This was such a disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in and purchased tickets.. upon arrival in the theater, the floors were sticky, the theater was hot, and there were people sitting in our seats -- shoes off, chipotle in hand. We didn't want to make a big deal of it so we shifted over to the next few seats, but then a group arrived and let us know that those were their assigned seats. So we got up and moved to the top row, where all of the seats were broken. Recliner didn't work nor did the button to notify the staff. Throughout the movie there was a loud disturbing banging behind us. Also the service was extremely slow. It took an hour to receive my food and when I did, this was the presentation and the food was cold. The brisket was sparse and the tots barely had barbecue sauce. The bathrooms were filthy. Trash everywhere and the stalls had fluids on the wall. It was very uncomfortable. My friend and I went to speak to the manager, Miguel, who did not accept any accountability for the quality of the service and the overall experience. He repeatedly mentioned that we could've gotten up and gotten a staff member for our issues. Why should we as guests get up in the middle of the movie several times to tell the staff how to do their job? Piss poor service. I do not recommend this theater and won't be back. read more

We had a sleepover with our 3 grandkids and took them to Studio Movie Grill to see the movie "David." This was during the Christmas break and on a Monday afternoon. We had ordered the tickets in advance and you pre-select your seats. We ordered popcorn before the show. The lady at the concession stand was very nice and she provided extra bowls so it was easy to share the popcorn. The popcorn was delicious! Sadly, a few of our reclining seats did not recline. We probably could have moved since there was an abundance of empty seats. There couldn't have been more than 10 other patrons at our showing. We decided to just stay in our pre-selected seats. The restrooms were deplorable! In all, we enjoyed the movie and our time together, but this theater is in desperate need of renovations. read more

I had a five star experience at Studio Movie Grill last night. I bought my tickets online using Fandango which allowed me to pick out my seats. When I walked in the door, I showed the QR code on my phone. The theater worker scanned it, printed tickets and a receipt, and directed us towards theater screen #5. There is a nice comfy lounge and bar up front where people can hangout before or after the show. TVs on the walls, movie promo stands for photos, and arcade games help pass the time before the movie begins, but we always blow right by all of that and head to our seats. Entering the hallway with the theater rooms, we were greeted by staff who checked our tickets and directed us to our screening. We were in a smaller room. I think there were only about seven rows. There were probably less than a dozen people at our Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movie on a Friday night. Even if you end up seated next to someone, the seats are quite spacious. The arm rests are wide so there should be enough space for everyone to place their elbows. The seats are leather lounge chairs with an electric button for reclining and propping up your feet. The aisles are very wide so even if someone is seated already with their feet outstretched, theater-goers and staff can cruise by without disturbing those who have settled into their seats. Each seat has a swing tray for food and a built in cup holder. Also on the tray is a QR code to access the menu and a button for calling the staff to place your order. My husband got a bottle of water and a large bag of buttered popcorn. I went for the spicy margarita served with two jalapeños slices floating on top, a lime wedge, and my choice of sugar or salt on the rim. It was an $11 drink, and it was so good. I also ordered the Margherita Flatbread. Delicious! The staff were fantastic last night! Ryan was our server. He was amazing. He was polite and professional and quick and efficient. There was another woman who checked on us during the show who was also very helpful. After the show, when we were leaving, staff thanked us for coming and wished us a pleasant evening. They were all smiles. It really made for a wonderful experience. The screen was huge! Even though we were more to the left side of the room, I felt like the bend in the screen made it feel like we were front and center. For the most part patrons were polite. Someone's phone went off twice right near the beginning of the film, but that was the only disruption. Last night's experience was what I would normally expect when going out. Went last Saturday matinee - not crowded at all to see Avatar - which was our goal - with so many sick right now; avoiding crowds and this hit the mark. Only 6 in entire theater for show. Seats and theater are worn but very clean. Service was friendly and quick - do note they add a service charge onto your bill so when you tip you might want to consider. I thought our staff was good so I tipped additionally - your choice. We like the large venue with spread out seating. Again easy to walk in - get tickets without paying 'online fees'. This will be our last time coming to this place. We placed our order and after the server reading it back, she disclosed the automatic 18% gratuity. There's only 3 of us and I believe that a little steep and should not be their discretion to add it on the tab when their service is sub par. We heard her explained it to another guest that management added it to compensate for the inflation as well for their hourly wages. Tipping is getting out of hand and it moved away from rewarding good service and now they just expect it however the service is. The food portion got smaller from previous experience and it was just okay. The movie theater was decent but the main hallway has that funky smell. Just drove 2 Hours down from Oklahoma to get here based on seeing an advertisement for Children Summer Series for a free Kids Popcorn and drink. We have 4 Grandkids with us ya'll! We were just informed that the Movie "Elio" was not on