When your friend comes into town, try studio Inn and suites

I remember when they revamped this place it was right after they built up the promenade. It made sense. People Need lodging next hospital . You can tell things look a little modern except for the one thing that's important the TVs were like from 2000. We couldn't hook up to the Internet and the Wi-Fi sucks. That is not cool. If I can't watch my Apple TV I don't even wanna be here. I don't wanna watch your commercials.

This place actually isn't bad at all. I stayed here in August 2019 while visiting town for a work event. The lady at the front desk that checked me in was nice and explained everything to me. The property itself is definitely a motel rather than a hotel. With that being said, it is one of the best properties in 2-3 mile radius. The room was quite good, very modern furnishings, ice cold A/C, comfy bed, and the WiFi wasn't bad. It was a little slow, good enough for browsing the internet, but not good enough if you're wanting to work remotely and join conference calls etc. Overall I had a good stay here, and would recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay in Downey, and on a budget.

this is the most nastiest inn i have ever stayed in my life its dirty expensive and really ghetto we payed $136 for a two room the pillows were super hard and the sheets reeked of cigarette the room smelled like mold and the carpet was so dirty i had my 2 kids with me and we had some really noisy people upstairs they had the music blasting until 2:30 am the people next door slamming on the wall and the girl screaming her guts out it was horrible i will never be back here again and don't recommend to anyone with children or a family at all it was a horrible night with no sleep.

Microwave and fridge were both clean!

Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming, from the front desk staff to the restaurant team and the housekeeping staff. Every single person made us feel at home, and that level of hospitality really stood out. The complimentary breakfast was hands down one of the best Hilton breakfasts we've had in a long time! The made to order omelets were absolutely delicious. I wish I had gotten the chef's name so I could thank them personally. They did an amazing job. The only downside was that the hot tub wasn't working, but hopefully it'll be up and running the next time we're in town because we'd love to enjoy it. One of our favorite features was the beautiful open air atrium with the water feature. It was so peaceful, relaxing, and welcoming. It almost felt like being outdoors. Plus, loved the balcony. 10/10 recommend! We look forward to staying here again. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so enjoyable!

The room was clean and comfortable, but what really made our stay stand out was the service. Everyone we encountered was incredibly sweet and gracious, but ASHLEY M. truly went above and beyond. I had originally asked for a pool view but couldn't really see it from our room. Without hesitation, she said, "Give me a moment," and rearranged things to get us a room with a proper pool view. That alone was amazing, but then I realized I had left something behind in the previous room. Ashley immediately reassured me and had someone retrieve it and bring it right over. She handled everything with such kindness, a smile, and genuine care, it really made a difference. When we checked out, I believe the manager's name was Isaac (I didn't catch it for sure), and he was just as pleasant and professional. You could tell the way the place is run reflects strong, gracious leadership. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Clean, welcoming, and filled with kind people who truly care. Definitely two thumbs up!

This stay was far below expected standards in cleanliness & guest care. I would strongly advise against staying here. I endured an extended business stay at this property and from the start, the room was not properly cleaned -- food debris on the floors, a heavily soiled couch with crumbs throughout, and an unsanitary shower head that required replacement. Maintenance issues, including plumbing (foul smelling water) and power concerns, took days to resolve. Housekeeping was inconsistent and often unacceptable. On multiple occasions, floors were not cleaned, sheets were not changed, and visibly stained bedding was placed on the bed. Debris was left behind, including someone else's hair and trash, indicating the room was not properly serviced. Most concerning, I experienced insect activity and developed a significant bite during my stay that is still healing. A colleague on the same floor reported similar issues. This raises serious sanitation and health concerns. Despite multiple reports, concerns were dismissed or inadequately addressed at the management level. Rather than resolving the issues, responses were deflective and unprofessional. I ultimately had to escalate this matter to corporate to receive any acknowledgment. For a Marriott property, this is unacceptable and this establishment is unfit. I would never return to this property.

The staff here is very nice- the've got those great, warm cookies waiting for you whenever you want them, which really goes a long way after a busy day. The room itself was very average. One of my biggest callouts was no matter how many lights I had on, it never felt bright enough, and the TV channel selection was underwhelming. The gym facilities were better than expected with lots of natural light and good equipment, although, they could've used more exercise mats. My status gave me an $18 credit to use at the conscience store. The stock was rather odd with very little consistency. I would usually get some gum, water, cereal, but then they would have no milk. Once I tried the fresh fruit cup. Worst fresh fruit I'd ever had in my life. This area definitely needs work. Despite the inconsistencies, I feel like this hotel does try, and while the building is quite worn, I think it makes up for it with friendly service, better than average gym and parking & delicious cookies on demand.

Rant over. The Double Tree was right there it seemed so we went in. Thankfully we carry TO GO bags in case I get too tired to drive or just want to stop. We walked in and it was hot outside. The front desk I think knew I was livid and kept me calm and they helped me. They were great. We were able to get a room right away. We had no reservations so the price I thought was high for a hotel that needs a refresh, but we were trapped. No matter, our room was small, but super clean and all I needed was there. We even used the pool and it was great with some nice seating. They have an eatery right there and we had both dinner and breakfast there and it was great and the staff was wonderful. The only reason they have a 4 and not a 5 is because it is time to refresh the place, but the staff is a solid 5. They were great to us and if we are near again we might go back there, this time with a reservation.

Then there's the hallway. The carpet was beyond filthy. Deep dark stains which I honestly wondered if they were old blood stains. The room was ok. The bed was on top of a metal box thing that made a loud sound like crashing garbage cans if I moved a certain way or accidentally hit it with my foot. Scared the sh*t outta me the 1st couple times. The room had a weird office type chair that rolled away when I tried to sit down. I almost fell 2x. I couldn't sleep because the noise (music & banging) from outside & inside was unbearable. I was so scared I tried to sleep on top if the bed with peppers spray in hand & a light on. I wanted to leave so bad but was afraid to go outside to my car because the lighting was so poor. 4 am after no sleep I couldn't take it. Armed with my pepper spray I sprinted to my car. The 7 hour trip to Sac was awful, I was so tired, I actually let my son do the last 2 hours. He's a horrible driver & he hates to drive but I was feeling out of body exhaustion. I paid $148 for one of the worst nights of my life. As a 60 yr old lady, alone I felt incredibly vulnerable & creeper out. Yes the vibe is also bad. Google really let me down on this one & I should have done more research. At this point Im just happy to be alive & in Sac. Also the air in Bell Garden smelled like a huge garbage dump. The air is awful. This place should be shut down.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We were in town for medical treatment, so having a comfortable and clean room was especially important. When we arrived, the room felt extremely humid, the refrigerator door had been left open, and there was a strange odor throughout the room. We're not sure if the open refrigerator caused the smell, but it definitely wasn't a pleasant first impression. The next morning, we left early for medical appointments and requested housekeeping. When we returned around 7 p.m., our room still had not been serviced. If you're traveling on a budget, be aware of the additional fees. The website listed parking at $34 per night, but we were charged $50 per night because of an additional hold for potential room service charges. That unexpected cost was frustrating, especially during an already stressful medical trip. We had originally booked the hotel for a week but decided to check out after just one night. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here.
