Came in on the Sunday before Memorial Day. Ordered what I had last time I was here with slightly different toppings. I was super hungry and wanted to order this Sandwich again. I had a Large Santa Fe on Toasted Squaw Bread with Freshly sliced avocados, Chipotle mayo, purple onions, alfalfa sprouts, pepperoncini peppers & tomatoes and an Arizona Sweet Tea to drink. No other Sub Sandwich shop serves Squaw Bread or Sprouts and such fresh avocado sliced right in front of me. Service was pretty Quick since I was one of 2 customers in the shop. I was really hesitant to come to this location when I was in the area due to the reviews and stars. I'm glad I came anyway. The customer service from the two workers was top notch. They made sure no detail was left out when offering options and suggestions. Not a lot of seating inside but we were able to still fit our party of 7. This is the second time I have gone to this Submarina and they have had brown wilted wet chopped lettuce that looks like it should have been thrown out several days prior. The last time the girl instead of getting fresh lettuce suggested just sprouts so I said ok. This time I asked if there was any more lettuce that was not brown wet and wilted and she pointed down to the cabinets and said there is some down there. I pointed down and said could she get it, she growled at me and was nodding her head no and looked like she wanted to hit me and she said rudely get your hands away from the glass! I said I don't want to be rude but is there any in the back? It was 10:30 am 9/25/2024, so not much business yet, she nodded holding her breath again and threw open the back door and walked away mad and angry after talking rude with spit drops over my sandwich. I have never been treated so rudely at a business all my life! I am not a complainer but I then said keep the F------ sandwhich F B! I will never go back to that poorly run one again!!!!! Food takes forever to get over doordash at least an hour for one sandwich and don't check their expiration dates since my chips I bought through doordash expired last month. Not to mention when certain people make the sandwiches they just throw everything in the middle instead of trying to spread out certain ingredients. read more

I have never been to Submarina before. My boyfriend works in the area and is picking up sandwiches for us on the way home from work. I had a lot of questions because my diet is very restricted due to my health. I called the lake Elsinore store and spoke with Liz. She answered every question I had and went above and beyond. She went into detail of what was in the tuna and chili and made sure she was percise. She even went over every dressing and topping that was available. She was extremely kind and professional, she didn't make me feel rushed or like I was a hassle. She treated me with patience and dignity. I truly appreciate genuine people who give their jobs 110%. Will never go back!!!! They don't change their gloves between taking money and handling the phone, then your food. The guy helped make a meat sub, then touched my bread for my order. I'm don't eat meat so I found this completely gross. I paid for a sandwich that I literally walked out the door and threw away. He was also new, and didn't have a clue on what he was doing. Extremely slow service and only 2 people working at lunch time, and although there were two of them, the one lady was on the phone the whole time with what looked like inventory. Also the way they dress is not appropriate for work, but definitely not for food service work, shorts going up your rear is just wrong. No hair nets. This location had THE LAZIEST employees. They put everything away before 730 and make the place look closed to avoid employees. I asked for a meatball sandwhich and they said the hot sandwiches were closed. Whatever that means. All the while, they had meatballs in a container on the counter. Not to mention the other day I got a Pastrami at 745. Maybe it depends on the employee? Some are lazy and some arent. These two ladies 100% are. Why even say you close at 8 if you do not want to help anyone? The cali they made for my wife was also half-assed and was toasted for 4 seconds. Give me a break. Get better employees. Further, I called last Sunday for my wife's debit card that she left and the Male employee said it was there and even read off the name for me. This was my first visit to a Submarina but not the last. I enjoyed the veggie sandwich and unlike Subway, I didn't have to pay extra for the avocado. The sandwich, bread, veggies were delicious and very fresh. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was extremely clean and bright. Overall a very enjoyable lunch experience. They were able to answer my questions regarding the ingredients. I don't consume meat or dairy so they were able to show me the ingredients on the bottle of the balsamic sauce I wanted to try on my sandwich. Vegan thumbs up! I went there on a Sunday and had a good experience. I had a veggie sub, wife had a fench dip, kid had salami/cheese. Each of us enjoyed the food. The employees were nice as well. The food tasted surprisingly fresh given that we went on a Sunday. Also, I noticed joed c. (review dated 8/27/2019) stated that an employee didn't change gloves to make his veggie sandwich. I walked in as a first timer and explained to the young gentleman (overly groomed) that I was unsure of their offerings but pointed out some items that looked interesting. He suggested an East Coast sandwich and attempted to upsell me to a larger size (Kudos). The sandwich was filling and tasted good. Came here yesterday for the 1st time. My boss and i were out there on business, we are originally from OC. We were looking for something on the healthy side to eat. The two working seemed to know their stuff, and were very personal. (A young girl and guy) Helped us to the maximum, explaining just about every sandwhich. :D The prices are different and a tad bit more expensive than Subway, but they are by far way better!! Healthier choices on bread, and condiments. Even got some fresh baked chocolate cookie as a side.. mmmm... By far, they did amazing!!
