I have been looking for a CR that lives up to its first name. Most CRs I find in the Bay Area are too heavy on the icing/sugar and too light on the cinnamon. In this case, Cinnamon is the middle name, but it should really be the first!!! This is it folks, this is what a Cinnamon Roll should be (to me, anyway). You can taste the cinnamon, it's not overburdened by sugar. The sourdough is chewy, but still soft, and I think I detect a hint of lemon in the icing. The icing is judiciously applied, meaning there is enough there to satisfy a sweet tooth, but not too much that I needed to scrape any off to taste the cinnamon. Dare I call it a Destination Cinnamon Roll? All I know is, next time my brother comes down to the Bay Area, I will be requesting said SCR! P.S. I have also tried their bread, which he has shared in the past, and that is also delicious!!! Volcano is tucked away, but is such a cute little town. My dad politely asked her to repeat herself, and she responded, "DO YOU WANT A QUART OR SCOOPS?" When we said we wanted scoops, she bluntly replied, "Then you're looking at the wrong menu. This is the menu for scoops." We were the only customers in the shop, yet we were repeatedly rushed with, "What would you like? What would you like?" I eventually had to tell her that we simply needed a moment to decide. When I ordered a junior scoop of cookies and cream in a cup, she snapped, "In a cup or a cone?!" even though I had just said "in a cup." Before I could even finish my order, she was already asking, "What else? What else can we get for you?" The entire interaction felt unnecessarily pushy and rude. The funniest part? Her attitude completely changed once she noticed my incredibly kind father had still left a tip. Suddenly, we got a smile and a "thank you." The ice cream itself was just okay, but the service was what really ruined the experience. This is a place my family and I have driven past for years on our way to our cabin, and we were excited to finally stop. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