some approved list for that advertisement! We are gobsmacked! I am blown away at my own level of disbelief and disappointment! As a disabled Veteran and Senior Citizen this isn't even affordable to come down here to have what should have been an amazing movie experience! We were so excited to see a movie at Studio Movie Grill at Royal & 75 for the first time in a very long time. We used to love SMG, even when we were basically sitting in office chairs at a long table. We were excited when we arrived but discovered that the theatre smelled weird and the now recliner chairs were broken and sagging. The theatre was mostly empty so we ended up moving around trying out different chairs to find two that reclined and didn't sag. We were not the only people playing musical chair either. We all had a good laugh about the hunt for decent chairs before the previews started. We ordered from the 2 for $30 to share menu and didn't notice that the dessert was an extra $5. Next, we each got a drink including a cocktail for $12 and a Dr. Pepper that we later discovered cost $6.50. The waiter forced us to pay in advance even though we were paying with cash. He said it was SMG's policy. The actual movie was good (good sound, no issues with the screen). Afterwards, we realized we never received our dessert. While I was reviewing my receipt, I realized they charged us $7 for the dessert we never received and the waiter added an 18% service fee on the check without telling me he was doing so. So my actual food bill, which was $53.50 before tax, ended up costing me $67. On the way out, we noticed the same dessert we were supposed to get was sitting on one of the counters by the theatre door. We found the manager and told him about the missing dessert. While he was working to refund our money, our waiter appeared and looked less than happy. I told him that we never got our dessert. He said, "I heard." He heard? Shouldn't he have already known since he was the one who should have delivered the dessert to us? We ended up getting $7 back. Moral of this story is that we probably won't be going back to SMG. The overall experience was disappointing, which is sad considering SMG used to be our #1 theatre. read more

I went there with a friend to see Barbie but the seat was so uncomfortable that I walked out with hip pain. It's nice that the chairs recline but it felt like the the insides of the chair had collapsed and it was only held together by the covering. Me and my family bought tickets to see the movie the last supper unfortunately we bought the tickets for the day before when we got there they wouldn't give me a refund. They said I had to go online and contact corporate when I contacted corporate. They said there was nothing they can do. I had to pay for new tickets Which put me at $120. That's not including the food which bumped it up to $180. The movie theater wasn't even ready. The manager assured that they would give me my refund back. He even gave me his business card and said if they have any question refer my name to them The place was pretty clean, but the seats did not recline so we didn't enjoy the full experience corporate did nothing or seem interested in even hearing us out. I have pictures of the receipts and they did nothing. We had a pretty bad experience here we will not ever return again When I receive the email to leave feedback. It's a broken link so I'm assuming it's a corrupted system please save your money and try somewhere else. I was wondering why the theater was so empty on a Friday night the manager seemed great and informative and assured I would get help but now that I'm looking back it's just a tactic to blow you off They'll tell you it's a policy thing and there's nothing they can do about it but to contact corporate and corporate would just blow you off as well $180 for a night was not worth it at all. I have missed movie theater experience, and am glad to be back at this one. Always clean, with ( mostly ) comfy seats, I'm also grateful for plenty of legroom. Bonus: plenty of selection / good scheduling. Extra extra bonus: I really like the staff here, always helpful, and not avoiding eye contact like a certain big box store with a red dot does these days. Speaking of drinks. Our cheese fries came before our drinks did and when the drinks arrived they were water down. I ordered wings with the buffalo sauce on the side. My husband and I actually had a great experience here tonight. The food was pretty tasty. Just wish our cheese sticks were hot throughout. They weren't completely melted. I did notice someone brought our food with a couple others at the same time and cheese sticks must be served immediately so I kind of expected them to be lukewarm when I saw that. The egg rolls are delicious! A new menu item that needs to stay! Service was prompt and everyone was very courteous. My only complaint if that's what you want to call it... no matter what, you are charged and automatic 20% tip and then handed a bill to add more if you wish. I know this isn't always the case with a good amount of customers, but if I wasn't already charged a tip, they would have made more money off of me. A gratuity for a service that hasn't yet been rendered is a no-no for me. Keep in mind, you order, you pay, the tip is added before you're even brought your food. Umm... no. It's been a while since I've been back to the theater for a movie . Watched Top Gun 2 and it was only like 9 people in there for a late show . Services was great , drinks and food are decent enough . It's not bad here except that you have to be careful not leaving anything valuable in your cars . The past reviews I have read would have kept me away, but another couple wanted to go, so we went. Unlike past reviews I read, the theater was clean, and the seats were large and comfortable. There is enough space to squeeze by when someone walks down your row which is not always the case in some of their competition. When we walked in at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, we were greeted by loud rap music in the lobby and restrooms. Rap is not my favorite genre, but that is not my point. The lyrics to the songs playing while we were there were