Stopped into Sub-Ology last week for an impromptu meal, and I must say - they're stuff is FRESH. I ordered a basic turkey/cheese/lettuce/O+V half sub. Packed a very tasty punch, on an extremely fresh roll. I'd heard about this spot from a few people, but never was able to come in. I am definitely new to the area and I have been trying new things out. Decided to come here one day after checking my mail at the post office. I order the spicy tuna special and man was I was in for it. The sandwich was nice and big and tasted amazing all the down to the fresh bread that it was on. everything put into the sandwich made you want to keep eating. It is definitely enough for two people. Got a chicken cutlet through Grubhub. The delivery said delivered and the food wasn't at my address. So I called the store and a woman answered and told me it was delivered Two and a half hours later I come home from getting food since my food from sub-ology never came. I get a call saying my food was outside. confused I take it The boss calls me saying I refunded the order through GrubHub (which I did because it never came and said it was delivered on the app and in-person and then I couldn't get a hold of anyone after 2 hours) I tell him I did cancel and before coming to any sort of negotiation he starts yelling and cursing me out on the phone, "yelling shame on you" like he's my father. I would have settled something but he was asinine and extremely rude and I've never seen someone handle a situation with their business in a more pathetic and embarrassing way. He also accused me of trying to scam him out of a dry cold sandwich that I threw out immediately. So no I didn't try to "rob" you. boss is a loser and needs to grow up, food is honestly gross, took two and half hours to deliver 7 minutes away. Learn to run a business and don't get mad at me for your incompetent business and that your delivery boy who's too stoned to deliver a fucking sandwich. read more

Let me start of by saying, the owner is the reason why this sandwich shop continues to get fabulous reviews; he really connects with his customers and listens to what they want. When I walked in, I had already placed a Grubhub order. He welcomed me and then began to make my sandwich and asked me if I wanted any extras for no charge. The food is fresh. I ordered an egg salad sandwich and a cheese sandwich and he made the egg salad fresh in front of my face. Also, I had avocado in both my subs and he cut open the avocado fresh as well. The bread is soft and they use Boars Heads meats, cheeses and sauces. Must try the chipotle sauce it's amazing! Go try this place out as you won't be disappointed! read more

Sub-Ology has tasty sandwiches because they have interesting combinations of meat, cheese, condiments, etc. and, most importantly, because they pay attention to the ratios and proportions of all of the elements on their sandwich. This aspect -- ratios -- is critical for sandwiches and salads, but many restaurants don't pay attention to this detail. Sub-Ology does, and we are all the better for it. My recent Cranford Special sub had the perfect amount of field greens to chicken breast, and the balsamic was enough to lend flavor, but not drowning in it. The "That's Spicy" sub had thin chicken to not dominate and was nicely spicy -- just as advertised. Excellent bread and friendly service every time. We will be back. read more

Received an email at 515 stating that my order was cancelled and I'm pretty sure it is because the store was closing. I did not have a complex order that would have taken a while to complete; I ordered a simple sub. So I was in front of a local hometown sub shop stop in Linden NJ and I noticed they only took cash. I then hurry on yelp to find another sub shop near me and I came across "SUB-OLOGY". Let me begin by saying that Cranford is a beautiful town definitely enjoyed my ride in your city being it was my first time. Your shop is super clean and your staff is super friendly. I was even acknowledged multiple times within my wait and stay, I loved that because it shows hospitality which many places don't know how to provide. My Sub was great tasting just a few minor quality concerns that I had which they are just my opinion. I left your shop with my jaw and rear teeth being sore because the Italian bread was not smooth at all, from all the hard chewing i was actually tired of eating my sub after awhile. Also your avocado was turning black and tasted sour didn't really enjoy that much at all. It's Grub Hub that I have a problem with. ................This review is really about Grub Hub at (908) 312-5303 and their communication skills. I ordered a pick up at Sub-Ology through Grub Hub. BIG MISTAKE. The person on the other end was having a problem understanding me as English was apparently not her first language. After a torturous 15 minutes of my repeating my order and her reading it back to me (twice). She called Sub-Ology and gave them the wrong order for the 4 items I ordered. I ordered 2 Chicken Caesar Salads; 1 Caesar Wrap and 1 Ham and Mozzarella sub. What I got was 2 Caesar salads with NO chicken; A Greek Salad wrap and Ham and American Cheese. So all 4 orders were wrong on Grub Hub's end. When I called and asked for a partial credit, they told me I had to get it from Sub-Ology. My hubby and I were excited for a new sub spot to grab lunch in town. Unfortunately, Subology will NOT make it on my list. I was very disappointed with the stale bread and the pitiful amount of meat on my sandwich. I didn't even eat the sub! I had to go out and get lunch elsewhere.
