    Cool & lively location!!

It was pretty fast paced during the 12pm lunch rush but the line moved really quick. The interior was what I enjoyed the most because they have couches in there! Overall a pretty cool Subway.

The employees were very fast. They were also actively cleaning during down times. Nice place to stop after running around BG.

This location, like all of the other others I have visited, clean, welcoming, and the food was delicious. I am originally from California so my go to burger is in and out. Freddy's is the only comparable restaurant/burger place. I have found here on the East Coast, the staff behind the counter was super helpful as it has been a while since I have been to a Freddy's, the inside of the restaurant was very clean and our food was cooked fresh and came out rather quickly, I would definitely recommend this if you like a good burger and custard.

Low and behold there is a Freddy's in Williamsburg, so we decided to take a little "part-of-the-day trip" to chrck it out. Upon entry, everyone working there greeted us and were super friendly. It was pretty busy in there, and i found the tables and chairs to be super close together and i felt a little claustrophobic. Maybe it was the abundance of the color red. The lady who took our order at the counter was very patient while we figured out the menu, which is mostly smash burgers in a variety of iterations, along with a variety of sides. I ordered a "single cheeseburger " with a side of shoestring fries. The cheeseburger is actually a smashburger that is practically a paper-thin "burger". It was very bland, to be honest. Their burgers, unless otherwise specified, come with pickles, mustard, and onions. The shoestring fries were awesome. Simple, not greasy. My husband got 2 Steakburger Tacos, which he said were "just okay". He also got a side of tots, which he found to be overly greasy. We couldn't leave without trying some of Freddy's Frozen custard. I had a small cone of vanilla, which if blind-taste-tested against McDonald's soft serve, i wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. Which is fine. We also got a chocolate malt shake, which was super good. Was it worth the drive? Meeeeehhh. The best things were the shoestring fries and the milkshake. Oh, they also serve Pepsi products. This is the first time that I have ever seen Pepsi Zero in a soda machine at a fast food restaurant. That was pretty cool. It's the little things. Would we go again? Unless there was a much closer location in RVA, probably not.

Not saying that this is the best place to have variety. Grill is in it's name, but the fryer gets more use here. It is nothing more than a cafeteria hall that pushes the customer through as fast as they can. Don't know what you want? Who cares, you're getting what we have ready right now and keep it moving. The fare isn't all that great. Burgers/cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets/fingers, fries, a few desserts, dipping sauces, drinks, and pickles. Yes, pickles are an item you can get here. What? Yes, of course I got a pickle. You don't pass up a pickle. After seeing the two people beside of me taking their time and literally all the burgers that were just made (like literally, they were holding up the line for one item when they already took five of the six burgers just brought out), I butted my way in and asked for the burger they had. I got the fries and the pickle. Added a drink and for one person handed over a sum that would buy me multiple meals at a traditional fast food restaurant. As far as the burger, wasn't too bad. Had a nice crisp edge to it, like someone actually knew how to use the grill for the one item the cooked on the grill. Toppings, as in lettuce, onion and what not, were fairly fresh. You had to add your own condiments, which were in packets and took some time to open as they were not all that great. What is worse here, is that the seating is fairly limited or you walk a short distance to another limited seating area. That area is at least completely covered in shade, where as if you decide to sit out front you need to position yourself in a way that the sun is not in your eyes. Oh, you also have to fight the flies. I mean, like literally fight the flies. While eating/drinking with the one hand you will need your other hand to make a fist and fight the flies. No, actually you will use it to shoo the flies, but end up looking like you are having a fit or continuingly blessing your food. Overall, not really worth the price in the least. If you can, eat before coming, and after you leave. It is really not worth it.

For the most part, it's street parking where we found a very good spot and restaurants and stores galore. Let's see how this spot turned out for us. Inside, the decor is very nice. They have a few tables inside and plenty in the outside patio. It's basically a spot that's takeout but if want to dine-in, that's totally fine. And they serve Kung Fu Tea, one of our favorite guilty pleasures that unfortunately closed near us months ago. After a few minutes, we ordered at the counter. Along with a large Strawberry Milk slush, I selected a 5 piece tender combo with a side of crinkle fries. First off, the slush was pretty good. At 50% sugar with boba pearls, it hit the sweet spot very well. It felt like old times when we used to order KFT often. But, the chicken combo itself was underwhelmimg. The food came out hot and ready, but the tenders were tough to break apart either by biting into it or with your hands if you dipped in any of their sauces. Sophia ordered a chicken sandwich and wasn't impressed, saying eating a Chick-Fil-A sandwich is better. That says a lot. I did take some home to eat for leftovers, but like earlier, could've been better. Not to put any bad press on the business, but it was disappointing. Again, it's basically a takeout spot and one for KFT admirers like us. We will come back only for that reason the next time we're around.

We were visiting from DC, which is objectively a more expensive area, and yet the price per taco was higher than individual tacos at our favorite taco chain in DC, especially for the shrimp and, especially curiously, the cauliflower. And then the portions of shrimp and cauliflower in those tacos was pretty disappointing. Also, very fried. Nachos and quesadillas seemed like a better value than tacos so, while my husband got the aforementioned tacos, I got the nachos without any added protein. Much better value - huge portion at a small price. Some odd choices though. There was an appropriate amount of cheese (beer cheese, which seemed appropriate given its location inside a beer hall) but a really small amount of other toppings (beans, corn, pico I think?) relative to the huge amount of raw jalapeño slices. The dish relies really heavily on jalapeño for flavor and freshness, and I like jalapeño, but these woud be more appropriately described as "jalapeño and cheese on chips" than nachos, IMO. If you love raw jalapeño you'll be in heaven but for those who are accustomed to jalapeños being an accent, this is A LOT. It was like the primary ingredient after chips, even above cheese. All in all, it's fine if you're in the area and want tacos or need food with your beer but is it somewhere I would go out of my way to visit? Probably not.
