I was so excited to try this place out because of the awesome reviews but I was so disappointed. I ordered a salad and 75% of the mixed greens were rotten. The chicken did not taste fresh at all. I just went back today after not having been in a while. Well I went twice in the last 2 weeks since it was so damn good. First of all I get a welcome like Norm when I walk in. Who does that these days? They make you feel like family. And it is a family business. Such a difference. They have changed their bread supplier and it is even better bread now. I eat regularly at Sal, Chris, & Charles in Astoria, Mama's in Queens, Defontes in Brooklyn and this place is by far the best Sub I have ever had. They have the best Boars Head selection and the toppings are awesome. Everything seems so fresh. This place is like the anti-Subway. Today the owner asked if I wanted to try the Chicken Salad on Pretzel bread. I said it sounds good but I had my heart set on a Turkey Sandwich. While I was paying for my turkey Sub the owner made me a half Chicken Salad on Pretzel for free just so I could try it. Nobody does that. This place is the best. read more

Almost all of their meats are Boar's Head brand. Fresh and tasty. And the bread, oh you know the kind, perfectly firm but still not too hard on the outside and fluffy on the inside to soak up any amount of oil and vinegar you want on it. I had the #4 and it exceeded my expectations. They will cater wonderful platters to your office or send you on a picnic with the goods. Subs by far can be simple if you want it to be - and Sub-Ology does an awesome job making the perfect simple sub, thus a happy boyfriend I have. But if it needs to be complex you can challenge them. So who new it was so hard to find a good sub after 5pm in this area. First off hate the chain store subs horrible. Check out some pizza joints subs not very good. So trying to figure out what to do for a sub and it's after 5and all good Italian delis are closed. Went to Yelp and this place showed up, went in very clean staff very friendly. Got a basic sub for my friend and a speciality for myself. WOW good bread great meat its boars head. I knew it would be pricey because of the boars head but it's worth it. Place is fast and friendly and opening after 5pm. I defiantly recommended it if your in the mood for a good sub, also check out their specialty subs very good and have cool names. read more

As a guy who loves a good sandwich, this place did not disappoint. Personally, I love Primo's Hoagies in the Philly area and this place gave me a similar feel. I got an Italian Sub and it was exactly what I wanted. The bread was soft with decent crust. I prefer my bread just a little crustier and definitely with sesame seeds (ala primo) but not everyone does. The important thing is that it holds up to the toppings and the olive oil and vinegar so it doesn't get mushy. And they nailed it. They also didn't drench the thing in oil and vinegar either which is the quickest way to ruin a sandwich. They loaded that sandwich with meat but didn't overstuff it. Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were fresh and full of flavor, nice and thin sliced tomatoes and onions. Would have loved a little more prosciutto but no worries . Also would like to see a sharp provolone at some point on the menu, maybe some more salami varieties. Bottom line, great sandwiches. Gourmet and worth the price. I'll be back read more

We were visiting Cranford when we realized we were hungry. We were looking for a place to eat with the kids. We noticed there were a couple of families in there so we went in. It was really nice, clean and the staff was really friendly, especially with the kids. The sandwiches were delicious and the chocolate egg creams were amazing. The staff is warm (I was greeted with a smile of recognition at my second visit) and competent. The huge--HUGE!--sandwiches are beautifully constructed and so tasty.
