Whenever I'm craving orange chicken & fried rice, I always go to Pandex. I usually get a bowl for myself but if I'm sharing with my sister, we would get an entree. I usually like ordering at the sjsu pandex because the portions are huuuge however, I also lived close to cottle so I came here during this time (2018). Orange chicken: 5/5, Very flavorful and yummy! I enjoy eating this with the fried rice or chow mein. Walnut shrimp: 3/5, This was a bit too dry but it wasn't bad. I wish it was more creamy. This is my go-to Panda Express during the workweek! I work nearby (about 1 mile away), and I come to this area often for lunch. Panda always hits the spot. And the service here is always friendly. I had barely 3-4 little pieces chicken, plenty of onions (which I had disposed) and old dried out string beans (some ends were uncut with the stems). 2nd plate: chow mein, honey walnut shrimp and string bean chicken... same problem with the string bean since it was the same batch and the honey walnut shrimps were soggy. I understand that it takes time to cook but the store wasn't even crowded. Go home. Open it up. Small portions all the way through. Panda Express triggers fond memories of college. It was one of the few options that gave good you good food, with a nice portion size. The smell of that orange chicken and fried rice brings a little nostalgia for me. They always had fresh made chicken and were never low on any of the options. Safe to say that college Panda is the gold standard that I compare all other Panda too. This Panda isn't one of my favorites. They were out of a couple of options when I stopped in for lunch. They weren't very busy and I would guess that it's possible the food isn't quite as fresh as a place that's a little more busy. I ordered the Orange chicken, fried rice and the vegetable medley. The food just wasn't as fresh made as I remembered. I accidently forgot to ask for the vegetables when I initially ordered so they gave me a pretty small container with the medley. I didn't ask because I had assumed that the meal came with two sides but I ended up getting charged about 3 bucks for what was a pretty small container of vegetables. The customer service was friendly. There usually is parking pretty close by. Compared to the best Panda I've had this location barely stacks up. read more

This isn't a rating of the food. the food was fine. but it is about the receiving of food. I had an online order. When I arrived it the entryway was complete chaos. There is one line that is for walk-ups. but there were 10-20 people standing in the hallway, trying to Social distance (or not). When a guy came out with someone's food, he goes "anyone for online order?" and EVERYONE went to him (no social distancing). I ended up last because i didn't want to get near too many people. I got there at 6:00. food was to be ready a 6:05. I watched my order get made, then put to the side. And I waited. I watched the kids drink get thrown out and a new one made. then finally at 6:30, the food came out. This is completely different than when I ordered at the beginning of the pandemic; when they were organized then, now it's just CHAOS. They need a better system for the Online Orders. Or the App needs to change so that a "check-in" system so the food can be ready when I arrive.
