Subito has my entire heart. This has been one of favorite places to get lunch in the middle of a work day for several years. The Walla Walla is AMAZING and I always grab a bag of broad ripple chips. I feel like the team that works here really cares about creating amazing food and building relationships with the people that come in the building. I was excited to try this place after seeing the stellar reviews and long line outside the door. The workers are helpful and accommodating, taking our order while in line. The soups rotate and there are also combos which include salad, soup and sandwich. The soups rotate daily based on a schedule found online. There was a roasted chicken soup and vegetable soup on the day I visited. I had the soup and half spinach salad which also came with a piece fresh bread. The salad was very good with apple and goat cheese. I was disappointed with the chicken soup which was salty without any other flavor or seasonings. The broth's texture was also thick and gelatinous, not what I would expect for a chicken soup. I ended up just picking around the broth for the chicken pieces. I hope this was just a residual batch and not the norm. The bread was tasty, yeasty and soft despite eating it alone. The shop is very tiny but don't be deterred by the long line at lunch since it moves pretty quickly. I would return for the salad and bread and very nice service. read more

We visited for the first time today and it was such a great experience! Everyone was welcoming and passionate about their foods. They offered samples and recommendations and made first-time ordering so easy. I tried the Caprese sandwich and sweet corn soup and my husband had the brisket and butternut squash soup. When you see the line out the door that accompanies some of Subito's best soups, you won't believe me when I say the place is underrated. But the thing is, I genuinely believe they have the best soups in the city. Each day, Subito has two specialty soups, as well as a standard vegetable soup and half a dozen salad/sandwich options. Additionally, their front counter guys loves cookies -- so he usually has a fresh baked option that he tries to sell you on. When I say I've never had something there I didn't love, that's not an exaggeration. Their Pork Pozole soup is a favorite of mine, as is the Lobster Bisque (plan ahead and get there early on Lobster Bisque day). As far as sandwiches, I would recommend the Walla Walla, the Cuban, and the Turkey Avocado Wrap. You should know that while sandwiches come with macaroni salad (it's great -- not slimy grocery store macaroni salad) you can add on an 8oz soup as well for a slight up charge. read more

