Subway has quietly tapped into some genuinely great people. This is the second time I've noticed it. On this visit, I asked for something that technically doesn't exist on the menu. A Denver omelette wrap. No attitude, no pushback, no eye-rolling. Mena paused, thought it through, and made it happen. It was a great breakfast wrap, generous, satisfying, Vacaro-size. What struck me wasn't just the food, but the spirit behind it. There was a willingness to adapt, to solve the problem instead of hiding behind the menu. That flexibility is rare, and it shows. I appreciate that about Subway. Every time I walk in, there's something new or unexpected pulling my attention. It feels responsive rather than rigid. Zooming out, I wish more of the restaurant business worked this way. Adaptation isn't just good service, it's survival. I recently ordered a 10-inch turkey sandwich from this Subway location, and I was very disappointed. The sandwich only had about seven small slices of turkey, which did not feel worth the price. The bread was not fresh, and the overall quality was poor. What made the experience worse was the service. The employee preparing my sandwich appeared to be taking a personal phone call while making my order and had a very unprofessional and unfriendly attitude. Like many Subways, this one has no public restroom, so I walked over to Taco Bell and ate there.

We get a sheet of coupons every month. I entered this Subway holding a $7.99 coupon for a footlong. I requested a "Spicy Italian" footlong. I wasn't sure when I should scan the coupon (before or after) at the register, so I asked. He told me that the "system" was broken. For clarification, I asked if the scanner was working (as I had noticed the scanner's lights were on.) He said it was not working and he couldn't accept the coupon. He then began hitting keys on the cash register causing about four receipts/no sales to print. Eventually he scanned the coupon using the scanner next to me and the coupon seemed to be accepted. (This, after telling me that it wasn't working.) All the while he was telling me, at least 5 times, that I should have told him about the coupon BEFORE ordering. He seemed to be blaming the owner for not accepting coupons and then me for bringing a coupon. This was never an issue with prior management/ownership. When I got home, I discovered that there wasn't any mayo or mustard on the sandwich. It was a tad dry. Experienced workers always ask/remind customers such as, "Do you want mayo?" I adore this Subway, people nag and criticize the most out of everything, minimum wage is NOT livable wage and some don't understand that. The entitlement is insane! My kids have fun in this establishment whenever we go, the employees are so nice to talk to and I cannot get over the fact that they try their best! The girls there are young adults and sometimes things happen. The opening time has changed and sometimes they can't get things in order before a customer goes in, but they do try and inform customers that they are not ready YET! They give estimated times and work as fast as they can, I have gone in when they were barely setting up at around 9:35AM but I saw the worker cleaning and making sure her work station is in good condition so rude customers don't critique over dirty items! She stated that it would take a little and I accepted that fact so I walked out and came in when the lights were on, the girl made my order and asked me about my morning AND apologized but thanked me for staying in a funny matter! I cannot stand ignorant people for thinking workers are robots and not humans, I give it to them to not bend their backs for customers that won't give them proper time! Gosh, people act as if they don't have bad days at all! What is wrong with people? And these reviews are not doing great employees justice! With all that, there is a bad side, no tipping for card? I won't come back here again. The same two ladies are always working and I've had nothing but horrible experiences with them. Always been rude and unpleasant to the point of me going out of my way to other locations or simply a different restaurant just to avoid them. Today I came back after ordering because I ordered extra cheese, and to my mistake the cheese was actually there. I wanted to apologize because I did feel silly, and take back my sandwhich to eat it - but the employee then grabbed my sandwich and threw it away in anger. I responded saying I was going to take it and eat it- I don't know why she did that. Was very uncomfortable. She then proceeds to remake my sandwich, complaining about me, throwing in a comment that I "always have an issue". She condescendingly showed me each ingredient she added to the sandwich making a fiasco of the situation. I work across the street and have subway for lunch weekly, sometimes multiple times a week. Today august 31st at 1:00PM I went to this location to pick up my order that I placed through the app. When I came in the man working said he didn't get the ticket and I did not do an online order. I proceeded to show him the app and proof of payment along with all the details of my order. He looked and said that's the right address but I will not make your sandwich. I was embarrassed as there were other patrons around so I continued to ask him what I need to do so I can have my sandwich. He actually WALKED away and started to make a sandwich for another customer. I stood at the register and asked for a manager and he said I am the manager and then ignored me again. After continuing to make me stand in front of him asking what I need to do to show additional proof he finally goes what WAS IT?! Then he threw it together and I had to leave with 5 customers watching me. It was the most terrible experience and so embarrassing I will never go here again and I have been coming for years. Friday evening 06/12/2020 I used the Subway APP to order to sandwiches. I normally patronize the Subway on Golden Lantern in the Marina Hills area. The location on this app was this Golden Lantern address so I clicked on that address to start ordering my meals. I included my credit card thinking it was required to process my order. I get to the location and they did not have my order ready. I looked at my order on my cellphone and it said 30012 Crown Valley. The Golden Lantern restaurant tried calling this location three times and they never answered! It was about 7:00pm so after I paid for my order I went to my car and called this location. A man with a heavy accent said your meal is ready but I told him there was a mistake caused by Subway's app. I asked for him to cancel the order/charge and he replied he cannot cancel the order or charge. He indicated he did not know how to cancel the charge. The clerk at the Golden Lantern location said to cancel the order is easy! I then tried calling Subway and they only have a Internet based customer service line! Watch out folks. This Subway sounds like a shady business. I highly recommend you patronize the Subway location on Golden Lantern in the Albertson's shopping center. I contacted my credit card company to file a dispute for $12.08. read more

