I haven't been motivated to grab Subway for almost a year until I noted the new deals. They have started a small campaign that most of their footlong subs are $6.99 using the code FL699 until 6/17. So, I've been using the deal every time I order. I noticed a few things: 1) The portions have decreased. When ordering a regular footlong online, you will get the minimalist amount of toppings and meat. Ex: I got 4 slices of roast beef in a footlong and finished the whole thing. 2) When you order 50% more meat, they add 6 slices and even fold the meat, so it looks like how they used to fill it up before inflation. So, now I order it with 50% more meat for $1.50. 3) When you use the 10-30% off promo online, they only take off from the original price of the sandwich and not with the added $1.50. With the $6.99 promo + $1.50 + tax, I paid $9.14 for a footlong BMT. 4) I feel like the meatballs have gotten so much smaller. The portions in general are downsized. So, I feel like we're paying the right amount after the discounts. I know that if I walked in and had my sandwich made in front of me, I could ask for way more veggies, but I find it convenient to order ahead and pickup. They always have it ready within 5 min of ordering it. The bread is always cooked perfectly and the never soggy. But I do wish they would try to add MORE veggies when I request it. It always seemed skimpy when I open and inspect. I can probably specify it in the notes. The 1st time I ordered, I felt like the staff didn't read it bc I specified not toasted on my sandwiches. But after ordering it again 3x, they've gotten it all down. Every time I pull up to pickup, it's never busy, but the staff are always friendly and keep the place really clean. He also went out of his way to try and convince my 9 year old son to try spinach on his sandwich. My son never gets veggies but he told him about a superhero story and my son actually agreed to add spinach. Not even I could have done that!!! Great food, service and always clean. I normally wouldn't leave a review for a subway, BUT: My husband and I stopped by to grab a sandwich. We expected normal subway customer service - not bad, but nothing special. I was blown away by the kindness and exemplary service by one of the employees without us even asking. We ordered a footlong to split, as usual. He wrapped each individual side for us (a first for us!), then proceeded to give us a coupon and told us they'd honor it even after the expiration date. I'm thankful that they are everywhere and can spot a good and fast meal anywhere I travel to. While Subway is a great alternative to McDonald's, Burger King, and other restaurants in fast food nation, there is an opportunity to do good for yourself to start eating healthy and keep that habit for years to come. While there are sub choices that can be otherwise unhealthy as well, you can rest assured that it is usually healthier than those in the fast food nation of restaurants, assuming you know what's portion control and what you put on your sandwich. On this trip to Albuquerque, NM, I found this location right across the street from my hotel and called it dinner on a casual and crisp Thursday night in late October 2016. The experience here at this Subway and any Subway is always uneventful and definitely something familiar to me. Just a sandwich, cookies, and a large soft drink. A great meal deal for a good price and you're all set to meet the challenges of the night ahead or the next morning. Subway has always been there for me, especially when you need that reminder to eat healthier and when you're just wanting to drop a few lbs, but feel lazy to prep your own meals. Subway is the great choice for having that method of healthy choices when you don't have the time or energy to make it yourself. Since this subway is in a shopping mall, the parking situation is very plentiful and you can have your pick of anywhere you can find parking. This Subway outlet is not really in the center of the mall, but in the far corner of the mall complex itself. I had to walk around the perimeter of the mall to find it. My visit here at this particular Subway restaurant was twice fold. I visited this Subway restaurant for the first time to pick up dinner, but returned an hour later to buy extra sides and an extra drink, just because I was thirsty and didn't want to find the nearest supermarket. Since Subway had the cool drink dispenser, I knew what i wanted, so it was cool to come back in the course of an hour to get what I needed. For this visit, parts A and B, I ended up getting a footlong tuna sub sandwich with bacon. That's usually the thing to do while on vacation. The bacon wasn't crispy like many diners and restaurants do, but it made the sub sandwich pretty good and sparkled with some pep. I added some slice cheddar cheese with it, along with all of the vegetables and pepper and oregano. I ended up getting a few cookies and a large drink the first time, but ended up returning to grab a bag of chips and another large drink (different soda choice). I think the first drink was the unsweetened tea and the second one was Dr Pepper, which is one of my favorites. Yeah, only on vacation. :) I ended up eating 3/4 of everything and saved the cookies and chips for breakfast and road trip food for the next morning's drive down to White Sands National Monument. The service here was good, as subway sandwich artists are. They're usually teenagers and young professionals trying to make it. Been here a few times cause I get discounts with pocket points. Twice so far it hasn't been bad cause I get the same thing every time. Recently tho it hasn't been the same. My boyfriend went in and the tomato the lady tried to put on his sandwich was moldy, he had to ask her to take it off. Then we went in together next time and the guy in front of us was ordering and the meat they were putting on his sandwich was almost black, it was so dark and old. They gave him a new one. Then when I ordered I got the new garlic bread spicy Italian, thought I would try it cause I always get the spicy Italian. First of all it's not Gaelic bread, they put garlic butter on the sandwich, and a shit load of it, seriously like an ice cream scoop full. It made the sandwich soggy, gross, and almost inedible. Not the biggest subway fan, but when in a bind the cookies make up for it. How are going work in public health 4 years so bleh and the way their food is out all day is of concern but this place seems to be pretty clean. Not all Subway's are the same. My job requires me to be all over the greater Albuquerque area all day and I have lunch at Subways a lot so I would know. This location is one of 3 in town that is exemplary. The bread is always perfectly baked! Much better than most. The staff takes care to put my sandwich together evenly - many don't. They are also friendlier than most. The place is always impeccably clean - even the bathroom. These are small things but they add up and are important to me. I use this Subway whenever I'm on the East side. Even if I have to go a bit out of my way. Awesome job guys! Thanks! read more
