I decided to try the Tropical Trio ($5.75) which had kumquat, pineapple and strawberry in it. My hubby ordered the coconut smoothie ($6.00). There was one employee working and I asked her if she could make the drinks a little less sweet. She said she would. We looked for a place to sit and wait for our drinks. There is a large seating area inside. Our drinks were ready in 5 minutes. Both were good. They were very refreshing and hit the spot. I'm happy to know that there is a good tea shop in this area. I'll be back again.

I didn't draw a line. I didn't just write "0." I wrote the actual word ZERO. Later I noticed a $2 tip, about 10%, had been added to my card anyway. I called the store, and the manager confirmed that a $2 tip had been entered and refunded me. It's not about $2. I literally wrote ZERO and a tip was still added without my authorization. So basically, he solicited me for a tip, I clearly declined by writing out ZERO, and then a tip was taken anyway. I've dealt with other workers at this location and they haven't been like this. This was specifically the guy I dealt with that Thursday night. They do generally make pizzas good here. Just a warning to other customers: check your receipts and card charges afterward. Or pay cash in person!

I write to offer a general comment about the McDonald's app. I started using it more than a year…read moreago. This specific McDonald's did okay with it. But I'd estimate that the success rate is about fifty percent. What I mean is here, I placed my order about 90 seconds before pulling into the drive through line, and the person on the speaker had to get someone else, presumably a manager, who figured out the right order after I read the code number a second time, and he repeated back my name to confirm it was me. Probably half the time, maybe more, the app does what it is supposed to, but the people are confused and I have to go into the store or pull into the parking space where they bring the bag out to you after a wait. This only confirms that the issue with these innovations can be not the technology but the wetware. They no doubt have a stated Standard Operating Procedure. But in practice, the weakness is people (I include myself of course). You have to train people in the SOP, then practice it. They did better than half their peers, so that is saying something.
