Subway has gotten a bad reputation in the last few years, but since I'm vegetarian and always avoid their questionable meats, I don't have a problem going every now and then. The employee at this particular location was awesome when we came around 11am on a Saturday. He greeted us warmly and was super friendly as he made our sandwiches. A regular came in after us and he greeted him very enthusiastically too and had his entire order memorized. Great service. If you like spice, I recommend adding jalapeños and chipotle sauce to your order. Makes for a great kick. If you can, avoid the cubed chicken and get their grilled chicken instead. read more

No problems. Came in, ordered a sandwich (Spicy Italian) and was told about the daily variety. I'll admit I didn't get a drink, the staff was okay. No language problems. Maybe New Englanders need to stop being douc**bags! Leave the snide gripe at home, come in here and get a 'wich - which I did - be kind, and quit ogling the staff. The two men who took my order were so unbelievably kind. They greeted my boyfriend and I with "good afternoon", asked us how our sandwich was while eating. When we were leaving we said thank you and he had the biggest smile on his face. He was the cutest man, he was very genuine and pleased that he made a great sandwich. This Subway has no moral compass. My family and I were on a VERY long road trip to help move me in for college and I REALLY had to use the bathroom. It was no exaggeration to say that I was on the verge of literally pissing my pants and I asked politely to use the bathroom. The response of the man behind the counter was "Yes, but there is a mother and her child in there right now so you will have to wait." I agreed to wait and then he added in "But, it's really only for customers so you have to buy something." I, with no wallet in hand, went out to my mom and brought her in with me (she was angry as well), and she was forced to buy something for me to use the bathroom. A lady standing outside the door was nice enough to notify her family (inside the bathroom) that it was a borderline emergency and they came out immediately. However, it is ABSOLUTEY DISGUSTING that I was almost forced to find another option when I was about to piss my pants. Anyone who has EVER had to pee that badly knows it's hell to wait. In addition, the man agreed and then REVOKED his permission which is greedy, disgusting, and it is just an effing bathroom. I went to have a quick bite with my husband last night and while we sat to eat, a man with no money walked in. The owner immediately walked over to him, greeted him with utmost respect, made him a footlong sandwich and meal, free of charge, and treated him in a way that made us both tear up and realize there are good people in this world who have a heart of gold. The owner is a couple who treats their customers like friends and family, but this action made me respect them 100 times more. God bless you. Showed up at 6PM on a Friday night. They were out of the bread we wanted. The doors were filthy and the service was super unfriendly. We had a difficult time understanding him, he mumbled, and was almost rude. I asked about the Subway rewards program and an employee told me they don't do that here. Won't return to this location. This was horrible. The worse experience at this subway. My wife ordered a sandwich and specifically ordered spicy Italian with oil and vinegar and the lady put mayo. Dont go here. The manager does not except Subway coupons. If you try and talk to her she will yell at you. This Subway has no intrest in taking care of the customer, or keeping a customer. I have found the bread to be stale, and the meat to he old. Asking for a extra piece of cheese isnt going to happen, very tight on the ingredients. No one speaks english. And the place is a mess. stopped in for dinner at 5:15pm and found them to be out of different styles of breads at dinner time which is absolutely ridiculous. they are a sandwich shop and are too cheap to have left over grinder rolls for the next day so they only want to bake what they sell. They are very cheap on the amount of veggies on the sandwich and barely put any shredded cheese on the sandwich. When I asked for a few extra veggies or cheese...they told me it will be extra! Every time we go for dinner they are out of bread. Tonight we could only get white. And what we got was dry. Definitely not fresh. Find a different subway. The ones in Saybrook aren't worth it. read more