easy to understand, explicit, and frankly raunchy. Kids come through that lobby and restrooms. The music lyrics would have an R rating. Completely inappropriate for a family environment! F- on the music in what is supposed to be a kid friendly environment. I have to say we saw service as pretty close to 5 star/A. Granted, there were not many people at the movie, but the servers were focused. It began when we entered the theater and were not sure if we just needed mobile tickets or had to have paper. A young girl was finished her shift doing tickets and when I asked her, she took the time to show me where to scan my device and actually did it for me. Then she took the time to show me where our movie was playing without me asking. All this after being off work truly impressed me. Wish I had her name to compliment her to managment. Once we sat down, our server was great. She was friendly, helpful, had a sense of humor, smiled all the time, and made us feel welcomed. It was either Russo or Gianna based on the ticket. Food and drinks from the bar came out pretty quickly, but we did order about 20 minutes before the scheduled start of the movie (which they ask you to do). Anyway a big plus and pulled this review up to 3 stars. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. We shared a Margherita flatbread pizza. The crust was a little thick for a flatbread and undercooked (soggy, not crisp). The taste was not terrible (sort of a Ragu flavored marinara) but would not order again. The "Clooney" Margherita was very good and the Bullet Rye Old Fashion not bad (although they incorrectly use maraschino cherries). This place is trash. It is my normal theatre because of its proximity to places I frequent. I have made comments to management more than twice about the state of their theaters. The seats, trays and cup holders are never clean. Generally, I would say 50% of each theatre is dirty. I know most of the time the theater does not fill up for each showing so that shows you how often they actually get wiped down... maybe every other day? That's generous though. The bathrooms are always dirty, food is always slow and the popcorn is cold unless you specifically say fresh and then it's tepid. The staff also need to be retrained. They speak very loudly during the movie and often stand in front of you while you order so you cannot watch the movie. We have even had a guy come in for no reason - no lights were lit for assistance - and he proceeds to ask each person in his outside voice if anyone needs anything. Sir, that is what the call buttons are for. I notified a manager last time about wires hanging out of the wall and the danger of it and he said he would note my complaint but the entire theater is under construction. Those wires have been there for 6+ months. This is not the first I have seen them. While I was waiting for his card he asked "oh do you need me to comp something for you?" No, I just want you to fix the theater. I don't need free things. I have given them so many tries. I hate that they suck so badly. The pictures shown are of the two seats directly next to me. I did not have to travel far to find gross seats. I did go down the row after the showing and all the seats that were empty were disgusting and crumbs everywhere. I will not be coming back to SMG. During the online purchase process two of my credit cards were declined due to a problem with them - I've never ever had a problem anywhere with any of my cards. And the website also told me the theater was out of tickets for the movie I was seeing, but this was after I'd checked several times to see if the seat I'd wanted was available (it showed it was every single time!). It's impossible to get anybody on the phone to help you, as any button you push sends you straight to voicemail, so good luck getting any help from the store or corporate. I was at the theater with friends, and none of our seat trays had been cleaned prior to our arrival. My cupholder had stuck on bits of food around it - that's a great way to stimulate a customer's appetite! I realize it's summer and lots of hot movies are out right now, but it's no excuse for failure to maintain cleanliness. My mushroom Swiss burger was not hot, and when they brought me a new one it wasn't hot either. I waited nearly 20 minutes for a new burger. SMG also forces a service fee of 18% on its patrons, which is high considering the poor quality food. The mushroom Swiss burger lacked flavor and the meat tasted like it may have been a cooked, frozen patty. I'm not satisfied. I paid $30 for food I could have gotten in a cafeteria. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told to go find him; that's not how it works. If the customer requests to speak to a manager it's YOUR job to locate one, plus you had a pager so it was within your abilities! This is not the only time I've had bad service at this location. I won't be back. Save your money and buy food elsewhere. All the stress and poor service isn't worth it. I'll try my luck at Alamo Drafthouse when it reopens. read more

This place used to be my spot a few years ago. As far as concept, nothing has changed. They have done some renovations as far as now having their seats recline and a nicer seating area. One thing that didn't sit well with me was the fact that the lights stayed on during the previews. Like... wth?! My cousin and I kept asking ourselves if they were seriously going to keep them on, in above they did. Food was typical. I had the flatbread chicken pepperoni pizza while my mom devoured the heck out of her chicken salad. We did the 2 for $25 ( or !28... I forgot) meal and dusted the nachos. Nice, clean place with good customer service. I love how you can extend the footrest of the seats. The fact that they even have footrests is amazing cuz we don't got that where I come from. We got the brownie sundae which comes with ghirardelli brownie & 2 flavors of ice cream (2 scoops on each side). The ice cream scoops come with cinnamon sugar chips sticking up from the middle. The brownie was extremely sweet. I couldn't take more than a few bites. The cinnamon sugar chips were a new thing for me. The chocolate ice cream was good.
