The cheese slices have become so thin you can almost see through them. On my last visit the roll was a bit stale. friendly staff

And though I can't guarantee that the town was so vibrantly and unapologetically queer nearly 30 years ago when our paths diverged, I can say that in 2025 it was completely my vibe. Though lesbianest - it def was. After Dinosaur Footprints, my trio needed to grab some lunch. They spoke highly of Local Bar and what a delicious choice it was. They have a nice lineup of preconfigured burgers - the teriyaki seems to be a local favorite - or you can build your own. The best is that you can have a beef, turkey, or veggie burger with any style. Unfamiliar meat sometimes sends me running to the baño and I still had a 3 hr drive up to NH. So I opted for the Farmhouse style burger with a veggie patty. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, and our house maple mayo. I told you maple is my fave flavor. Excellent decision - the server even complimented my choice lol. The veggie patty was homemade with mushrooms and other grains - texture was elite and the umami was palpable throughout. It also didn't fall apart in my hands as other veggie patties are prone to do. I also got an order of fries but this is completely a place where you could get a burger and skip the sides and be satisfied. My dining companions were more in the know in this area so we shared the fries. Free refills too which thrilled me to no end as I strongly dislike nickel and diming on drinks. Parking can be a challenge in this town - but since it's Pride Month the rainbow gods were shining on us and we found 2 spots right next to each other just around the corner from the spot. Great food, stellar service, clean dining area, central location, something for vegans and meat eaters alike. Can't go wrong with this one!

Definitely will be back. Burger was exactly what I wanted. Grabbed a beer while I waited. Tempted…read moreto try the Cap'n Crunch dog.

The fish was delightfully salted and greasy with a gorgeous lemon flavor. Knish was a nice surprise savory and tender, though could use a little more potato to fill it out and make it a meal rather than a snack. I went the carnivorous route, but was very impressed by the spread of vegan offerings. Will definitely be back.

So far just had a bagel with schmearq and kippered salmon, but can't wait to try the pastrami next time. I have gluten issues (but they use sourdough bagels from Comfort bagels - which I can digest just fine!), and they also have gluten free Linzer tortes, which I had to try and I was not disappointed! The rest of my party shared a big black and white cookie (see picture), and maybe most important of all, their coffee was universally liked by all of us, which I don't think has ever happened before. It is an open, airy and bright floor plan - great for a long conversation. And they play great music as well. Cool vibes, as the kids say. It's hard to give up some of our business with Jake's, but Lichter & Levin is immediately very high on my list for brunch, or maybe even linner!! Check them out - even you shiksas and goys!
