The Duke Steak with Chile on the side
    Genieen G.

It was our first time visiting this restaurant. We had heard a lot of raves and good reviews of this place... so maybe I went in setting myself up for disappointment... We went in a little after noon and had the place to ourselves for the most part. There were a few people in and out as we were there. The woman behind the counter was great! She took time to offer suggestions from the menu. I ordered the duke steak and my husband had the pizza steak. I wasn't too impressed with mine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ maybe I set too many high expectations in my head for it. My husbands pizza steak was a nice tasty take on the sandwich and the sauce that was on there was delicious. The fries probably were the best part for me. Very thick, tender, and a good spice on them

My sandwich with bell peppers, mushrooms fried onions and pepper jack. Great French fries, way better than traditional steak fries.

I lived in central New Jersey for 60+ years and practically lived on Philly cheesesteaks! Coming to New Mexico, an authentic version has been hard to find. Spinn's is OK but I always need to order a "deconstructed" sandwich because their version is very oily. If you don't order it that way, it makes the bread so soggy it's really hard to eat it before the bread falls apart. There's a nationwide chain at a number of shopping malls called Charlie's and their offering is a little skimpy when it comes to the filling on the bread. Our real estate agent gave us a couple of restaurant cards and one of the places that accepts them is called Philly Cheesesteaks on Juan Tabo. We took the drive from all the way on the west side of Albuquerque just to check it out. And, we were definitely not disappointed. For one thing, the ability to customize your sandwich is unlimited. You can select your meat, your veggies, your cheese, and your condiments, etc., and there's a plethora of sides that you can choose to go with your sandwich. I love the name, "crabby fries," which actually means that the fries are dusted with old bay seafood seasoning. Very nice touch. Their onion rings are actually made with real onions. The crunch is perfect. In our opinion, the best characteristic of their sandwiches is the ratio of meat/filling to the fantastic rolls they provide. My wife is not a huge fan of sandwiches because she feels like you're filling up on bread. That was not the case here. The bread was the perfect texture and amount for the sandwich. The food and service are perfect. The ambiance reminds me of a Johnny Rockets without the lunch counter or the juke box! The walls are lined with Philadelphia chotchkies, like a framed quote from the fictional icon, Rocky Balboa. So, if you're in the mood for an authentic Philly cheesesteak, made to order, at what is a reasonable price, then drive on over to Juan Tabo and enjoy a slice of Philadelphia in Albuquerque.

I live rightt down the street from this place. Always last but I n finally came in. Glad I did! Clean environment, easy to navigate menu. I got the 6in Duke (New to New Mexico but fell in love with green Chile) very flavorful and that's what matters the most when it comes to Philly steaks (the quality of the meat and the seasoning) loved it I also got the crabby fries I liked them but it was too much seasoning for me (Old bay) But still not bad. Stop by And grab a bite. All this for under 20 buckss

SO YUMMY! The owner miss Stephanie is so very kind, keeping the environment lively, clean and happy. My partner and I both had The Duke Philly cheesesteak and it was beyond delicious! The onion rings were super crispy and every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh. The service was quick and we were checked on promptly, truly the best experience. All the staff were happy and enjoying their time working together, overall a fantastic environment & delicious food. Cannot wait to come back & recommend to absolutely everyone

Saving the other half for another meal. Supper yummy.

Delicious Philly cheesesteak (got mine with steak, extra provolone cheese, mushrooms, peppers & onions). Haven't had a really good cheesesteak in years. Will most definitely be a return customer.

So, I was feeling like a sandwich and decided to try this little place in the Heights. Lots of parking, SUPER clean, welcoming, small but with good seating for pairs (inside and out) and great tunes playing (an eclectic and upbeat playlist - I liked every song during my visit, but several were new to me). An impressive menu (I've put up two shots of the menu board so as to help with any reflection issues) and just the nicest folks working. You know - immediately attentive and friendly, but then leaving you alone while you enjoy your food . . . asking to make sure everything's okay, but giving you your space. But you're here for the food, right? Well, it's quite reasonably priced and generously portioned. My hot pastrami was the California sort (not the fatty NYC sort of my childhood) and it came fairly loaded with juicy meat and just the perfect amount of the dressing I'd requested as well as an ideal amount of cheese. On an ethereally soft, fresh roll - ah, this today was the best sandwich roll I've had so far this year. Just a masterpiece. The sandwich (served with a bag of chips) was delicious and the price of the cold soda (a buck?!) was kind of amazing these days. They had really good looking brownies on the counter for $2, but I resisted. Kinda regretting that now that I'm back home remembering them. Ah well, I'll have to return soon!

I've been going here for almost 40 years - not sure what it's going to take to get it through my…read morehead that Tully's just isn't to my taste. Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

For the record, I'm talking about a true handheld breakfast burrito--not one served on a plate and smothered in red, green, or Christmas chile. Hello Deli in Albuquerque's Journal Center is one of the homegrown New Mexico spots I happily recommend when the craving for a handheld breakfast burrito hits. My go-to order is the "Pronto" with sausage and green chile. Just tell the kitchen that's what you want, and they'll take care of the rest. Wrapped in foil and perfectly sized (and priced) for a good breakfast on the go, the Pronto delivers a well-balanced combination of eggs, cheese, potatoes, sausage, and New Mexico green chile. As you peel back the foil, you're greeted with warm, satisfying goodness in every bite. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, the Pronto is reliably delicious and remains my go-to handheld breakfast burrito in Albuquerque.

This restaurant has maintained a high level of service, cleanliness and food quality. This morning we met our kids for breakfast here as it was closest to a central location for all. We arrived as they were opening their doors, and we followed the early queue in, were rapidly seated. Drinks were served quickly and refilled often. My wife and I split an Ol' Traditional with hash browns, bacon and pancakes for the bread. Our son had the same except with sausage and white toast. Our daughter had the Huevos Rancheros with papitas and Christmas chile. One thing that sets Hello Deli apart is their egg preparation. Most restaurants in NM fix over easy eggs with the whites fully cooked. Hello Deli follows what we find in most other places. The whites are just a bit runny. If you don't like that, be sure to order over medium. The hash browns weren't very brown, but were tasty. Next time I need to remember to order them crispy. The bacon was ok and the pancakes were very tasty but a bit doughy. Maybe being as early as we were, the griddle hadn't fully heated to the proper temperature. I know we've had better in the past. Our daughter raved about the red Chile sauce. Overall the food was good and the service was fantastic.
