Cherilyn is the best! I was planning a baby shark theme party for my son's first birthday and boy was it hard. There is absolutely hardly any decorations for this theme because it is not very popular. But my son loves it so what can I do. I found Cherilyn and she hit it home with the cake and dessert table. I found this place via a LivingSocial deal. I ordered cake pops for a Tuesday lunch event. I requested that this place delivery my cakepops to me Monday night at 7. On Sunday, IAST left me a voicemail telling me that they would be by my house to delivery the cakepops that night. Now remember, I wont even need the cake pops until Tuesday afternoon. This was not ok with me because I was worried about freshness. Also, I wasn't even in town to receive the order. I dont know how the communication was twisted because I know I specifically requested delivery on Monday because I KNEW I wouldn't be home on Sunday. Anyway, she kept insisting that I requested Sunday (which I didn't) but then agreed to deliver on Monday night. I asked if I would be getting the cakepops that she made on Sunday morning (that she initially planned to delivery that night) or would i be getting freshly made ones. I was getting the old ones. This was annoying and I didn't want to serve 3 day old cakepops. I communicated this to her. She then sends me this super long email explaining that cakepops were good for 10 days and this is what starbucks does blahblahblahblah. Well I didn't want what starbucks does and I do not want old ass cakepops. So you guys....please be careful when you order from this place. You might want to ask about freshness. After MUCH attitude from IAST, what ended up happening was that she supposedly made me fresh cakepops and delivered them on Monday night. Which I initially appreciated BUT it was A HUGE AND COMPLETE FAIL because she packed the cakepops in a small gift bag UPSIDE DOWN. Most of them were crushed. I did not serve these and just threw them away. They looked horrendous. So another thing you might want to ask about is how she packs and delivers your cakepops. Good luck. read more

I bought a livingsocial deal for 2 dozen mini cupcakes. I bought the deal in early July and confirmed my date and address with her shortly after for a late August delivery date. 1. Delivery - The deal came with free delivery in Fremont, but 1.5 weeks before, she emailed me and said that she looked up my address and it was "too far" in Fremont for her to deliver. Since it was too close to my date to make any changes or find some other vendor, I ended up paying extra for delivery. I believe that if the deal is for "Free delivery to Fremont", that should have been honored. I understand Fremont covers a lot of ground but don't put that into the deal if you are not willing to go to every part of Fremont. I felt I was taken for a loop, especially so close to my event date. 2. Taste - The cupcakes were very cute and tasted good. They were decorated very nicely. The cake can be a little more moist but it was decent. Overall, I liked their cupcakes and prices. The communication was prompt (1-2 days per email exchange). I would hesitate to order again due to the last minute price adjustment, but if I was picking them up, I'd probably do that instead. read more

I tried a guava cupcake at a birthday party over the weekend and wasn't impressed at all. The cupcakes were dry and it wasn't like the cupcakes were sitting out for long either. I grabbed one right when it was taken out of the box. I was only able to eat half and if anyone knows me, I can have 2-3 cupcakes in one sitting. These weren't one of them. I did, however, like that the frosting was light and not too sweet. I bought a Living Social deal to try their cupcakes prior to the weekend. I'm hoping my batch doesn't come out dry like these were. Communication- I had okay communication with Cherilyn. 2. Timing-The timing was great and she was able to adjust her 3 day notice to 2.5 days. 3. i bought a livingsocial deal for 2 dozen cakepops and redeemed it this weekend. cakepops are not really my thing (too rich), but they're a fun/cool giveaways for parties. i ordered two dozen in two flavors -- chocolate on chocolate and red velvet. except for the being-too-rich thing (i don't blame It's a Sweet Thing for that, i know the recipe calls for lotsa butter and/or frosting to act as a binder to keep the "pop" shape), the pops were pretty good. they tasted like they were made from scratch, not that artificially-out-of-the-box taste. each pop was beautifully and individually wrapped and decorated with a cute ribbon... again, a pretty cute party favor. my only complaint was that the two flavors looked exactly alike -- white shell with multi-color sugar sprinkles. i thought they misunderstood my order and made me 2 doz red velvet, until i bit into one that was actually dark chocolate in the inside (delicious, by the way... much better than the red velvet!). i wish the chocolate on chocolate actually had a dark chocolate shell. but oh well. the folks were a breeze to work with. most of the transaction was done via email with one phone call to confirm pickup. they deliver, but i ended up picking up since they were on my way to my party. looking forward to redeeming my other voucher and trying out their cupcakes! read more

I met with Cherilyn for both my kids joined birthday party and am so glad that I did! We did a rainbow theme party so I had her do a rainbow theme dessert table and loved it! She made me two rainbow birthday cakes, chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles, mini cupcakes, big cupcakes, cake pops and chocolate covered oreos and let me say yummy! It was the biggest hit of the party...everybody loved everything, but especially the cake pops and oreo's. It was the first time I had used Its a Sweet Thing and I'm so glad that I did. The table was so cute...she provided the tablecloth, dishes the desserts were on, the printables, everything and did an amazing job. Since we had rainbow colors she did 6 different colors on the cake pops & each were different flavors, yet all perfectly delicious. I had 60-70 people and lets just say we had no desserts left because everyone was asking to take home desserts!
