Had two very disappointing sandwiches today at this subway. They've recently changed owners and I thought small town xenophobia was driving the poor reviews. Depending on your view, it's either a good sign or a bad sign that the problem with this subway appears to be based in reality. Paid $11.29 for the store to skimp on the tuna which tasted old, cucumbers that are heading towards translucent in spots like they had been frozen and thawed out, and the tomatoes had a hard core/rind which had not been cut out. My partner reached out to the owner before we posted this review. The owner's response was to try to gaslight us saying there were 4 scoops of tuna and that the clearly uncored tomatoes are cored... but they could remake the sandwich for $7.99... I don't really care to give this location another $8 to see if they can serve substandard food again. You're better off going across the street to get a made to order sandwich at Lira's and they've got really good potato salad too in the deli. read more

Stopped in here one evening while doing laundry probably on a Sunday evening when we walked in the door about 830. The location was already being cleaned up for the night. So I want to say they're dining area closes at eight but you're still able to place an order for your sandwiches after that so they close roughly around 8:30 PM Who were the only two customers in there so we were assisted fairly quickly with our orders to go. Associate assisting us was polite and soft-spoken. And patient with us even though it was close to closing time for walking in last minute. With most subways, usually a pretty decent place to stop in and get something to eat. A small location inside as well. But a clean little set up. read more

This store was recently reopened by new owners. At first everything was very good, but lately the quality seems to have dropped. The last sandwich I bought was to go and the bread was stale which kind of ruined the whole sandwich for me. They are very light with the toppings if you aren't there watching them make it. The girl says you have to order via the app, well we go into the app and attempt to order, come to find out they are not a participating store. My Door Dash order was not correct. Items were omitted, and I was told that I would not get a refund and that my only option was to go to the restaurant to pick up my order. It was dark, I'm 65 years old and have difficulty driving at night, so that was not an option for me. I did not receive any compensation for the order. I have supported this business since it opened. During the pandemic they were very service oriented and tried earnestly to satisfy the customer. However, it's almost like they are under new management. When I was in on Thursday July 1st in the afternoon the lettuce was brown, tomatoes were runny, the cucumber was translucent like they had been out of refrigeration. When I asked about new lettuce I was told that was it, so I walked out. I wasn't going to pay for a sandwich with less than fresh vegetables, why waste my money or even worse get sick!!! read more

I stopped in on a rainy day, having just moved into Rio Vista and trying out the local cuisine. There seemed to be no one there. I walked in and saw a very clean restaurant. By the time I got to the counter 2 servers appeared and were ready to get down to business. While they weren't "chatty Cathys" they were definitely professionals and the final sandwiches were better than the other 7 Subways I've been to around the Bay Area. Finally, although it appeared that the Restaurant was empty, while waiting, several people came and picked up their phoned in orders. I placed an online order for one sandwich, i went to pick it up after the scheduled time about 10 minutes after i ordered it and i was standing inside waiting for over an hour. On Nextdoor, we read a negative review and saw the response of the new owner so we decided it was best to make our own assessment. Last week at approximately 2 p.m. on a weekday we entered the store. Two ladies were working, one on the register and one making sandwiches (turns out the latter is an owner). Both were courteous and eager to help us. The store was very clean, well-stocked and had fresh signs up. We are vegan and the lady understood what that meant and was most accommodating in fulfilling our order. We split a sandwich and decided to eat at the restaurant. The tables were all clean. Our sandwich was perfect...fresh ingredients and tasty! We were at the store about 20 minutes. In that time, there were five additional walk-in customers. All were dealt with promptly and politely. A steady stream of customers at 2 p.m. Sounds like the new owners are doing fine. This staff lacks in communication, acts of service, professionalism and common sense. The young short blonde and the taller brunette man didn't wear name tags and had attitudes. They both were hiding in the back to begin with. I ordered on sandwich to be toasted. They proceeded to pull off all of the shredded cheese from my sandwich and throw it back into the cheddar cheese container because they "can't toast a sandwich with cheese on it". They had an attitude about it and were completely unsanitary. This staff needs help. Whoever is the manager needs to be trained because this is unacceptable. Neither of these staff could communicate without being disrespectful. They didn't clean up after themselves. We proceeded to eat in because it was hot and they hid in the back again leaving an elderly woman to wait 10 minutes for them to come out. I do not recommend this staff or store. read more

