I thought sandwich meat was to processed and poor quality. The bread was just ok... nothing special. I would not go back on my own

Oh Buddy, talk about a tasty sandwich. Their menu items are creative and you can taste that they use fresh ingredients. I've only ever gotten it delivered and I can tell you that these cats are quick on the peddle. I appreciate their multitude of options for those with different dietary concerns. I would say that I have a favorite but I don't because every time I order something new and love it. Last time I had the Fiat and boy howdy! I really wanted to say thank you to the delivery cyclist who brought me Boylans ginger ale with my order last night to Bound by Design. It may sound silly but I was actually having kind of a crappy day and it just really made things better. I suppose it struck me as a particularly nice gesture of someone giving a shit and that truly improved my mood. I hope I thanked you enough in person, I didn't want you to think I was a weirdo for getting overly excited about soda, but it was obvious that an effort was made, and that effort, small as though it may seem, meant a lot in the scheme of my bummer-laden day. Thank you! As far as a traditional review goes here are my thoughts: I am newly addicted to Sub Culture! Tons of veggie options that are more than just "here's a salad on bread" fare. I've had the Alps thus far and it is just delightful. Savory and satisfying to the max! I can't wait to try the veggie Ruben as well. I love that there's local beer and Boylans soda. Seriously, if you haven't tried Boylans soda yet, you're really missing out. I don't really drink much pop anymore because it's not actually that tasty and the extremely high sugar content isn't worth it. However, Boylans is small batch soda and Sub Culture carries it in their fountain. Yes, it takes longer than Jimmy Johns or *gag* Subway and is pricier, but what do you expect? Do you want a great sandwich with quality ingredients or do you just want something quick to shove in your piehole? I choose local quality, I choose deliciousiousity, I choose Sub Culture! read more

I had a BLT and chopped salad. BLT was yuck. There was a lot of bacon but some of it was huge, grey, fatty pieces. I couldn't finish because it was gross. Barely any tomato but at least the avocado was fresh. The french bread has a great texture but no flavor. The salad is meh. Cheap blue cheese and so so ranch dressing. Not a fan and won't be returning. read more

Okay....I really tried to love this place. We ordered again recently and it was the worst kind of mess. The sandwiches were beyond messed up with the wrong condiments, the wrong meats etc. It was gross. Won't be coming back here again. There are too many great little sandwich shops in Denver. I'm leaving it at two stars because about half the time it's great, the other half it's pretty awful. Considering the price of the sandwiches it's just not worth it. read more

Best sandwiches I've found in Denver, good beer selection, Boylans sodas, great salads, and lots of vegetarian options. The service is fast, the people are nice and the vibe is cool. And they offer local delivery. My favorite sandwich is the Uncle Bert - roast beef, portobellos and melted provolone on a toasted wheat bun that's nutty and soft with a delicately, crispy crust. The sandwiches here are decent. But every time I order delivery from them, something get's messed up. And I'm not talking they put something on my sandwich that I asked them to remove. I'm talking about them losing my order completely, taking 2+ hours to deliver. I definitely don't recommend them unless you're planning on walking in to order. Otherwise, steer clear. read more

Amazing sandwiches! Tried the Gaucho my first time would recommend it to anybody who loves subs, will be back for more of this deliciousness. My only qualm was that I just needed an extra piece of paper to take my second half of my sandwich home and the only person behind the counter was listening to music and when I got his attention he pointed at his headphones and then I'm assuming his bleached tips to make sure I knew he was for sure a complete tool and I continued to stand there for 5 minutes before another worker got back from her break. read more

Service was friendly and fast. But 12 inch sub apparently means 12 inches of bread. Monte Cubano apparently means a two slices of crappy super market deli meat, grey poupon, and pickles. I planned to eat the second half of the sandwich tomorrow but one half didn't even come close to filling me up. read more

I really like the food here and the service is pretty good, but I'm not so impressed with that Ted Nugent looking guy with the muddy blue eyes and mediocre tattoos. Yeah dude, we get it. Once he poured us a pitcher of award winning beer and it had about an inch of foam!!! Shouldn't you be good at this? This is a great restaurant! Close to Capitol Hill/DPL. Mom had a bowl of Cheese Broccoli soup that she loved. It was thick and creamy with a good amount of broccoli. Sister had the "Giving Thanks" sub. She thoroughly enjoyed it. She said it had great flavor and the 7 inch was a perfect size for her. I had the "Sub Cobber" salad. There was a nice combination of greens, meat and other ingredients and everything was fresh. This is a place to keep in mind for another visit anytime we are in Denver. read more

