I finally got a chance to try a sub from Submarine King and I was kicking myself for waiting so long. I had heard good things about their Korean Beef sub (bulgogi) so I had to try it. It was delicious. Great flavors. Get it with the kimchi . I particularly liked the change from the norm of cold cuts and variation of that as can be purchased around town and from chain places. The cherry on top was the great customer service from what I can only assume was the owner. Great sub and excellent service. My only regret is that I didn't get another one for later. read more

I was craving sandwiches after my little adventure in ikea. Looking for a place that served sandwiches I saw this place on yelp and decided to go here! Submarine is tucked away in a tiny strip mall off of olive st. I went inside and to my delight the whole room was buzzing! The walls were nicely decorated with comic books and art while the counter itself also had some cool action figures chilling there giving the whole room quite the comic con vibe. I looked at the menu and it seemed like it was a fusion style deli sandwich place with of course the basic sandwiches you can usually get at a deli. There were a few fusions I wanted to try as were there some originals but the basic for now is what I went with to be safe. I got the Italian cold cuts with extra cheese and pepperonicini inside with a nice green tea to wash it down with. I took a bite of that Italian sub and it did not disappoint! The main star of the sandwich in my opinion were the pickles! It was so good and sour I loved it! It made such a nice crunch after every bite and to top it off the pepperoncini gave it a nice little kick too! I really liked this place and I plan on coming back for more! Comfortable place to sit with Air conditioning. The Employees are very nice and accommodating. The sandwich tasted fine, but I was shocked to see how little meat was in the sandwich. Maybe two thin slices of turkey and one strip of bacon... didn't even really taste The bacon ...had to kind of look in the sandwich and make sure it was there. Basically the sandwich was all bread and lettuce. Like I said it tasted fine with all the other veggies on it but that's a fraction of the meat that any other sandwich shop usually puts so I probably will not be coming back here. read more

now that I have Tuesday & Thursday off from work & I usually have lunch with my best friends of 46 years now, I thought we should try this sam'ich place out. without Yelp or the website, we dove in feet first. this was about 2 weeks ago. a bulgogi bowl or sam'ich was my 1st choice. I placed a phone order to try this place for myself and coworkers for lunch for the 1st time and they answered quickly, took my order, and was ready by the time I arrived to pick it up. All my coworkers said their meals were scrumptious. I have the roast beef & turkey sub and the bread was so soft and fresh and the ingredients tasted great. I also got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was the best I have ever had and my coworker agreed. We will definitely be having work lunch there again. You want spicy sauce this guys got crazy spicy and it's very very spicy. In the 7/11 shopping center on olive and victory little hidden. Got some seatings inside. Nice people owners work there so they keep everything clean and fresh and make the food fast you don't wait to long. Ordered spicy bbq chicken sandwich 10$ for of a foot long sandwich great deal. High quality ingredients and some of the best bread I've had at a sub place. My friend got the Sarducci's (added bacon), and I got the pastrami, bacon, and cheese. I liked the Sarducci a lot better, more layers of flavors. I highly recommend getting sandwiches toasted. The pastrami was good, but to me, it felt like it could have had more meat in it. The bread is good as not-toasted, but toasted really does add a texture difference. I got adventurous and went with a Thai tea smoothie. Yes, definitely yes. Not as sweet as traditional, and I'm not sure what they use as a base, but I am definitely going to get that again. 5 stars, and now I want to go back again. read more

One of the hidden gems in Burbank, family owned/run, the dad usually takes orders and always recommends something delicious. I personally don't even eat meat and I love this place (I get a giant Kiki's sub which is veggie and yummy) but my homies are obsessed with the kbbq sub (highly recommended by my friends). The owner said him and his wife are working on more vegetarian options that will come soon. They're always experimenting with different specials and listening to customer feedback. Plus, they decorate the place with the beautiful art their kids have made, and little trinkets that feel like the heart of Burbank. If u like sammies, def go to sub king. Love this hole in the wall, the decor is so cute and quirky. They have a cool way in displaying their menu with the chalkboard style. The service is really good and they are very kind. It always seems like they want the customer to have a really intentional experience. When it comes to the food. I have had the chicken bacon ranch/ Italian/ Korean/ French dip subs. All of them have been very good. My personal favorites are the Italian sub and the chicken bacon ranch. I have to say that I really enjoy the bread that they serve.
