I love, love LOVE Studio Antiques. I popped in because I was looking for LPs from Black artists for my program, and this shop did NOT disappoint. I met with one of the owners, and she was such a delight. I can't remember for the life of me who the shop associate was, but he was super helpful as well. I could literally spend all day looking at records here. I can tell that my bf was getting impatient but I picked up some amazing records from Little Richard, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and the Temptations. I can't wait to come back and dive back in because it forced me to purchase a record player which is my favorite toy at the moment. read more

Wow! Unbelievable. You have to see it to believe it. Antiques or hoarder's paradise. I hadn't been here in a while and was surprised at the transformation and sheer amount of stuff. Lots and lots of vinyl. The largest selection of rare, collectible vinyl I've seen in a while. Don't forget to walk out back to the outdoor garden. That's where I found their cat taking a nap. It wasn't until I walked back inside that I noticed the cat food and water bowls on the ground. Not for sale. Everything else is though. Very friendly staff, including the owners. It's hard to find shops that still offer layaway. read more

My friend Jackie recommended Studio Antiques, and I'm so glad I drove up from Long Beach today to check it out. I got so many great records (Vanity 6, Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Sandy Bull, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bessie Smith, etc.) at very reasonable prices and, most importantly, with excellent and friendly customer service. I spent well over two hours shopping there and always felt welcome. Sally was great in showing me the lay of the land, and everyone there was so nice and helpful. This place is more of a old record store than an antique store, but there are some antiques there. It's very crowded, dusty and old and filled with more records than you could ever look at, in every nook and cranny of the store. There are some areas that are somewhat organized into genres, which is helpful. Many of the areas, though, have piles and piles of records without visible prices, which is probably the only thing that I would ask for improvement on. In that, you have no idea how much a record will cost until you get to the front desk and they run it through some machine. I did see some old stereo equipment in the back of the store, but it's of unknown quality and function. I was really looking for some hi-fi gear, but I think I'll look elsewhere. Parking is plentiful. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

What a magical experience I had at Studio Antiques yesterday! It was my first visit, where I spent the better part of my afternoon to closing "digging in the crates". The staff is exceptional. The store has a huge selection of vinyl and almost any other vintage item you might fancy. Sally, the owner, is one of the kindest business owners I've met in a long time. She was very helpful and welcoming. Her staff was also on standby to answer questions. I also met her lovely husband, Laurence. I absolutely love this place. Service is first rate! l didn't find much and I don't live in the area, but still worth visiting when I do come to this neighborhood.

The clutter is dangerous. The exits are blocked by stuff (with the exception of the main door). There are boxes in the pathways. There are items and card board boxes on top of the cabinets and in every crevice above those walking through the store. Some even have notes, eBay 1994. I am pretty sure the fire department would deem this establishment as unsafe. I am sure the shopping experience could be greatly improved by declutterring and clearing out the walkways. The cabinets, with what appears to be considered valuable given they are in the cabinet, are hard to see because of the clutter. They are priced, however, the prices seem high. There are a lot of vinyl records, that would be the main reason to take a look. I don't know about the service since I chose not to ask about prices, the overall vibe seemed neutral. A store staff interacted with me briefly, it wasn't really a greeting and more an assessment of me (e.g., shop lifter). I guess that goes with the time we are living. I have been to many antique-vintage stores throughout the country, many have some amount of clutter but this store is just way over the top. read more

I have been a repeat customer since I moved to El Segundo a few years ago. I have brought my friends and family who have purchased items here, but sadly will not be returning due to an experience my friend and I had yesterday with the owner, Sally. My friend saw a tarnished, water-filled, unpriced pitcher with green mold out in the back and went inside to ask for the price. This is the conversation that followed: "What is the price on this item?" Sally: "$10" My friend: "Would you be willing to take $5?" She scolded my friend with the following conversation in a rude tone and delivery in front of other customers: Sally: "Why would I let you have this item for $5?!" Friend: "Because it's very tarnished and was filled with water outside." Sally (paraphrased from memory): "Am I supposed to pay you $5 to have this item?!Why would I do that?! I need to make money. It would have been reasonable for you to ask for $8! Had you said $8 I would have accepted. We are not interested, goodbye." She was so incredibly rude to my friend who simply asked if she would go lower for an item that wasn't priced. Clearly, she would have, and my friend would have paid $8, but because of her lack of kindness we just wanted leave as quickly as possible. It's fair for a shop owner to refuse business, but the way the conversation happened made me embarrassed that I brought my friend there and I will not be returning because of it. read more

