Ana came up with a beautiful design and we couldn't be happier with the results. She really helped guide us and worked with us to help our vision come to life. She was patient with my indecisiveness but helped us keep our project moving. We're out of their usual location range and couldn't work with their contractors, so I think because of that some of the communication was challenging between designer and contractor. (It seems like they work pretty seamlessly with Builder Boy!) So while that was challenging at times, the end result is one I know I couldn't have done without Ana's skilled eye and access to beautiful materials I didn't even know existed. I'm really felt like the design was such a collaboration between us and she really helped me realize my vision and what was important to us.

Emma is very knowledgeable and when she didn't know the answer, she was able to direct me towards someone who did. Once the design process was done, she helped me to manage the project and communicate with the contractor (she introduced me to two options, got me quotes from both, and I went with JJ Construction, who was wonderful!). Of course a project of this size will come with its problems and the best thing about Satin and Slate is that they always had a solution or solutions ready for me. Mateo and Anna kept in constant contact with me about materials and timing and I am so appreciative of their meticulous attention to detail. She answers via phone or text which is helpful to have both options. She gets you all set up with Doug the field technician. He is punctual and such a sweet guy. We have used them for the past 3 years on various things from automatic shades to door windows to restroom windows. We remodeled in three phases and after each phase we needed a set of blinds. They got us on the schedule right away for measurements and once product was in they installed right away. Top quality custom blinds and shades that really enhance the space. Highly recommend using them!

Sooo it's 2024 and we decided to get the 4 1/2"shutters in the rest of the house. We got the first…read more3.5" shutters in the bedroom and bathroom back in 2018. After finally getting "new construction" windows installed, we decided to go with larger 4 1/2" shutters. We were so nervous because not many people get that size, but we decided to go for it and boy do we love them! Everyone that comes over says our home has a "beachy vibe" with the large shutters. They look so nice with our painless windows! We only had one issue with the 2018 shutters in the bathroom rusting. ISD said to order the waterproof replacement would run us $650 for a small window but that seems a bit too much. ISD brought a new rustless magnet and made it look a lot better. Overall we are very happy with the way the new large shutters turned out, and happy with how the older 3 1/2" held up in the bedroom.

My house had a 80's interior that needed updating but the prospect of redoing the whole house was so intimidating I didn't know where to start. Victoria was fantastic in coming up with a design that worked with the space, and she walked me through picking design elements, finishes, and fixtures that would work together and have am inviting, beachy, cohesive look throughout the whole house! Victoria worked to figure out how I use the house and what changes would improve it for me. Victoria created a design that made the space much more welcoming, and suggested subtle changes to the floorplan that made the house more functional and gave it a much better flow. She made renderings and designs to visualize the result, and make sure the contractors understood the design and intent. She made a spreadsheet with alternatives for materials and appliances with costs that helped to plan the project going in, and helped me avoid going over budget on a down-to-the-studs remodel on the whole house. Victoria helped manage the project including working with the general contractor to make sure work was performed correctly and in accordance with the design. She helped find specific detail contractors, like a custom stair rail fabricator, to make sure the vision of the house became a reality.
