This place is like a robbery. Constantly added "hidden fee" worst than the bank! They asked if you want avocado? You said yes! They charged you $3 quietly without telling you. They charged fee for party of 5 of course again without telling you! You'll find out after you finished. Came here for a late lunch on a Saturday for drinks and appetizers. Kind of an awkward time to come in because it wasn't happy hour yet so it was still the lunch menu. Ambiance: Suda is very clean and modern, pretty spacious with a lot of inside tables, bar seating, and outdoor seating. Food/drinks: I started with a Bloody Mary which was pretty good- spicy but not too spicy. In my opinion anywhere I go the bloody could use more limes/lemons so next time I'll ask for extra. After that we got a salad and avocado toast to split. Both of these appetizers were really tasty- we finished every bite of each :) The avocado toast was really flavorful with roasted tomatoes on top and the salad was fresh and had a really good dressing. Service: The service was ok here.. again it was an awkward time to come in. Our waitress didn't forget anything or mess up, but she just wasn't that friendly. We live in this community, watched this place open and do good. Through eyes and experience deeply involved in the food service industry, Mike your service has been less than par the last 3 times we have been in. The last experience says it all... today, Sunday morning. Bar tender takes our order and after 20 min... no water, no drinks as we watched him revisit - stare at order tickets and still do nothing. Then serve someone who just walked up and ordered a drink.... then did shots with the five jolly girls at his well. My wife and I like to explore local restaurants. The vibe and environment was really solid. Overall we give Suda a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Drinks were very good. I would have liked the old fashioned to have one large ice cube rather than multiple small ice cubes. Burger was solid, but average. Micro greens instead of large amounts of lettuce would up this a level in my opinion. Lobster ravioli was excellent! Highly recommend. Portion was a tad small though. Dessert was a bit of a bummer, the Neapolitan cake was dry and lacked robust flavor. But other options sounded really good. Would eat here again, just wouldn't be our first choice. read more

Suda used to be my "go to" place. But went today and the appetizers and lunch menu was super limited (especially the appetizer menu). Basic choice was over-battered greasy vegetables called "vegetarian wings", fries and chicken wings. Honestly, nothing jumped out of me (there or in the regular menu) Then there were all these stupid time constraints on items. For instance, a member of our party really wanted the blta (bacon, lettuce,tomato and avocado burger) - but for some reason they only serve that one particular burger til 3pm. I guess it's hard to fry bacon after 3? But, not to fret they had fish tacos on the happy hour menu, buttttttt.....that didn't start til 4pm (mind you it was 3:49) our waiter commented they weren't available. I miss the old menu. My go to was always kale Caesar Salad, add skirt steak. While they still have the kale Caesar with a steak option, the steak they cook now is bland and uninspiring. Also, the appetizer used to bore expansive, more options to choose from for every taste bud. It's sad because, I really used to love going to Suda. It was always a great place to bring out of town guest too. But this time, no one was jazzed about any item on the menu. At least their cocktails still offer variety read more

I have been to Suda a few times over the years and seen several changes to the menu. This year i had been here for brunch and I had the Crab Cake Benedict. Home fries were overcooked(fried) and greasy, so was the crab cake itself. I decided to give this place another try tonight. I figured i would go with their more signature dish and ordered Suda bowl. It was another disappointment. It looked nothing like the pictures (anymore). The only outstanding thing about the dish was the roasted vegetables, the rest of the dish, other than being fresh, are not memorable. The ambience of the place is nice as always though. I had to flag somebody down to get us a new frickin mug and by the time it arrived the coffee in the pot was already cold. WTF. I guess the dishwasher was malfunctioning or the person doing the dishes is not paid enough. Don't care too much about coming back here again. Can get better food and service (and cleanliness) at other joints so why come here when the prices for the meals are nothing attractive either. NOT COVID SAFE My husband and I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a few months now and we are finally feeling comfortable dining out with the covid precautions most restaurants are taking. We sat at the bar and the woman bartending (long hair, tattoos) could not seem to keep her mask on. She would lift it down or just plain not wear it the entirety of our meal. Not only that, but she would touch her mouth, face, etc and procede to make drinks. This is the third time in a row that we ordered the pasta dish. Weeks ago we had our first very good experience so a couple of weeks after that we ordered it again. That time the pasta was very greasy and it took some convincing to try it a third time. What could go wrong? Well, this time again the pasta was floating in a bowl of grease and tasteless. Some of the most perfectly fried food I've ever had; can't stop thinking about most of it. Classic hot wings on point, perfect little fried artichoke hearts with aioli, and the fluffiest, lightest, crispiest battered fish taco EVER. Nice patio atmosphere, I always wondered if the street-side patio aspect would be strange but it was actually a lovely sunset California vibe. Service was so great, professional & poised. There was a mix-up on the entree I ordered, and I wasn't even upset in the least because our server dealt with it so gracefully and had treated us with such welcoming respect to start.
