I was able to get in later that week for an in-person detailed eye exam (because it was not a medical emergency and because of my work schedule). Thankfully all is well. Dr Gustafson is professional, a very knowledgeable expert, explains everything in a way that is easy to understand, and will explain it again if I don't understand. The technician said your glasses are for reading, I said no it's to see that's why I am here. My recent healthy eye exam recommended I se an Optometrist, there might be something else. The first thing she then said we will go ahead and do a health eye exam and that will be $49. I said I just did that and that's why I am here. my intake form had all of the symptoms I have been suffering with. There was a price sheet what I might also need. I already called to make sure they were in my insurance system. I was told yes. I have never ever walked out of a doctors appointment . I felt like I was at a car dealership and they just want to sell you the add one. I can not say anything good about this practice.

My son broke his glasses at school. The frames were shattered but the lenses were still intact. We…read morewere just there for his annual visit and bought new frames, but they were not in yet. The office said I could come by and they can try to find frames to match his lenses. They did not give up until they found frames for him! My son can't really see well without his glasses and he would have had to miss school if he couldn't get new glasses right away. They made sure that he could get new frames and went above and beyond for us. Their kindness and care for patients goes a long way.

The staff at Valley Vision Center in Geneva, IL was very appreciative of my efforts. Each phase of my visit at Valley Vision Center was professionally conducted, and well orchestrated. The staff was knowledgeable, and did I mention very warm/friendly. I felt as if I had been seen at Valley Vision Center for years. Dr. Michele Montalbano was extremely personable, inviting, approachable, intelligent, and THOROUGH. I could instantly discern that Dr. Michele Montalbano respects her staff and lead by example. She takes her time with her patients and finds time to have a teachable moment with her team in a non-judgmental manner. Dr. Michele Montalbano answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed, I actually felt like she was a longtime friend while doing her job. The young lady who helped me with my glasses purchase was very very patient in helping me get the best out of my insurance plan, she ran the numbers and checked them as many times as I needed her to. Wanted a diabetic eye exam. Was told I needed a vision exam first and then would have to come back…read morea different day for the eye exam. I did not want a regular eye exam. They said I had to do both. Gave them my vision and medical insurance cards. Dr was nice and glasses were reasonably price. Next exam was a month away. The day before they called and said that someone marked down I was self pay. Um no. Oh we need your insurance. No you have it and when I was in a photo of it was taken. Oh must be we are out of network then and I would have to pay the entire cost out of pocket as they wouldn't do the paperwork for me to get reimbursed. By this time wasn't going to argue so I just told her to cancel the appointment. She said ok and hung up. Went elsewhere with no issue at all. I went somewhere else and was able to get just a diabetic eye exam with no proof that I had a regular eye exam. They wasted my time. I have since dropped the vision insurance. Since I know now both eye exams are not required like this told me they were, I will go elsewhere.

They have the newest, state of the art, machines to test your eyes. Dr. Nguyen is very nice and is very thorough in explaining the issues I have with my eyes. She's helped me figure out my prescription that works best for me, especially as I age. I used to have to wear readers, but she adjusted my contact lenses and recommended multi-focal contact lenses that has helped me tremendously. Highly recommend coming here. The doctor recommended that I get several treatments that are not covered under insurance. Some I got, but none of them helped. Dr Yun is thorough and has the latest equipment. She does all the testing herself. There was a slight change to my Rx. Calvin was very helpful and assisted me with selecting the perfect pair of glasses. My insurance offered a great discount and I'll be stopping back for a new pair of sunglasses soon. My new glasses were ready in 8 business days. I need to have a secondary cataract removed next week and I suspect my vision will improve even more.