I try to avoid this Subway even though it is close to home. Almost every time I go they're out of something--eggs, the bread I want, avocado, spinach...you get my point. Anyhow, the whole reason I made this post is because when I went up to pay today I noticed the bathroom key (with a really long wooden handle) laying on top of the cookie container. UMMMMM, GROSS!! I get that the cookies are in a container, but that key has been in the bathroom...with a customer, who most likely didn't wash his hands (and even if he did, how many people before him didn't?). Even if that thing (wooden=porous...so it's a porous poopy wooden thing) is sparkly clean, the whole thought of it near/on a container is freaking disgusting. I pointed to it and said to the cashier, "uh, that's really gross by the way," and she just blankly stared at me and then continued chatting with her coworker like I wasn't there. Also, if your employee burns her hand on the soup while she's ladling it out, perhaps it's too hot. If it burns her hands, dontchya think it's going to burn the crap out of my mouth? I hope the owners of this one get it together soon. Also, $6.75 for a salad??? Not a bad price generally, but considering it's mostly lettuce with little meat, and virtually no regular dressing types, I found it a little pricey for a salad. Good Subway quality but their prices are much higher than regular Subway stores. A $5 Ham Sandwich is actually $5.75 at this store. At a regular company store you get a ham footlong sandwich for $5. I called them just now and apparently the reason is that my husband had it 'toasted' which, according to new laws in California, is subject to a higher charge. Normally I wouldn't give a chain restaurant such a poor review, especially one of the fast food variety but this one is a whole different story. The service here is slightly less than what is to be expected. The people that work here don't even seem to try to make it seem like they want to be there. And, even though this is an issue at every subway I've ever been to why is it so damn hard to put extra toppings? If I say I'm willing to pay extra (even though it's not a charged topping) then put some damn extra and charge me if it's so difficult. Especially if the employee is going to claim to get in trouble from their manage. Anyway, my main reason is the fact that I felt insulted by one of the workers one time I went in there. I asked for extra olives, and I tend to specify and really express that I want a ridiculous amount of olives. Now you, or any other person might not like that many but I do. Otherwise I wouldn't ask for it. This particular worker decided to tell me that it's not healthy to eat that many olives, it should be 4 a day max. What business is it of his how many olives I eat in a day? And it's not like Subway in general is healthy for you. Especially when a footlong is only $5. read more

The last few times we have been there they didn't warm the meat properly. Usually I get steak but tonight I decided to get the chicken, I put in the special requested to warm the chicken before putting on my sandwich in hopes I wouldn't be disappointed when I went to eat. Hmmmm.. After a long day of being in the kitchen the day before thanksgiving I didnt want to cook so my husband got Subway for dinner. While sitting in the car waiting for him I noticed an employee taking out the trash a few seconds later I watched her walk staright in and grab a pair of gloves, she had some trouble getting them on... She didn't wash her hands... She wore gloves but her dirty hands still touched the outside of the gloves while trying to get them on. Then her long ponytail kept falling in front of her while making my husbands sandwich. She would brush it away with her hands and then continue making my husbands sandwich... Needless to say my husband had no problem with anything but for myself NOPE NO AND NO. I'll never eat here after that. Nope. Its one thing to not wash your hands but to touch your hair come on. The ciabatta steak sandwich w provolone was fantastic. Grilled chicken sub was also very good. Can't wait to try all the others. This is another good place to eat lunch before kiteboarding - free drink refills to hydro up (etc ). Pretty standard for Subway. I would get a six inch combo before kiteboarding - best not too get too full before hitting the water. The wind usually picks up around 4 in the summer here. By the way, RV is the best place to hang out in the summer if you are a wind junkie. read more

Hubby and I eat hear every so often, the sandwiches are great! no complaints on the food. The parking area is a bit to small and during most days its hard to find parking here, the traffic on Hwy 12......terrible but, its a small building in a quaint small town and We love eating the healthy 6inch subs, the rotisserie chicken is particularly delicious. All in all its great little place to stop between Fairfield and Lodi because you can take your food and go down to the river side park right by the bridge there is a picnic area a bathroom and a nice place to take a leisurely walk. read more
