Food & milkshakes were subpar, but not $60 worth for the trip. Ambiance was fine too. It wasn't a busy time of night so we figured we'd try it. The service... oh my, where to start. The host was very pleasant and the best employee here. He sat us and was very friendly. 10-15 minutes go by and nobody has come to check on us. The host came back to our table asking if anybody came to talk to us, we said no, so he took our order and passed it along. We ordered 2 specialty milkshakes (ONLY because the menu stated that the mason jar would be included with the purchase...more on that later), loaded fries, and water. The loaded fries were the first thing we got (first time we saw a waitress), and we re-asked for water. 15 minutes later we get our shakes, one that tipped completely over when a waitress brought them (this was the second waitress that came to our table), again asking for water ... how hard is it to get 2 waters?? Another 15 minutes later, no waters, so I went up to the bar to ask for waters, and was greeted with a rude bartender that acted like WATER was the worst request he's gotten all day (nobody else was even sitting at the bar). The bartender says "um sure in a bit." So I walk back to our table. Another 10 minutes later, a totally different person brings us water. 5 minutes later, the second person I asked brings water. So clearly, there is no communication whatsoever. As we're eating our food, the host from the beginning is pacing and looking so overwhelmed and frustrated. We felt so bad for him, as he seemed to be the only person trying to make it a pleasant experience for people. He was ALL OVER THE PLACE doing things for people. We finish eating and sit for another 15 minutes or so. A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON brings our check, and we ask about the mason jars that the menu states... she says "the menu doesn't say we give the mason jars anymore." A little bit later, she brings the jars and says "here you go, sorry." Uhhhhhh okay, so she must have noticed that the menu really does say that we get them. We also saw a worker hit her vape by the bar, then proceed to serve people. I vape, I get it... but professionalism... in a restaurant... come on... At this point I'm thinking, who am I supposed to be tipping right now? Nobody deserves it? Every worker in the restaurant "helped" us, and was not kind and helpful at all... aside from the host. We showed up with 18 people on a Saturday night. Everywhere in the mall had a hour or two wait. They knew we would have trouble and got us in within 20 minutes!! They were efficient and the food was Sooooo good!!!!! It was above and beyond any expectations and mine were high! Shrimp Alfredo Pasta was something special! We stopped into the Bloomington Sugar Factory last night & were very surprised to get in so quickly as the place was pretty busy. We sat at the bar & were greeted by our awesome bartender Justin who was very friendly & helpful. He gave awesome suggestions & we loved everything. Super fun atmosphere with all the parties going on & the wait staff singing Happy Birthday. The manager Cami also came over to ask how everything was, which was very nice because she seemed super busy with helping everyone else out from wait staff to bartenders & the hostess. Dirty restaurant with cold food thrown together like it's McDonald's. Definitely not worth $17 for a shake and don't pay the extra $6 for 4 onion rings. They also only serve burgers and chicken tenders apparently? Didn't receive silverware or napkins and never saw the server after our food was dropped off until it was time to pay. We had good service at the bar. The drinks were tasty. However, observing the rest of the restaurant is where the review comes in. There is a host stand but noone at it. We knew to head to the bar, otherwise would have been standing, like many others, at the stand for quite some time. Most of the staff seemed to be huddled near the end of the bar/service area waiting. Many seemed confused with what was happening. I saw food delivered to the wrong table and patrons also looking confused. Some staff (bartender) seemed great but overall, some training of the staff is needed. read more

My experience was everything I wanted it to be and more. I came here with the expectation to go all out with my family and boy did we have an amazing time! We started out with two goblets shared between three of us. We got the energy bear and the white gummi. Both were extraordinarily delicious but the white gummi was the favorite! Though not as impressive in the looks department it was a flavorful masterpiece. The energy bear was delicious as well and has caffeinated gummy bears that taste amazing. For food we ordered stuff to share. We got the mac n cheese pops, chicken tenders, fry basket, rainbow sliders, and the big cheesy burger. Holy smokes, it was great! The only thing that was not good were the fries. When they first come out they are hot and crispy but after about 2 minutes they turned rock hard, which was especially frustrating since we got charged for two baskets instead of the one we ordered. Finally, we ended this glamorous feast with the cookie monster and rocky road shakes. They took about 30 minutes to come out because they are made fresh but they were great. The rocky road was one of the best milkshakes I have ever had. Overall, you know when you come you are going to pay primo price for everything, but you are paying for the experience as well as the cost of everything. I would like to preface that this review is not a reflection of our server! She did the best with what was handed to her. But I've got to say...I was very disappointed with my experience at the Sugar Factory. I go to the Mall of America once per year when I'm in town visiting family, and the last 2 years I saw construction for the Sugar Factory. I was so excited to try it out and when I went in last week I couldn't wait to eat there! We were seated immediately and the overall aesthetic is beautiful and fun. But... it did take 15 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. And I believe the only