    Salted maple syrup latte
    Bivianna V.

Wow, this coffee was seriously so good. I really hope it's not just a seasonal thing because I need to have it again. I already love Stumptown beans, but that salted maple syrup was absolute perfection. I need the recipe

We went here for the Coraline collab a few years back, it was super cute! We live in the San Fernando Valley so I don't come here but the coffee was delicious

I was looking for a cafe where I could get some work done and came across Stumptown, I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and had no trouble finding street parking (they also have a small parking lot). There was a short line when I walked in but it moved quickly. I ordered an iced matcha latte with honey and it was good! I grabbed a seat in the outdoor patio to do work on my laptop. I appreciated that the outdoor seating was shaded and that there were outlets.

    Outdoor patio, morning mist

Stopped in to do some school work and grabbed myself the morning mist tea. I'm on a tea journey and I really enjoyed the bitterness of the white pepper followed by the hint of sweetness from the alfalfa honey. I was ultimately intrigued by the patio area that contained a cubicle full of records. I sparked a conversation with the barista, Greg, about our shared interest in records. I asked if I could choose a record and he kindly accepted. Thank you Greg for the wonderful experience!

I'm always so impressed with this cute coffee shop that is so conveniently located in my community. Their coffee is the best. I recommend holler mountain blend. But I have been on a matcha kick and I LOVE they use oat milk as a default but are happy to sub to any plant milk with no extra charge. Also it's easy to opt out of added sweetener, I like to add a packet of stevia which gives the perfect flavor for me. They do have a vegan muffin option but if you want to indulge, the cinnamon rolls are also vegan. All of the staff are excellent and all seem to enjoy their jobs.

Always enjoyed getting coffee beans from stumptown but this was my first time getting coffee here. Ordered a cappuccino with a few pastries and had a good experience! The coffee was amazing and was just what we needed on a weekend road trip. Pastries were delicious as well especially their banana bread. Nice modern and clean cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Service was very friendly and offered some nice recs on the pasties!

Beautiful half outdoor coffee nook, great staff offering an enticing menu and a flight! Tried that ginger and matcha and well, nothing amazing, oddly the other single lattes seemed better and had proper balance. Us seven got quite a bit of the menu however Lavender and Honey and Jones Coffee both took the top ranking for my vacation espresso escapades!

This coffee roaster is probably the best kept secret around Muir High School neighborhood. The parking lot inside is not the biggest, so choose your parking wisely either on the street or inside next to the coffee shop. I ordered their honey and ginger latte and also their coffee. The coffee isn't sour which means their extraction was done right. I also noticed the crema when they served their espressos to other customers. So the baristas are definitely coffee connoisseurs and technicians when pulling their shots. Very courteous staff and they will talk to you if you are just standing there. If you just finished a hike or maybe want to rest for an hour inside is quiet and quick stop to pick up your coffee and go! Outside has tables for a small party. Overall, this place has a lot of potential to be busy with quality espressos, cold brews and lattes. Cheers!

    Vanilla coconut cold brew
    Victoria L.

I stopped by her with a friend after lunch at kismet and I had the special cold brew with vanilla coconut cold foam. She got a cortado. We got lucky and someone left as we waited for our coffee so we found seating inside. The coffee helped me with my energy all day. The coconut cold foam went perfectly and didn't make it too sweet. It was a nice way to wrap things up on our catch up session. Parking can be tough depending on the time of the day but there is street parking. The ambiance is chill and very clean. The baristas were super nice and got the order up pretty quickly.

Iced Latte & small Drip Coffee

*Coffee Fix Adventures continue* Came to Stumptown off a recommendation of a gf. It's a bit of a drive, so I'm not sure how often I'll come back, but I do think their espresso is good! As I've stated in past reviews, I've learned I prefer espresso over coffee and iced lattes are my preferred choice to beat the summer heat! My winter/colder weather preference is cappuccino :) Ordered the Iced Latte w/ Almond Milk. They do have Whole Earth, which was a bonus for me (1 bag is enough for me). The initial taste of their espresso was strong and I really enjoyed my latte. Hubby ordered their Drip Coffee w/ Skim Milk and was disappointed. It tasted watered down. I preferred my latte over his drink for sure. They've got a few tables inside thru their front (sliding) door, and a little patio area that's dog friendly. Parking is a bit of a doozy. They share a small lot with a place next door, and the exit for the lot goes to an alleyway. We parked on the small street leading out of the alleyway (Wyoming St., I believe). I think parking on the smaller streets nearby and walking over may be best for this location, especially on weekends... Will be back to support Stumptown when we're able to come out this way, since it is a bit far distance-wise...but their espresso/latte merits coming back!

    Espresso Tonic

I'm surprised at the low rating for this coffee shop. I think coffee enthusiasts are familiar with Stumptown coffee's quality and brand (though now owned by Peet's coffee). During my visit, I found the Pasadena location to be modern, inviting, and clean. I was a big fan of the charming outside seating patio with ample outlets for laptops. The service was friendly and I got my coffee order quickly. The espresso tonic I ordered was perfect: a strong and bold espresso shot with a creamy mouthfeel, just the right hint of bitterness to offset the sweet bubbly tonic water. The store also offered a nice selection of quality pastries. Street parking can be a bit limited but not impossible if you are willing to walk a couple of blocks up/down Lincoln Ave. I'll be back for sure.

Cherry Vanilla Latte (iced/seasonal for May) & Rose Gold Latte (hot) - both fabulous!
    Hannah S.

