Dr. Ghosh, Dr. Monica, and Dyan are all excellent. I have been a patient of Dr. Ghosh for 30 years and have had great dental care. He is extremely ethical and conservative in his treatment plans and provide quality dental care. His priority is dental care, not exploitative and expensive procedures. He will avoid crowns, implants, root canals unless they are absolutely necessary and if he does them, they are done well. My composite fillings lasted 15-20 years and his crowns last 20+ years. Cleanings are well done and the dental hygienists are thorough. He is also up to date on whatever the latest dental technology is. read more

I would not recommend Dr. Sudip Ghosh at all. I had several tooth issues, some of them urgent, but I could never get a hold of him or get an appointment soon enough. The root canal he did has now gotten reinfected which also makes me question if he did it properly. Despite going to frequent cleanings, he failed to notice a cavity in my teeth which expanded quite a bit by the next cleaning. Even when I tried to get earlier appointments to get it examined, I was not able to do so. I can't help but think if they had looked at it in a timely manner and when I mentioned I had pain, it would have been a lot easier. I also really didn't appreciate his attitude. I have a lot of dental problems despite taking great care to clean and floss regularly, and he constantly seemed to joke about my dental issues and/or ask me repeatedly if I was flossing correctly. Some health problems are really out of your control and this is one of them, I did not need him to add to the anxiety I already had about this. read more

I have been seeing to Dr. Ghosh for MANY years and I must say, he is the most comfortable dentist I have been to. His staff always makes me laugh and they keep you entertained...a great tactic for someone who is afraid of the dental (torture) chair. I HATE listening to the drill and the suction machines, but because the staff chats with you and with each other, all the noise kind of just disappear. I don't believe that they ignore my treatments because after everything was done, they took pictures in their state-of-the-art camera and showed me what they did. They answered all my questions. In terms of treatment, Dr. Ghosh does an excellent job of planning what needs to be done. If you disagree with his treatment, just let him know and he WILL listen and understand your reasoning. So far, he's been on the dot in my treatments and I love how he always has new equipment to keep up with the new gadgets in dentistry. What I am afraid of is going to another practice. Everyone went to a different school and had different experiences, hence, the differences in opinions in treatment. I had gone to another dentist because I had moved far away and the new dentist told me that I needed to replace my fillings that Dr. Ghosh did (I didn't even have problems with them!) But because I am not a dentist I just let the professionals do the work. I allowed them to "fix" my fillings. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE! I ended up having SOOOO much dental pain. Needless to say, I sacraficed the drive and went back to Dr. Ghosh and fixed the problem the other doctor did...and guess what? NO PAIN! I was such a fool into thinking I can find another dentist like Dr. Ghosh. I have gotten to know his staff as well and they are just the nicest people. They are honest with you and there is no beating around the bush. Yes, sometimes its difficult to make appointments with Dr. Ghosh. It's because so many people want to see him! Doesn't that mean he's a great dentist? I am willing to wait for his time, seriously. IF he's so bad at doing his job, then nobody will see him and then it will be easier to make appointments, right? His appointments are sometimes booked 2 months in advaced! But he will see you ASAP for emergencies. In terms of everyone elses bad experience. Here's my opinion: everyone is different. Different oral hygeine and different stages of cavities. If he's trying to save a tooth that I have abused for so many years, I don't expect him to fix it asap. I feel that it takes time and patience. He sees many patients, so I don't think he can make EVERYONE happy, right? Thats it. I have had terrible experience with this dentist in past . I am surprised to see Dr. Ghosh is still around and doing business . First of all, I was referred by a friend who said this dentist is the best and does not take any copay and bills directly to insurance etc . My initial visit was good. I needed 2 root canals and the doctor was very much interested to do that but he asked me to wait until next January so I would get better insurance benefits etc . Okay , that was few months away and I decided to listen to him and just wait . In the mean time, my pain became unbearable one day . I asked for a visit and was seen by the doc. He told me he is going out of town for 2 weeks .. he will do the procedure after he comes back . In the mean time he gave me some numbing / painkiller kind of shots and asked me to visit his office one more time for the same shot while he was away . I thought that was unreasonable for me to wait for 2 weeks while I was in so much of pain, so I decided to see another dentist in his absence. The other dentist thought I needed to do the root canals immediately and went ahead and completed the procedure . Later I learned from this dentist that they billed the insurance but it seemed I had already used up all my insurance coverage for the year through Dr Ghosh's services. I saw Dr. Ghosh after he was back. He was quite mad at me when he learned I went to another dentist and got the root canals done. He was literally mad at me when I asked him about the services which were billed to insurance but never done for me. He said how do we think we can get away without paying copays ? I understood that he he takes the liberty of charging insurance for services not done by him .. and that's how he is able to please his patients by not taking any copay . It probably does not matter to many patients unless they hit any emergency and realize that their coverage is already used up . I also understood that is why he wanted me to delay the root canals to next year as he knew he had used up the maximum coverage for that year without any actual service though . I found that quite unethical and immediately changed the dentist . It has been few years and I am surprised he has never been caught by insurance or other patients as yet . read more