Oh Subito, I love you so. This place is incredible. Not only is it affordable, but it's fresh and delicious. I love that they make their Country Vegetable soup every day; it's nice to know there will always be a consistent, flavorful vegan option every day. This is more than just a soup place, though. The salads are fresh and amazing. Be sure to ask for a side of grilled cheese with your soup (perfect for dipping). If you go around noon on a weekday, be prepared to wait in line and know what you want when you get in line, because they might ask you for your order before you get to the register. What a neat little soup and sandwich shop. For my first time being there I felt super welcomed. Although very small inside, the flavors are bold and plentiful. Their menu makes it easy to order and customize. I would not have know about this if it wasn't for other reviews. It is a small hole-in-the-wall shop like others suggest. This is true 5 star experience! The staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions for first time customers. Even though there was a line fo ming out the door, the ordering and getting food was less than 10 minutes. Menu is limited, but I consider that a positive because it means they focus on quality instead of quantity. I will definitely be back since it is a 5 minute walk from the office. They say big things in life comes in small sizes and that's very true for this place. It's a very small food joint with no seating options available. They have a small but decent menu and the best thing is the staff. They are very friendly and professional. Form the time time they greet you to time time they give you your ordered food they will make sure to make you comfortable and also suggest what you should try. I ended up ordering too much food for my self and the person actually informed me that will be too much of food to be consumed at one time so I ended up reducing my portion size which was very helpful. Normally people end up selling you what you ask and dont bother about you can eat that mush or not which is a big plus to got to this place as you will ot only end up saving g money but also not end up wasting food. I loved there soups and sandwich was very filling too. I will recommend if you are around Indy and want to grab food and go home/ office or sit somewhere in downtown Indy like at market place seating options you should try it. All of their sandwiches are solid but the Revelo and brisket dip are my favorites. I also recommend getting a build your own grilled cheese on the side of any soup! I go once a week and get extra for lunch the next day when I work outside of their delivery zone. I have found my new go-to carryout place for sitting on Monument Circle! Everyone working there is friendly and happy. It gives off a very happy vibe, and I love that the kitchen is open and just steps from the food counter. Being a clean freak, I love to see my food being made. The kitchen looks spotless! At 11:30, there was a small line, but it went fast. I was pleased that my salad was freshly assembled, not already packed and wilting. The grilled cheese is small but mighty. It had plenty of melty cheese and I love it on the soft but crunchy ciabatta bread. I tried the beef in Guiness Stew. It had lots of beef and was chock full of veggies. Unfortunately, I have an aversion to thyme and this stew seemed to have a lot of it. But other than that, a solid soup. Their house-made Caesar is very different. It was green, and tasted like basically oil and cheese. I actually called to see if I was given the wrong one. The owner reached out to me and noted the dressing includes anchovies, garlic, fresh parsley, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, dijon, lemon juice, and pepper. It was delicious, but much more comparable to a cheesy pesto than a traditional Caesar. I would totally get it again. I'm very excited to go back and try some of the other sandwich options, too! For about $11, I got a substantial salad, 8 oz. of soup, a small grilled cheese, and a can of soda. My original review was 4-star. However, within 15 minutes of posting it, the owner had responded to me, thanking me for my feedback, offering the ingredients in the dressing, and letting me know I can always ask to sample the soups to avoid any thyme-heavy offerings. With kind customer service like that, I want to bump them to 5-stars! You can't beat a place with an owner who truly cares that you have a good experience with their business. The pozole and the asparagus proscuitto were both delicious concoctions that screamed fresh ingredients and homemade. The Georgetown was a delight, on the beautiful house baked ciabatta was spread the aforementioned Sriacha cream cheese accompanied by sautéed onions and a sizable amount of pastrami. It was a revelation. Take a look at the menu, however, and you'll see that their passion is soup. I had the Italian wedding and it was flush with chunks of sausage and speckled with couscous. It was somehow better than the sandwich, which I didn't think was possible. Need more incentive to visit? Look at the bonkers rotating soup menu. Roasted red pepper and sweet potato? Subito is an absolute dream and the perfect lunch for a chilly day. It took a while for me to give it a go since I tend to bring lunch when the weather cools down, but I'm so glad I finally did! BF and I did curbside pick up on a Friday around noon. It only took 10 minutes for our order to be ready! So quick. We split a TBOB and a Super sandwich. Both were insanely delicious and I can't decide which one I liked more. We also each got a small side soup of their daily special. It happened to be Chicken Tortilla and Korean Brisket Stew that day. We went with the Stew because it sounded so unique and it more than delivered - hearty and savory without feeling heavy. We felt so satisfied and happy for under $12 a person. I had the Cuban sandwich with Lobster Bisque (bisque is only on certain days). This day came with a brownie which is nice to ha e a little dessert. I had a really good meal from Subito today. It was a nice weather day, so I didn't mind street parking a couple blocks away down Virginia Avenue and walking to the shop. It was 12:30 on Wednesday, and I noticed the line was backed up to the door. At first I thought it might be a long wait, but once you see how small this place is, you realize why there is no seating. You also realize that five people ahead of you fills the entryway! The good news, is that these guys are efficient! The man at the counter was friendly and knew how to keep the line moving, keeping the orders flowing back to the three guys in the back. If you haven't looked at the menu online (or grabbed one of their monthly soup charts), you can see what sandwiches and sides are available on an overhead whiteboard. The drinks they have are chilled in a refrigerated unit next to the counter. The soups available for the day are on a sign in the corner. Anyway, once you order and pay, they ask your name and you step to the side where you can see your order made. Even though I started on the outside, it was less than ten minutes until I had my order in hand and was out the door! Wow! I've waited at fast food places downtown longer than that! I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap - crisp Romaine lettuce, chicken breast, tomato, aged pecorino Romano with scratch-made Caesar dressing on a tomato-basil wrap; housemade macaroni salad (with onions, celery, roasted red peppers, and herbs/spices). Both were excellent. Note: If you are interested in the soups of the day, you can ask to have a sample of each to help you make up your mind. Sure, it would be nice to have parking available. Yes, it would be nice to have a table to sit at close by. But the owner/chef of this business has a plan to make a go of it counting on folks who work downtown and plan to head back to their office or to one of the nearby parks to eat. Food = Incredible. Location = Horrible. Honestly, this is some of the best soup I've ever had. Also honestly, if you aren't within walking distance, don't even try and drive here between the hours of 11 and 1. The parking situation is just horrific. Subito is on a small diagonal strip surrounded by 4 one-way streets. The only available parking is street parking, and that is always full. So you end up circling the block a few times, hoping to hit the lottery, and eventually you just have to give up. When I go with co-workers, we will drop someone off for all the orders and continue driving around, but when you are solo, you need to find a spot, and these simply don't exist during the lunch hour. It is such a shame. I can go to any restaurant on Mass Avenue during the lunch hour and find a spot to park. But due to it's location, I rarely even try anymore with Subito. I would say less than 30% of the time I'm able to find a parking spot. Hopefully, these guys can eventually relocate to a better spot in the city. This one-block stretch of Virginia Ave is literally the worst spot in the downtown area. read more

I stopped in here a few months ago and have been meaning to write a review ever since because of the friendly service and good food. My boyfriend and I were passing through Indianapolis while driving from Denver, CO to Red Bank, NJ, which was a miserable drive that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Anyway, this came up in my yelp search of places that looked somewhat convenient to I-70 so we stopped. I don't remember exactly what I ordered, but I do remember that it was delicious. Also, while we waited for the food, they gave us hot soup samples and told us all about their bread, which is homemade. I am a bit of a food snob when it comes to bread because I was raised in NJ where fresh bread is taken very seriously so I truly appreciated that they make their own bread fresh every day. In general, I can tell that they put a lot of love into their food and they are proud of what they serve. Took me a year and a half to get here (being closed on weekends has made it difficult), but boy am I glad I did. The first thing to know going to Subito: they do not have seating. So, be prepared to take it elsewhere (or just eat outside on a nice day). Something I noticed immediately once I arrived was how many of the people in line seemed to be regulars. The person taking orders knew many by name, and they knew him. It further gave me the impression that Subito was top-notch. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and a side of soup. The sandwich was fantastic, and I was especially happy it came on grilled sourdough, since I'm one of the few that does not enjoy their Reubens on rye bread. In terms of square footage, it was not a huge sandwich, but it was loaded with everything inside which made it more than big enough to satisfy a lunch hunger. The soup on the side, which I found to be a great value addition to the meal, was also delicious. To be honest, I'm pretty sure they gave me the wrong soup, but it was delicious regardless, so who am I to complain? The one other thing I'll say about the food is that I'm in agreement with many of the other reviewers in that the macaroni salad that comes with the meal is not the star of the show.
