I've been to several Subway locations in San Jose, and this is probably the best one so far! I placed an order online when I saw they had a BOGO deal for ordering online/app, so I figured why not. I customized my Italian BMT and Rotisserie-style chicken sandwich and it was actually really good. I got to the store a few minutes before my pick-up time and they were in the middle of making my order. I knew it would be good when I picked up my bag and it was heavy. PSA: Subway now has Hero bread!! It has little to no carbs which is great if you are looking for a quick and easy meal on the go. I always get the veggie patty and load it up with all the veggies. Purchased a PRO sandwich on two different occasions which costs an upgrade fee and both times, the sandwiches barely had enough meat to cover the sandwich. Owner sent THE EXACT SAME response both times to my complaint with a promise to inform his team of this mistake "to prevent this from happening in the future" which indicates to me that he saw a negative comment and immediately just copy pasted a response to me. Not sure if subway is running out of money or something but this is horrendous. $10 for half a cup of soup, and a sandwich with almost no veggies. I asked for chicken noodle soup and the woman working said they don't have a lot left so to order broccoli cheddar. I agreed and she gave me half a cup (maybe less?) without even telling me. I really love Subway, but I agree May C. the service was really terrible and unfriendly. Maybe, I came in at the wrong time, but the lady was just mumbling and I could barely hear her and I could not understand her English either. They were not generous with the toppings as they usually are at other places. Anyways 3 total at the restaurant and no acknowledgment. The sanwhich for the bacon, turkey avocado was not worth the price as it was 8.50 with tax. This happens to be my local Subway, so I come here every so often. By now, you're probably informed on the overall quality of Subway, so there's no need to go in depth there. Like pretty much every other chain food spot, sometimes the quality can change depending on what location you go to. Subway is no stranger to this, sometimes there are flat out bad locations. I can assure you that this location is solid. The main woman who works here is always nice, and does a great job at making the sandwiches. The restaurant itself is small, but is always clean. I definitely recommend this Subway location. My only warning is that the parking can be tricky depending on what time of day you go, because the lot itself feels pretty cramped. read more

My favorite Subways to go to! I'm actually a regular now since I always stop by on my way home from the gym. I love going here because they make the sandwiches exactly how I want them to. After reading some of the angry reviews about this Subway location, I was a bit skeptical about going here for my short lunch break, but I decided to make up my own mind, and I'm glad I did. The ladies that helped me today were very professional, courteous, and knew how to provide great service. Sure, it's not hard to make a sandwich at Subway, but it wasn't about how one of the ladies made the sandwich. It was about how she made conversation while making my sandwich. She wasn't assumptive or in a rush. She was patient and well-directed. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name or I would have written it. The store was also in very good shape. It was sparkling clean in all corners. Even the soda machine and garbage were a bit shinier than other places, which kind of shocked me because those are usually the only places that remain consistently messy, but these ladies were on it. There were only three ladies working today, and they all worked well together, eliminating a short line of 4 people within minutes before getting to me. Even though I was in a bad mood when I arrived, I had a stomach filled with a 6" Cold Cut Combo and Chicken Noodle Soup, and I left in a great mood. I came. I ate. I left happy. After 7 minutes of me waiting patiently, they finally decided to take my order: Turkey sandwich on wheat bread w/ EVERYTHING on it, EXCEPT pickles and olives. Sounds pretty simple, right? WRONG. First thing the lady put on my sandwich were the damn pickles... Ummmmm... Hello?!?!?! I said NO pickles!!!! She immediately took them out. Anyway, I started looking at their cookie selection while she continued to make my sandwich. I shouldn't have done that. Bad move, on my end. As she started to ring me up, I asked kindly, "The jalapenos and peppers are in there, right?"... She replied with a dumbfounded look, "No."... This is not a review of Subway in general but the review of this location specifically. One of, if not THE, best Subway I've been to. I come here for lunch between 11 and noon multiple times a week and usually order 2-4 sandwiches each time. Even when the place is packed the line moves extremely fast and they satisfy my order quickly and efficiently all while providing friendly customer service. In addition to the great service, the meat and vegetable toppings they provide are always above average. Too many subways out there skimp on everything but here I always feel I have more than enough. I can't speak for the other times but the staff there around noon knows what they are doing. read more

I ordered the $5(and some change) footlong meatball w/ everything on it.....my girl ordered a turkey 6 inch. they were out of white bread, but no big deal, at least not for me (another customer walked out when he found that out). Our sandwiches were both good and I'm satisfied w/ the service, but realistically....this place is tiny! This subway is in the same block as Radio Shack on the corner of Cottle and Santa Teresa Blvd. You will find parking infront or round the side. The store is on the small side, they do have a few tables if you want to dine in. Normally we just pickup rather than sit down and eat. Staff is friendly and does change their gloves after each sandwich, which is a must as I am vegetarian and don't want the carnivorous juices on my food. I still prefer Togos vs subway though, feel they make a better sandwich With their $5 footlongs, the value is good for a veggie delight. 3stars read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The subway clerk (bad acne) behind the counter took another customer behind me to complete her order while I had to wait for another clerk to provide my produce on my order. The subway clerk then looked at me to have me pay for my order I threw the bag of chips on the counter because the lady was still standing there. I have lived in the area for years. I frequent this location maybe every couple weeks. There is this one employee who I see there all the time. Younger blonde latina. She is always helpful, friendly, and really good at her job. I always see her juggling multiple tasks from training new employees to counting money at the register while serving customers efficiently. Great customer service skills and knows what she is doing. I almost never write reviews for anything, including yelp, but I thought she deserved a shout out. She deserves every raise that she gets and Subway is lucky to have her. read more

I am absolutely outraged at the service I have received at the subway off of Cottle and Santa Teresa. As a person in the customer service industry I have absolutely no problem paying for extra bacon, my problem this time was that they had not only ran for the extra bacon the 1.50. The problem is lady didn't say anything and rang me up a second time for an additional 1.30 without even mentioning it to me. It's frustrating because the problem had nothing to do with the extra 1.30 for the extra two pieces of bacon my problem with the situation was fact that they said nothing to me before they did it. Then the manager ( Nayeli whose on other yelp complaints )wants to sit there and act like I'm trying to get free two pieces of bacon I don't need two free pieces of bacon. On top of that the manager didn't just handle the situation at hand she wants to ignore a customer who is just trying to give feedback. She is a blonde Hispanic woman with an attitude everytime I come in. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I am African American or she just doesn't have any customer service skills but she should work on talking to customers. Furthermore, when I wanted to get the general managers information she wasn't very forth coming on to contact. It is very unfortunate because I have been coming to this location for over ten years and won't be coming back. Also little does she know that my family comes here at least once a week as well and they won't be coming back either. Just terrible . read more