Stumbled on this gem after enjoying a Mother's Day breakfast next door - wanted to treat myself to an extra coffee and had a lovely experience here! We tried their Rose Gold Latte and their season Cherry Vanilla Latte and loved them both! The Rose Gold Latte is a heavenly rose and honey concoction that had a perfectly balanced flavor profile between the two and wasn't overly sweet. We tried it hot and it was very smooth and decorative as well. But the Cherry Vanilla Latte (iced) was the clear winner for me - again not too sweet and an excellent amount of cherry and vanilla which complimented each other well. These Oregon-based coffee roasters make their syrups in house and certainly know their blends as well. The coffees were smooth and delicious. Their prices are a tad higher than other spots but the quality is there and I will definitely stop by next time I'm in the area. Service was friendly and efficient - and our lattes were ready pretty quickly! There's plenty of cozy corners to sit in and enjoy your brews - the decor is chic minimalist in primary colors. Very relaxing vibes. They had a large merch wall too. Parking is free street parking and seemed plentiful. They have a decent location in a cute, walkable neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. And HomeState is right next door with the best queso and chips in SoCal!

I love Stumptown! I'm here a couple times a week. The coffee is delicious. The staff are always friendly. The playlist is always eclectic. Great vibes!

The minute I walked in, the aroma of the coffee and baked goods just organically welcomed me IN! Walked in this morning at 10:15AM, and was greeted by Stephanie. All the people behind the counter were genuinely super nice and friendly, and I am going to leave it at that. Some places can be pretentious and I don't like that. I didn't get that vibe here. Loved it. They have many different options of baked goods, hot and cold beverages, salads, sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and more. They also serve wine. Very unique and interesting. Some coffee shops do serve wine. Love wine, but not in the mornings/afternoons:-)). So, she took my order and got everything right. I ordered an Avocado Toast, 2 Blueberry Muffins, and for my drink, got an Ube Latte. Everything tasted above and beyond fresh and delicious. My Ube Latte was made to PERFECTION! Don't know much about their parking situation, but I found street parking right in the front. They also do delivery, and 3rd party orders. My first time, but definitely not the last. Was so pleased with their hospitality. If I didn't happen to be in the area, I probably would have missed this beautiful gem. Glad I saw it and walked in. They have some nice decor inside but I decided to sit on their lovely patio. Thank you everyone, and keep up the good work!

I love minimalist spaces, and this is the exact opposite. This is probably just my own OCD personality that misses Steve Jobs and his black turtlenecks. The staff, however, is very nice! Okay, now the coffee, which is what my rating is based on. The latte was a small step up from Starbucks and had an odd taste that I couldn't quite place. My wife couldn't finish hers. The drip coffee was barely above lukewarm and just didn't taste good. Again, it was hard to put my finger on exactly what was wrong with it, but it didn't taste particularly fresh. I noticed the bag of beans on the counter was roasted on 6/30 and marked down on clearance. Anyway, it's probably a perfectly fine place if you're not obsessed with excellent black coffee or high-quality espresso drinks. The space is large, there's lots of outdoor seating, and the staff is nice. I just wish I'd known going in that the coffee wasn't very good, so I'm writing this review for the other people out there who are equally insufferable about their coffee.

Sure, you'll find the usual espresso drinks, but you'll also spot a few matcha options, creative fizzes, and refreshing tonics. As for pastries? The selection is stunning and freshly made. Peek into the glass case and you'll have a hard time choosing. Pro tip: don't pass up the devil's food cake donut. It's soft, airy, rich with high-quality chocolate... seriously yum. The staff are super friendly and it was fun catching them singing along to the shop playlist while carefully crafting drinks for each customer. The shop is cozy, so expect a line out front. It does move quickly though and is absolutely worth the short wait. There's no seating inside, but a few tables are set up along the arcade walkway for enjoying your treats outside. Parking is pretty easy with a large shared lot behind the arcade (plus some street parking if you're lucky). On my visit, I kept it simple with a vanilla latte, which totally hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to try the Gui Hua Latte and, of course, another devil's food cake donut!

The cafe is located in a long indoor area and love the feel of the hallway. There was a line when I visited, which at first gives the impression that the place is extremely popular and in high demand. But I think the line is partly a result of the limited number of people who can be inside at one time, along with the amount of time it takes to prepare the drinks. The menu is also fairly limited, so there aren't a ton of options to choose from. That said, I really enjoyed the Yin-Yang Coffee + Tea. It's a unique combination and probably the drink that stood out the most to me. I also got a chai latte and a matcha donut. The barista doesn't seem like they enjoy being there...so meh on customer service, too.

That being said, I do believe the quality is one of the best, so worth it if you happen to be in the area and don't mind a bit of a wait. You can see them making the baked goods in the store and the dough is a work of art. There seems to always be some kind of wait and the outside wait is a tad brutal, but there are a bunch of umbrellas you can borrow from the inside, which is a nice gesture from this place. Onto the goods - the chocolate bars are quite steep. Two of these plus a matcha latte and a single chocolate croissant was around $47, so keep that in mind before you stack too much in your cart. The matcha latte was passable in my opinion as well, since the matcha doesn't stand out. A lot of oat milk was used in mine, which diluted most of the matcha. I guess stick to what they are good at. The standout of course is the chocolate croissant. It's quite flaky. Where the surprise comes in is that there seems to be a custard layer inside, along with melted chocolate around the outer parts of the croissant. It's a unique experience and recommend trying while it's hot.
