wi-Fi. The cable always pixelates!!! it's just awful that the bill is going to be three figures and when you pay the bill, don't be surprised if two weeks later they tell you your new bill is ready. I feel like I pay every two weeks BECAUSE I DO!!!! and it's adding up to $400 a month and I don't get anything fancy!!! I only get aggravation! this is my least favorite company. And that's why I plan to cancel my cable with this company. I will just keep the Internet. I have bought Roku. I will plug it in and see what happens. I just can't take these high bills anymore. I'm sick and tired of it. Empty promises, empty promises!!!!! READ MORE, is what I will do. Books, articles, newspaper, magazines!! The money goes out to them. Service is crappy for me. And my neighbors! And a few people that I speak to who have been foolish enough to be fooled by thinking they will get a lower rate on their phone bill. Do not even get me started!!! (Suckers!!!). If there is cable trouble you're going to have problems with your telephone service. You want a telephone line you can depend on because you may be in a situation where someone's life depends on that phone call. so don't think you're saving money. I would not recommend getting phone service from this company. Heck I don't even recommend getting cable service from this company. You know, the public can comment when the license for this cable company is up for renewal. Just saying!!