My first time visiting this shop, I thought it was just an antique store! But the focus is definitely on vinyl albums with a healthy amount of cassettes. There's lots of other antique-y and novel kick-knacks lots of nooks & crannies. Make sure you look everywhere and allow AT LEAST an hour to look around! read more

Me and my wife went to this place recently and had a horrible experience. It was fine at first just us looking around searching through the mess for things we might like. I leave to the car really quick and come back to some old lady being extremely rude to her. My wife had wandered behind the "register" and the lady got upset. Look I get it, but how about instead of scolding a customer like a child maybe you organize the hoarder house you call a store. She asked "can't you tell it was the register?" AHAHA of course not lady look at this place! Maybe it's a good time to learn some customer service and actually greet your customers before you scold them like you would a child. There's plenty of antique stores in the area please don't waste your time and money on this WAYYY overpriced hoard house of junk. read more

This place will blow your mind. When you arrive you only see a couple of tables of stuff on the sidewalk but once inside the real adventure begins. So many vinyl albums, instruments and random unique antiques. You could spend weeks here and never go through all of these treasures. And....the owners are the nicest people in the world. My friend and I were coming from a breakfast spot and saw this sign that said vinyl. I was just gifted a turntable for my birthday and had been trying to find actual record stores I could go in and check out. I took it as a sign! So we walked down the street and I saw these different antiques outside but when I walked in, OMG! Records upon records upon records! Sally greeted us on the way in and she was so sweet and pleasant! She gave us gloves and was Covid-19 cautious. She then directed us to the different sections and I went to town! Ended up finding some great classic records. As we left, we found out that Sally too is a fellow Libra with her bday being just one day apart from mine. We made a connection! I LOVE this store and the kind people who run it. It is an amazing treasure trove full of wonders! I met Sally and Laurence earlier today and they do such an awesome job curating items from all over the world. Furniture, records, clothing, home decor, and so much more fill every room and even the backyard and downstairs area. I personally love antique and thrift shopping because it's more sustainable and you can find such cool things from bygone eras that possess SO MUCH character. Just really neat stuff that's one of a kind. I walked in at the recommendation of a neighbor and have been looking for some furniture for my living room. But I walked away super excited for a little restoration project. Laurence and his team helped me load up my car so I didn't have to move the cabinet at all, which was really nice of them! Sally taught me how to polish this Art Deco piece and two hours later I'm in my living room pretty proud of how my new entryway cabinets look so far :) Thank you Sally and Laurence!! read more

This is a great place to spend hours of free time and to go treasure hunting. I guarantee that you will find something to love at this spot. The owners were very friendly and helpful when i had questions. There are lots of antiques from plates, tables, books, tin cans, bottles (from the 70's) jewelry. I feels like a time capsule and looks like the room of requirement from the Harry Potter movies. They also have a room dedicated to vinyl records and let me tell you, they have good taste! They have vinyl records from the Clash, Queen, the Beatles, U2 (I saw a lot of U2 memorabilia) and the rolling stones. You can spend an hour alone in that section and thats not even half of the store. I ended up buying a 1975 bottle of 7UP for $5, which is currently on my dresser. I hope to make another stop to buy some records soon. read more

Where do I even begin. This shop is amazing thousands of records fill this shop you could get lost for hours flipping through them. The back is my favorite thing though bring gloves and get ready to dig! We found some amazing treasures for our upcoming wedding decor. They also have a beautiful selection of furniture. No prices on records is always a red flag. I did notice some were but the majority are not. There are some nice things if you take the time to do the digging - I like both situations whether it is organized or not. The absence of prices always plays out the same. So before I go deep and invest time I give a small stack to see where they are at in terms of pricing. Be prepared for sticker shock. So I just thank them for their time and walk out. So maybe this system works for them and why change it. But I generally prefer stores that take the time and effort to access what they have and price them to move. A big factor is how much they are paying for their stock for them to turn a bit of profit. I love buying records and I will give any store a chance but I won't be going back to this one. read more