On multiple occasions now I have gone into this subway at 830am to get the breakfast sandwich I love for my wife and I. It is listed online and in the restaurant that they open at 8am so I figured giving the 30 minute buffer time before I go in should be good. Every time I have been told the food isn't ready yet and they can't serve me. Today I walked in and the girl said while pointing at the condiments "as you can see I'm not even close to being set up" so I asked what time they open she said "830-9am" I then said it was 830am currently and why they advertise they open at 9, to which she replied "sorry can't help you". I don't understand why you would advertise an opening time at a business that serves food then turn customers away that come in after opening to get food. FOOD POISONING!!! Came in around 9AM on 7/21, ordered an egg-white sandwich. All the food looked very tired for being this early, as if it had been out since the day before. The employee assisting me was wearing gloves, but was touching everything including register and cash with the same gloves with which he prepared my food (didn't change them). The whole scene made me uncomfortable, but I didn't anticipate actually getting sick. Beginning the next afternoon, it was apparent I had food poisoning and the usual symptoms ensued... highly unpleasant. It's been 10 days and I'm still dealing with residual issues. I didn't think to look up reviews before going to a Subway, especially in an area usually typified by high standards, but in going on to post a review I see this type of event could have been anticipated given the array of prior dismal reviews denoting similar observations and concerns. There is always only one person working, they go so ridiculously slow it's not even funny. Whenever there's a line, it takes 15-20 minutes to make 5 sandwiches. Cesar is an extremely hard worker, even in these trying times. I have been coming to this subway for years on my lunch break since my work is around the corner. He will whip up sandwiches for 10 people as fast as he can at the lunch time rush. My comment is for management: In the past I have noticed 2 people working and helping each other , especially when a huge lunch rush comes. Unfortunately I have noticed recently that there has only been one worker at a time working. I feel like this subway overworks and takes advantage of its employees. Along with the other 1 star reviews for this restaurant (because 0 stars isn't an option) I have to agree this is the worst Subway store I have ever been to. My visit was on February 5th. Upon entering there was a strange odor. Not the usual smell of bread. It was hard to describe but it wasn't pleasant. I ordered a Roast Beef sandwich to go that was prepared by "naghmeh". Once I arrived back home and took my first bite I felt what seemed like a thread in my mouth. I assumed it was just a piece of the beef that had some fat or something that was a little hard to get through. Turns out it was a long black hair. Probably 7-8 inches long exactly matching the hair of the person making the sandwich. I have brown hair that is much shorter so not mine. Needless to say I was nauseated and literally felt sick for at least the next 24 hours. I attempted to contact the owner of the store via the tellsubway comment URL but never received a response. A week passes so I decide to attempt to contact them again this time through a different URL on the Subway website. The wheels finally began to turn upon my second attempt and they tried to tell me I wasn't contacted because they didn't have my contact information. You can't even send the form until every field is filled in so nice try. Apparently, upon speaking with a couple of people that finally did return my inquiry, I never will hear from the manager. The best they told me they could do was to have me return to the same store, speak with somebody there and have them make me another sandwich. Fabulous customer service with this company. I guess I should have grabbed my phone and taken a video of myself pulling the hair out of my mouth and sent it to them. Maybe then I'd get a bag of chips to go with my hair filled sandwich. This particular location and more importantly the corporate offices are a joke. Zero customer service and a total lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. BOYCOTT THIS SUBWAY I usually don't rate these kind of franchises but this one had to be done! This is the WORST Subway I have ever been too. They are rude and totally give you less then any other Subway. They never give you full meat - they guy but a lot of meat on and then started picking at it to put a bunch of meat back. Oh, and they are so cheap on the vegetables! THE CHEAPEST THING! I asked for more onions and lettuce - SHE CHARGED ME EXTRA! Is that even allowed at Subway franchises? On another occasion he only put 1 squirt of sauce and I asked the guy "Oh can I get a little more?" He ignored me and wrapped up the sandwich! Okay, this subway totally deserves more credit than it's getting. I am not a subway fanatic and I certainly do not visit every subway in the OC area and compare them, but hey- this one is alright! Contrary to other reviews, I've had really pleasant experiences here, especially with Bill, the manager. He seems to care greatly about his employees and the patrons who visit the shop. Do you see that at other subways? Do you see that at any other franchises? No. I have not. I feel good about eating at this particular subway precisely for this reason.