I wanted a celebratory beer and this was the best rated place near me so I came here. This place was not a let down, the beer was really tasty, the sandwich was delicious, and the cookie was just right. The guys were all really nice and helpful, and really courteous. The inside was fairly clean, they had bathrooms and there was sufficient lot and street parking. It was empty when I came in but it was also down pouring, but quite a few people came through while I was taking my time with my food. I will definitely be coming here again. read more

I am really rooting for this place. After seeing place after place in and out of there, it seems like the spot is cursed. And when I heard that a sub shop was going in there, my little heart leapt for joy. I've eaten here several times, but the quality is just not up to Snarf's or Mr. Lucky's- sadly. I'd probably eat here much more often if it was, seeing as it's just around the corner. The sandwiches lack flavor- they just miss something. It's hard to taste the horseradish/mayo/you-name-the-condiment on the sandwiches. The bread kind of overpowers everything.Bland I guess it the word I think of. And at $10 a sub, that makes it kinda difficult to keep coming back. The options are great for variety, and have lots of vegetarian options. The happy hour is awesome. The staff is always super friendly. The "Draw a Joker Card" and get your meal free is so cool! But what keeps people (me) coming back to a place is usually the food. And when I know I can get a much better tasting sub for a few bucks cheaper, it's too tempting to go there instead. Tucked on the corner of Pennsylvania and 13th, a quick and clean place where I've never had issues with parking, surprisingly. So far I've tried the Tuna Melt and Roma on wheat. The Tuna Melt was super good, tuna with cheddar on top served warm with just the right amount of mayo. I took it with me to go and when I finally sat to eat it (~20mins later) the bread was still chewy on the outside and not soggy. The Roma is vegetarian and the different vegetables topped with pesto was filling even without meat, so highly recommend both. The best part though, is they play this "gambling" game where they let you pick a giant card out of a giant deck. They use this card to bring you your food (like a table number) but in addition, some cards let you have a free sub! They'll only do this if you say you're dining-in but as the guy told me, they wrap it the same way whether you dine-in or do to-go so might as well... And did I mention they serve alcohol? Amazing bread. The bread was chewy and fresh. Quick service, great menu. I ordered the YaYa+, and it had the perfect amounts of everything. I guess I would have liked a little more mayo, but that's a personal preference. I like that they serve beer. It was a little loud in there and I wish they included chips with your order. But again, the bread is phenomenal. Worth a trip for sure. If you live in the area, eat there lots. read more

Pretty chill laid back sub shop. Always playing good music and nice airy interior and spacious patio. Best part is there is parking!! Unheard of for a capital hill establishment. My boss an I order from here a few times a month. Normally we really enjoy our food how ever today was horrible. I ordered the yaya+ my bacon was mostly fat, my lettuce was brown and old, my bread was hard and keep falling apart with every bit I took, the tomatoes were soggy and you can tell they were old,l. My boss ordered the Reuben, the meat was all fatty and nerves, also had hard old bread. We are both so disappointed that we spent $30 and didn't enjoy it. read more

We came here last week after pride. My mom realized she ordered the wrong sub, and ordered the one she meant to creating a second credit card transaction. Whoever was working felt it was ok to add in an extra $5 tip for themselves on the second credit card transaction after we left. Super sketchy, and actual theft. Luckily my mom checks her transactions enough to notice and dispute the charge as soon as it happened. Not fricking cool, SubCulture. We were delightfully surprised by the wonderful lunch we ate here. I had an Uncle Burt sandwich, which is a wonderful take on a Philly Cheese but has Mushrooms and onion along with the tender beef and cheese served on a French Bread Roll. My husband had the Rueben and the only thing it lacked was mustard which we received after asking!! Great stopover for lunch on the way to Molly Brown House. The sandwiches are huge ! So good! There are so many sandwiches (tons of vegetarian ones too)! I highly recommend the Monet...delicious...parking can definitely be problematic in the area. There are a few spots in front and the streets do get full fast. You get to pick a card out of a deck (or you are given one)...if it is the Joker, your sub is free. This place goes beyond beefy goodness. Although that is definitely the specialty here. Slow-roasted beef on a sandwich can be a gloppy mess or melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Sub Culture's beef sando is definiitely on it's game. I am almost scared to branch out. But a few days ago I tried the hot ham sandwich and it was also really damn tasty. I hate to give this place two stars because the staff was really friendly. However, I wasn't impressed by my sandwich. I had the BEEF & BLUE CHEESE & BACON & GRILLED ONION. It was edible. I added the horseradish sauce to give it a little kick and there was no kick to be found. I didn't know about the hot peppers, but my friend added hot peppers to his sandwich and was still adding Cholula hot sauce because he didn't think it was spicy enough.