reason why it was only 15 minutes was because I made eye contact with the bartender across the room, and I'm sure I didn't look too thrilled. Strike 1. My boyfriend and I went at around 11am, so I definitely felt like it was too early for a sugary alcoholic fish bowl drink, although I really considered it. We both ordered a milkshake- he got one of the original ones so it was average price. I wanted to get one of the extravagant milkshakes with chocolate syrup on the side and cookie and donuts on top, the cookie monster milkshake to be specific. It was priced at $20 so I was expecting a lot. Our food came out quickly, so that was nice. However the food was mediocre. People go for the experience and novelty of trying the drinks and milkshakes. Well to our disappointment, they ran out of milkshake glasses. So my $20 extravagant milkshake came out in a plastic to-go cup with half a cookie on a side plate. Strike 2. The milkshake flavor was fine, but we were robbed of the whole experience. What really ticked me off though, is that they had every intention of charging me full price for the $20 milkshake when I could've gotten a $5 one of equal taste at McDonald's. Strike 3. I came here with a friend shortly sheet it re- opened due to covid-19. We had reservations ahead of time. All the tables were distanced and all tune staff were wearing masks. My menu had dried food on it so I don't think it was cleaned recently. My friend ordered one of their huge goblet drinks, virgin. The ice is dry ice and they pour the beverage at your table and it smokes. It was cool, and delicious. I'd come back to try an alcoholic one. I went with five other friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. They sat us right away even though it was busy and we heard them tell other people that it would be an hour wait. This made a good first impression, but the food took over forty minutes to come out; it was good, but nothing special and very overpriced. Our server brought our check all together and told us we couldn't split it, but after we talked to another employee, who was very helpful, she was able to split the check up for us. This is the SUGAR Factory -- you'd assume they're prepared to have children dining there. But no, my 4 year old drank her water and lemonade out of a wine glass and there is no kid's menu (they suggested the $21 sliders as a good option instead). The fries were soggy and dripping with grease (we could tell the oil wasn't hot enough and they were pulled too soon). When we asked for new fries that weren't pulled too quickly, the new ones were exactly the same (but cold this time). The club sandwich was easily the worst thing we ordered. It was completely cold, including the bread, as if it was made earlier and kept in a refrigerator instead of being made to order. But the service: steer clear. I didn't see a single server smile while we were there and they made no effort to correct the terrible food or awful service we received. At one point, we saw our server discuss our table with her manager who then avoided us for the remainder of our visit. We'll never be returning. read more

The MOA location sucks I can't believe the horrible service I made reservations and listed that it was my birthday and they just went uh huh and walk off I showed them my I.D for my drink and mentioned it than. I went with a group of friends on Sunday, around 7:30pm. This place has been under construction for over 2 years now and it is still unfinished on the inside. There are TV's hanging out and not aligned to each other, the ceiling is missing pieces of the decorative work, the tables are uneven. The floral walls still have markers sticking out of them. On top of that the place is incredibly loud and not spacious at all. When we walked Into the gift shop after being told we would have to wait 45mins (which we expected) there were employees throwing shoes at each other. The items in the gift shop, such as the birthday supply's, looked incredibly cheap. We waited for a table and watched many empty tables open up but no one cleaning them. Eventually we had to ask what was going on and why they weren't cleaning them. We finally got seated around 8pm and waited for our server to come by. She forgot our waters and forgot that what we ordered (two shakes, alfredo and two baskets of fries). She told us one of the shakes we ordered were out of stock but we saw others around us getting them. Eventually she realized she made a mistake and she got our order mixed up. Our alfredo came out a while later, cold with no utensils, which we had to grab ourselves. We also only got one basket of fries which was also cold and stale. We never got the second basket and didn't get checked on until we called our waitress over. Meanwhile, everyone around us was quietly getting their food, although we also saw some people turning their food away. Our waitress realized she forgot our shakes and offered to take it off our bill but it was already 9:30pm and we didn't want to wait any longer. After waiting even longer we finally talked to a manger where they told us they covered our whole bill. This place has been hyped up for so long now and is an international restaurant. Prices for food aren't crazy bad and the food is absolutely terrific! I went here on a Saturday night at around 8 pm and the service was quick and we got a table right away. Staff is incredibly helpful and the energy is awesome! You can tell they enjoy their job and coworkers, which is hard to come by sometimes. We made a reservation requesting a booth. We were seated by the bartender at a table in the middle of the room right next to the kitchen door, service bar and side station. Literally, the worst table in the restaurant. When I asked to be seated at a booth like we requested he said no the other tables are for bigger parties. During our visit two of the tables I asked about sat open the whole time. 2 more were sat with parties the same size as ours. The server never brought the soda we ordered so we asked the man that brought our food. Sauces were missing, we had no silverware, we had to ask for refills.
