I actually tried Subito at the AMP in Indianapolis but didn't see a separate spot for a review ~ my bad if I missed it but absolutely loved this spot! Chuck was so much fun and had amazing recommendations. We enjoyed a Chef Salad, Italian Sandwich, and Chicken Pot Pie for lunch (approximately $30). Everything was extremely filling and DELICIOUS. I had a friend highly recommending this spot and so happy I was finally able to give it a try.

If yelp allowed it, I'd give Subito a 10/10. They are so reliable, consistent, kind, and learn who their customers are. I've gone countless times since I learned about them pre covid. One of the biggest things I miss about my old office is being across the street. They do in person and/or online ordering. They have a monthly calendar (if you look online, there is a promo code on top of the calendar you can use for some mobile orders) which brings out daily specials for soups. Then, their standard menu. I've never been disappointed with whatever I try. As of of the last year or two, they've expanded their space and now have in house seating. Spacious and amazing. Hands down a fave downtown spot and almost a hidden gem from non locals.

Amazing sandwich and soup spot downtown Indy. Everything on the menu is delicious and they have rotating soups. Staff is always friendly and the place is always clean. Would love if they opened on the weekends!

What are the odds that the owner of Subito is from my hometown of Federal Way Washington?!

Awwwww man! Chuck is the best! From my hometown in Washington State, this guy runs the real deal in Indy at SUBITO. Second time there for me (I fly for a living) this time I had the turkey pesto and Korean beef stew! To die for! And don't get me started on the home baked cookies!

Out there somewhere is a strong negative correlate between restaurant hours of operation and grub quality. If you find that, find me. My primary curiosity resides in the name - Subito - as in little Sub? Big things do come in small packages, ask super-sub Chicharito about that. This is a lunch spot through and through. Tidy tank of an operation. Eating at noon thirty is a high floor, low ceiling operation in my eyes. Folks get to leave work and spend some hard-earned cheddar. What's not to like? In no capacity do I dislike Subito, yet the vessel that'd have me swearing it up and down is either a 15% drop in price or 30% jump in size. I'm just in that gray space between satisfied and full. Humbly, Ceejito.

My apologies for the bite taken out I was hungry ‍

First time in. My co workers said it was a mistake...a mistake to miss out on a terrific place for lunch to have some amazing food! Really busy so I knew it had to be good. I ordered the chicken Cesar salad wrap & had to try a choc chip cookie. Woah. Delicious, filled so much the tortilla was busting! Hands down best wrap I've had! Cookie was amazing and I ate it without taking a pic so my apologies but definitely fresh and very chocolatey. The young man at the register helping me was very kind ... I want to say his name was Adam so I'm hoping I got that right if not my apologies. Definitely going back to try another wrap or soup even!

Really enjoyed this spot for lunch while we were in Indy for FDIC... a long line at lunch is usually a good sign and while it was long it didn't take long to get our food. The menu is classic deli fare with a few unique options thrown in. I went for a simple chicken wrap with a side of their Grandmas beef soup. The wrap was decent but a little loose so it fell apart as I was trying to eat it. It could have had a bit more dressing as it was tad on the dry side. The soup was very flavorful but was actually a bit non-substantive. This was mainly because the veggies are pureed so the only texture is the few beef chunks and small pieces of noodles. The star of the meal though was actually dessert... the maple glazed oatmeal craisan cookies are LEGIT! I would come back just for these alone and actually bought the last two they had before we left to take with us. I would definitely try Subito again but would go for some different menu options next time.

Quick, friendly counter service. Limited table seating, but ample bar top style seating. I ordered the caprese sandwich. It was good, but I wouldn't say it would be worth going back for. I wished I had tried a salad or soup instead. I would return, just to wouldn't order the same thing. The bread was soggy, which is as a disappointment. I still ate it all though.

Italian sausage and butternut squash soup and TBOB

We stopped in for a quick lunch in between meetings, and this place was packed, and we could definitely tell why. The staff were really efficient in taking orders, going down the line to reduce the back up. Even though it was packed, it did not take us long to get our food, which was a very pleasant surprise. It's not a huge space but after the main lunch rush, it totally cleared out. I got a cup of the Italian sausage and butternut squash soup and the TBOB. The pieces of sausage in the soup were small, but the flavor was really good. The TBOB was good, it needed some more onion jam or another sauce. It's a good spot for lunch, I look forward to trying more items in the future.