They have a little bit of everything for anyone, the vinyl collection is insane, the antiques are plentiful and it's way too easy to lose track of time when every box of records holds a potential treasure. Amazing place! I only spent a little bit of time there to pick up a couple of records for a Xmas gift. They had Rich and Roach and Billy Cobham!!! Let's just say that my boyfriend and his father were beyond impressed :) We're both drummers. BUT the only reason I spent a short time there is because I didn't have all day to give and trust me, with everything they had I knew I would of, I'd be there for hours. Super cool place to search for unusual finds - especially old and unique vinyl! Bibs upon bins... reasonably priced although they aren't all cleaned and graded so def take a moment to take them out of sleeves abs look for scratches or ask for them to be played, they will happily accommodate. The owners are delightful and engaging and truly have a passion for their business - plan to spend a little time here and you will uncover some pretty cool finds :-). read more

I've driven past this place several times but never had time to check it out. Well I finally did and was not disappointed. Lots of stuff to look through in several rooms and a whole lot more in the backyard 'ghost town'. Things are piled around everywhere so look on top, underneath and open all the drawers. You never know what you'll find, I can't begin to list the variety of items. But if you like picking and looking for things you didn't know you wanted this is the place for you! The shop is located on a side street behind Main so it's a little hard to find. But there's plenty of free parking so it's worth it :) The staff I spoke with were very friendly and just as happy to help you find something specific as let you just wander around. It's a great shop but be sure to give yourself plenty of time because there so much to see. read more

What a treasure trove! A record crate diggers paradise. A rare experiemce. I had an hour or so spare while in LA from New Zealand on business and thought I'd check this place out simply because it was nearby. didn't know what to expect but immediately realised I was going to need more time, a lot more - and that was before the very helpful staff showed me the main room of records! I just felt like I could discover a holy grail at any moment. but it's way more than just records and I wish I had more time to simply explore. The owners are super friendly and helpful - even set up a listening post for me. Some records aren't in amazing condition but they're priced accordingly and the owner is quite willing to negotiate. The owners are really what make this antique store so special! Featured on several TV shows such as storage Wars and Baggage Battles, it was fun to check out a store featured on TV so often. They are charming and delightful and make shopping and browsing their endless inventory fun. The amount of stuff they have here is insane and never ending. It flows into the building next door as well as the entire backyard is filled with knick knacks. Very eclectic, there is nothing you won't find here. Prices are great, worth checking out! read more

POC this one might not be for us. I would have enjoyed my experience here up until I stumbled on a section of racist memos with my partner. The beauty of antique shopping is preserving mementos of the past but, one thing we should collectively leave behind is the notion of keeping racist depictions & evidence. I'm not saying that it didn't happen or will cease to exist but I believe in a every growing expanding safe spaces where people of color don't have to feel uncomfortable when they're shopping. It's disheartening & creates a negative experience. I can't $pend where there isn't respect. All we can do is hope for growth! read more

Laurence and Sally run a fun and funky shop with so many wonderful items, it's always an adventure every visit! Not only is the shop a treasure trove of cool stuff, but the never ending stream of people that come in and out, both local and not so local are always fun to interact with. When we visit California, Studio Antiques is at the top of our list of "must pop in" places. It's like a TV show come to life. I love a good antique shop and thrift shop, so this place was a dream come true, the perfect spot to spend an hour browsing. My friend and I have visited Studio Antiques several times to buy vinyl and have never failed to find something interesting. We've not spent less than two hours per trip. There were always new records each visit. Sally saves items of interest for us knowing we'll be in at some point in the near future. Unlike in many record shops, Sally and Laurence have always been very welcoming and treat customers like old friends. Browsing the store's vinyl collection is for us an adventure. My friend, the Beatles collector, has purchased several significant albums to add to his collection not to mention the Beatles Parlophone 45 in the original sleeve. I have found some interesting soundtracks and classical records. Every record collector needs to visit this wonderful store. Sally & Laurence keep up the great work! read more
