I took my Audi to Sugar Hill Automotive back in January of this year to have my serpentine belt replaced. I had been told by a good friend of mine that they were reputable, and did great work. Wow, was I in for a shocker. Flash forward to two weeks ago which was ten months later. The belt comes off again, and this time one of the pulleys come off, and I had never had that issue before. After having several mechanics look at the issue, they all proceed to tell me that it was a workmanship issue. I didn't say it, they did. It turns out that they put the wrong damn serpentine belt on the car, and I saw it for myself. Compared the belt that they put on with the RIGHT belt that I was supposed to get, and it was much smaller. I'm driving around for ten months with a much smaller serpentine belt. Secondly, the pulley that came off was not torqued down correctly and became loose. So all this time the engine is running with the wrong belt. So considering that it was a workmanship issue, the mechanics that I had corresponded with told me that if anything, they should just slap both parts back on, with the RIGHT part this time, free of charge to correct it. I called Sugar Hill Automotive, and the lady at the front desk was rude to me. So then I got transferred to a mechanic who worked on it, and he told me that I would have to pay for it all over again. If something wasn't fixed correctly the first time, with the WRONG part, why would I pay for it again? That honestly makes no sense to me, so I didn't even bother with them and took it elsewhere, because I had to save myself the aggravation. These incompetent people told me to pay for the mistakes that THEY made. I have not been so furious like this in a long time. Why would I pay you again for something that was supposed to be guaranteed? I would recommend Peter's Automotive in Lawrenceville. He does a far better job and his work is guaranteed at almost HALF the price. He only charged me $260 for everything, whereas Sugar Hill Automotive charged me $472. That's right. $472 for crappy quality workmanship and wrong parts! Peter's Automotive is not going to slap on the wrong part and then tell you to be on your way. I've never been compelled to review anything online, much less give it a negative review, but quite frankly this is ridiculous and I had no other choice. If only I had known that they weren't going to do it correctly the first time and then charge me AGAIN to have it done the second time, I wouldn't have even bothered. But I'd heard from friends and reviews alike that Sugar Hill Automotive were great, so I figured that they were reputable. Turns out that was very far from the case with me. Bottom line, I shouldn't have to deal with the hassle of the same issue happening months later. I'll never service my vehicle here again. Go to Peter's instead. He will take care of you, and won't rip you off. You live and you learn I guess. This place is so terrible and they can't even put the right parts on your car the first time. Such piss-poor quality work. If you're getting a bad review from me, you obviously messed up big time. This was a very potential life-threatening issue, and I'm lucky and glad it did not pan out that way. I'm so relieved that they didn't get me twice. What a sick joke. Want my $472 back.
