Very enjoyable experience this evening. My daughter and I dined in. I got the poke bowl with miso soup and pork gyoza. My daughter got some speciality sushi rolls and ramune soda. We really enjoyed all of it. I hadn't been to this location in at least a year and a half and was pleasantly surprised by the charming eat-in experience. At first looking at the menu, I thought it was going to be like those Chinese takeout fast food vibe, but a closer look you'll realize they put a lot of thought into their menu! The Chicken Karaage appetizer I got was so yummy ... it's different then the Karaage you usually get at Japanese restaurants. Their Karaage is like a thinly pounded pork chop (Tonkatsu) style?? Very interesting ... and the sauce that goes with it is so good! Their "Suben Roll" selection are their own speciality roll. But even the "Special Roll" sections sounds delicious! I got the Suben dragon roll and it came with fried chicken and eel on top!! I love this little sushi place! Located in Carrollton, awesome flavors. Great service, I love the low-key chill vibe. Most definitely will be back. The inside area is super clean, menu is super easy to read. I got a roll with scallop on top that was so good. And then I had a salmon roll with some lemon and chili which I've never had before but it did not disappoint. They also have games that you can play while you eat, that was pretty cool. We definitely came here on an off day because our experience was far from perfect. You can tell that this place is still new and working out some kinks so I will definitely return to see if anything has changed. We came in around lunch time and although there was only another table (6 people) that was dining in, my boyfriend and I could quickly tell that most of their orders are take away as people kept trickling in to pick up their mobile orders. Unfortunately, the employees were very far behind and each person that came in to grab their orders were told to wait longer. We ended up ordering spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, Suben steak roll, caterpillar 2 roll and an order of karaage chicken. We did have to wait a lot longer than we anticipated but the real disappointment was the food for us. The rolls were rushed and most of them fell apart when you picked them up. We also didn't get spicy yellowtail but regular yellowtail instead. We didn't mind the mistake too much as the table next to us actually went up to complain that 2 of the 6 people's order never came out and that after they waited an entire lunch break they needed to go to return to work. After seeing one of the employees literally run around to the other employees to tell them they had forgot the orders, we decided that having sriracha squirted on our yellowtail wasn't all that important. The other table ended up leaving and we watched again as the employees scrambled to catch up. What I did care for was after finishing our sushi, we were still waiting on our chicken karaage, which was supposed to be an appetizer. Since we paid for it, we stood back in line and told the employee, who sprinted to the fridge to take out an order of chicken before dumping it into the fryer. The whole thing seemed really disorganized and I just didn't care for the food as much as I wanted. The online order for the Poke bowls offered choices to select from to customize your bowl. While this was a nice feature the bowl lacked something. I went with the combo rice and fresh greens which filled up the bowl but the fish choice that I selected was tuna and I felt like I got a very stingy offering of it in my bowl. Dined here as part of their Groupon deal which was such a steal! Would definitely recommend it while you still can. They are not doing indoor dining- just pick up and takeout. All workers were wearing their masks the entire time correctly. There was also a plexiglass screen in between you and the person taking your order. I felt pretty safe. We didn't know it was a more to go place and not a sit down place. We did the daily 5 special roll for 50 something. We ordered a few off the menu and it wasn't good. We asked for a side of spicy mayo and the hostess/waitress looked at us and said "there's mayo on the sushi" and said "I will give you one". It was awkward but yea the specialty rolls are not specialty at all. Most of them tasted bland and the rice tasted off.