I went to see Dr Ghosh after he was recommended to me by a friend whom I trusted. I was new to Mountain View, CA, so I did not know where to go. The good thing is that everyone seems to love working at this dentistry. The nurses and dentists are all so happy, chatting and laughing with each other. The bad thing is, as a patient, you feel like you are intruding on their fun. It's not about you at all. They are chatting with each other as you lie there on the chair - no one tells you what they are doing in your mouth, and it also seems like they are not paying attention either. Once I gagged on an instrument and Dr Ghosh was cracking a joke with a visiting ex-staff, he did not even know. If he wasn't my dentist, I guess he would be a really good friend - so much fun to be with ... So this did not go down well with me. After visiting a dentist regularly all my life, this is the first time I felt insignificant and overlooked as a patient. It was just not professional. 18 months later I am with another dentist, and she claims that the work done by Dr Ghosh needs to be replaced. It did not even last 2 years. read more

Bottom line is Dr Ghosh cuts corners and cant be trusted - He's a sweet speaker but dont get fooled by that . He did some work for me which was bad - I went back to him asking its an issue to which he just was trying to make me believe there's no issue (when indeed my tooth pains bcos of the work he did which is not accurate) . Eventually I realized this guy is not an honest guy . Yes he has patients but mainly because he gives a good discount I guess - so the mantra he plays is save money now , suffer later. Basically he's a business man trying to put up a good office , talks sweet and keeps talking when he's working on multiple patients at same time . Terrible Dentist. This Dr. is more interested in canceling the appointments and/or making the patient wait than treating them. While treating the Dr and their helpers keep talking among themselves about food, festivals, holidays. marathon-race rather than focusing fully and completely on the patient. Dr. Ghosh's office is the state of the arts office. The Doctors and staffs here are very friendly. I have been a patient here for a few years now. I have seen all of the dentists here but Dr. Ghosh and Dr. Monica always make sure that I feel comfortable while they are working on my teeth. Front office always explains my insurance coverages and make sure I'm fully understand what my insurance pays and my copayments. Be careful before visiting Dr.Sudip Ghosh. He just wanted to used up your annual cap of insurance and hence he never take any co-pay. On first hand, it looks good without any co-pay but he has ways to used up all your insurance money. Then if some urgency comes up, you are ended to pay from your pocket. I am not going to put much details but PLESE be careful, because you will be treated as low level patient if you dont pay and your wait time will be 1 or more hours ... Yeah, thats correct, if get promise for anything to be done whitout you having to pay ... you are screwed. I did not know if my insurance is maxed out i cant pay with my own money to get job done. Dr. Ghosh is old and do not keep well, he is only working every other week because of his health issues. it took me more than 5 months to resolve my one tooth issue, they keep moving my appointments and made me come over and over to do clean up.
