This review is solely for Rich, who has helped me learn to like getting my hair cut. (I only get cuts, I don't dye or perm my hair) I had gotten my hair cut here by a different person before my wedding, and it was very average (not bad but definitely nothing special) and not worth the $80 price tag. I came back because I was in a bind and needed a cut on one day notice on a Sunday. Luckily for me that's when I met Rich. I'm pretty low key about my hair, and get it cut every 9-12 months. The reason for this is that I've learned through the years that my hair just doesn't look very good right after it's cut, so I generally don't expect much and avoid cutting it. I mention this because I came in with only one request: to have my hair shorter because it needed to be able to hold a curl for a friends wedding. Rich was great. He asked me my preferences, and when he realized I had none he offered his professional opinion and took it upon himself to care enough for the both of us. He took his time, and even styled it at the end. After he was done, I was so surprised and excited about my hair. It was lighter and had so much movement. I was so pleased I even upped my hair cuts to 2-3 times per year. I have been back multiple times now, and he always does a great job. The place itself is very bright and airy and feels clean. Booked my appointment right in Yelp and the owner was super responsive. She was flexible and agreed to give me an appointment at a time that worked best for me. The salon has many precautions in place to protect their stylists and clients against COVID. They also put together a quick video that describes their check in process. You call before entering the salon and upon your entrance, they ask you to wash your hands and put your purse in a plastic bag. Both you and your hair stylist have to wear masks. Sara was my hair stylist and she was so sweet and double checked that my layers were at the length I wanted. She was happy to make any adjustments I asked for and understood what I wanted since I have thick long hair. My haircut was about $80 and she washed and styled my hair. I'll definitely be back! Yuzu is the best! Highly recommend her. She put so much time and effort into my shaggy haircut. I have mixed straight/wavy hair and she used a razor to bring out the life in it and lighten my load. Went here for a haircut for the first time. Jenny gave me exactly what I wanted and more. I knew I needed to cut off my ends that were damaged and from there she worked her magic. I came here for an ombré service. Left the salon about 5 hours later with what appeared to be a grey hair root touch up. My hair was still dark black, zero dimensions, and not what I came in for. The owner of the salon felt bad and told me to come in the following weekend for correction of my ombré. After another color lifting and bleaching session which was about 5 hours again, my hair is fried, tangled, dry and unable to hand comb thru once it is wet. I regret having my hair done here initially and should have trusted my gut to have it done in LA where I usually get color services done. My hair is sadly damaged. I spent a lot of money which I cannot get my soft and healthy hair back for a while. Please do your research. read more

Your girl got a haircut! It had been a *LONG* time due to COVID (like, the longest I've ever gone without a haircut in my adult life by a mile) and I am on cloud nine. My hair honestly wasn't in terrible shape due since my heat styling went way down over the past few months, but my ends were getting a little scraggly and it was tough to comb my hair out after washing it. I'm new to Studio K but saw they were open, in my area, and booking easily online, so I made an appointment and was able to get a chop a few days later. Props to this salon for all of the precautions they've made and the communication on what to expect preceding the appointment. You're instructed to stay in your car until they call you in and it was about six minutes past my appointment, so I called and they said to come on in. I gave them my screening form (emailed prior and printed at home) and had my temperature taken. They gave me some hand sanitizer and then I met with my stylist, Yahaira, who was awesome. She cleaned everything up really efficiently, was super friendly, and I left with a lighter, blown out head of hair. The service was $95 + tip, so pretty standard for LA. The only area of opportunity I could see was giving the salon a really good cleaning, especially on the baseboards and places that tend to get dusty or grimy. I wanted to take a magic eraser to a few spots on the wall and floor during my cut. Aside from that, really pleased from my service and will be returning for another cut with Yahaira! read more

I've been going to my hairstylist for quite a while and refused to go anywhere else because I only trusted her. Throughout my haircut, she was very thorough and she took her time. She explained what she was doing and made sure I was getting the haircut I wanted. After she was done, I was so happy! I love my haircut!! ::Highlight:: -The stylist was sweet and caring. I apologized several times because I came unprepared; no pictures to show her with the haircut I wanted. That was no problem to her, she got her phone and found pictures for me. I love how she was so patient and also fun to talk to. She was precise with my haircut. -I usually have to call about a couple of weeks or a month advance to get an appointment at other places but here it's easy. Kelly Zhang did my hair and makeup at my wedding, and when I heard she was opening up a blowout salon I had to try it! I've had two blowouts at Studio K, both times were with Ruby who is soo sweet! My blowouts turned out beautiful each time :) They always start the session with a light scalp massage, wash and condition your hair, blow it out, and then style it according to your preference. I did the Hollywood blowout for a styled shoot and it was so glam! Prices: 5 stars- super affordable for the amount of pampering they give you!