Stopped in here for lunch today with some work friends! We are currently working our way through a list we compiled for places to try for lunch to force ourselves to get out of the office once a week. I've always wanted to try Subito, but haven't been because they are only open Monday-Friday for lunch (and I usually will bring my lunch to work with me). Thanks to our weekly lunch dates out, I was finally able to stop in. The whole shop smelled sooo good and stayed busy, lots of people bustling in and out. There were plenty of seating options and it's a relatively quick meal to finish (soups/salads/sandwiches), so I don't think waiting for a table would ever be a problem. One friend ordered a salad, my other friend ordered a lunch combo with a hot sandwich and a cup of soup, and I also ordered a lunch combo with a hot sandwich and a cup of soup. I opted for the Poeta (added avocado) and then chose the lemon chicken soup that they had on the board today. We all really enjoyed our meals! I also got a can of kombucha and it rounded out my meal perfectly. We left feeling full and satisfied, but not sluggish and bloated, so it's the perfect portion size. The shop was very clean and is in a great location downtown for everyone to walk to for lunch. We snagged a great parking spot right across the street, but there are plenty of paid parking spots nearby. We got there before noon and it wasn't quite as busy, but as soon as noon hit there was a lot more foot traffic. Just something to keep in mind.

    Revelo and Turkey Pesto
    Vincent Y.

WOW!!! This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but they serve some of the best sandwiches I ever had. About $25 for two phenomenal sandwiches. Had the Revelo and Turkey Pesto and both shined in their own way. The Revelo was definitely my favorite, never heard of mojo sauce until having this and it did not disappoint, flavor was immaculate. The Turkey Pesto was also amazing, filled with this great walnut basil pesto and fresh mozzarella.

This soup is so delicious! Perfect for a cold day. Has a little spice, so it gives it a kick. Very flavorful. I haven't been since they've renovated/added on, the place looks great. I grabbed my soup to go but there's seating if you want to eat inside. The guys were very nice as well. Very helpful when making my soup choice. Even persuaded me to add on a cookie. Let's be honest, didn't need any persuasion. Thick Chocolate Chip Cookie, crispy edges, soft on the inside. Can't wait to try some more of their soups!

Tuna sandwich - admittedly several hours old (it was refrigerated) and still hits the spot!

Ok. This place is totally worth the hype. Had a short window during a meeting to grab lunch and knew this was where I wanted to go. Got there and the line was practically out the door. But it moved fast and I loved chatting with the ppl behind me who were clearly regulars and recommended the chocolate chip cookies along with everything thing else. Got to the counter and the owner (apparently) was taking orders. I was gonna have the sandwich for dinner so needed a cold one. He recommended the tuna and man...one of the best I've had. Places like these make my heart and belly full!

I've shared, quite often, of my deep appreciation for the Shapiro's response when I had accessibility concerns about their Fashion Mall location. They did a remarkably beautiful job of responding well, adapting, and yet also honoring their own business needs. The end result became a more accessible layout that was still customer friendly for everyone. I will always appreciate that response and should their praises. But, there's something special about this location. It's the look. It's the feel. It's the vibe. It's just everything. A little bit of Shapiro's history - you can trace the Shapiro family back to 1795 Ukraine. Louis and Rebecca Shapiro landed stateside in 1905; within a couple years opening a small grocery/deli. In 1925, they leaned into their cultural and faith roots after the election of Ed Jackson as governor (Jackson was a well-known Klan member). They added the word "kosher" to their building and a Star of David. (As someone who's traveled over 7,000 miles by wheelchair, I love a good act of subtle rebellion). They more and more leaned into their cafe routes, and in 1984 added a second location on the northwestside. I probably frequented this location the most since I went to Pike High School. As we all know, that location eventually closed. Fashion Mall lasted about five years. There was a Carmel spot, too. But, for me, it always comes down to this location. It's warm. It's friendly. The food is a premium deli experience. I love the meatloaf (like seriously). They have breakfast, they have a ton of baked good options (cakes, cookies, others), soups, salads, hot deli, cold deli, sandwiches, entrees, and a whole lot more. I love the baked goods. I love the fried chicken. Is it a bit pricey? Yep. You also get enough for at least a couple meals (if you can truly hold out that long). Accessibility is solid here. I've already talked about their attention to that kind of detail. It's real AND it's sincere. Strangely enough, I've never had the Reuben here. It's one of their acclaimed sandwiches, but there's always something else I want more. While you can spend a fair amount here, you can also eat here pretty modestly. Shapiro's, at least for me, is one of those places that defines Indy. I'd likely weep if they ever left our city. Good food. Great family. Wonderful location. Fair pricing. Accessible. Quite honestly, it's just about everything I want a restaurant to be.

My husband ordered The Traveler with eggs over-medium. Everything was perfectly prepared. The proportions for the salad were just right and the salmon was juicy, flavorful and crisp from the blackening. My husband wasn't expecting the somewhat unique preparation of the breakfast potatoes, but I found them to be satisfyingly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I also ordered the seasonal Strawberry Margarita with a sugar rim. It was light and refreshing. The atmosphere is very chic, stylish and feels very upscale. The dining room, and even the restrooms, boast this amazing natural light from all of the great, big windows! Our server, Roop, was kind and attentive and the hostess was warm and inviting.
