I got cookies here for my 30th birthday and they were a hit. I picked them up across the bridge outside of Saulsalito, so a bit of a drive from the city. The cookies were all done well and tasted good too. They were done in a timely fashion and I thought was a good price for what I received. I would go there again if I needed more individualized cookies for another party.

Hands down the best cugar cookies ever! I found her on yelp and the experience was simple, fast and easy. I also had a chance to look up her work in instgram and man, the details in her cookie decorations are WOW, just WOWZERS. The cookies were 5 star in taste 5 star in decoration and 5 star in service. She even made the cookies indiviually wrapped which is great especially right now for covid. Everything was just amazing for my God-daugther and she loved the cookies, just as much as I did. Happy 3rd bday to my little one. I'll be back for sure!

I sent Roxanne a picture of a sugar cookie I found on the internet that I loved and she was able to make them! I wanted 50 iced sugar cookies with a poppy design and boy, did she deliver! The cookies were stunning (in my mom's words, they look almost machine-made bc they're all so precisely done) AND they tasted good!! Our guests loved them so much that I ended up only getting one!

To add pizazz to a dessert table, I was on the hunt for some amazing onesie cut-out cookies for a baby shower. My friend who made me some before was too busy. My sister who bakes really well was also too busy. I turned to yelp and I was steered to the perfect person: Sugar Mama Cookies!!! *cue Angels singing, "ahhhhhhh"* Looking at Roxanne's gallery, I loved all the work she's done and really appreciated her attention to detail and how clean her work is. Then, I found the perfect cookie Roxanne made before that I wanted for this baby shower: A Chinese "cheong sam" onesie!! The cheong sam one was even more perfect because the mom-to-be is half Taiwanese and I didn't have much to represent her Asian side for the shower. Yay! I ordered 2 different cookie shapes/designs, 1.5 doz each: lavender w gray accents Chinese "cheong sam" onesies and mint green bibs with an elephant that I sent to Roxanne. They turned out so impeccable and cute!! The personalization made it even more special and it was included in the pricing. I was quoted $4.50/cookie but the price may differ for more detailed ones. Initially, the price seems expensive but these cookies are 3.5-4" tall x 3" wide, uniquely designed, and personalized w the baby's name. If you go to Whole Paycheck or other bakeries, cut-out cookies would be similarly priced without the personalization. Also, these cookies taste hella good!! The wishes for next time: The lavender was hard to see/too light. Sometimes they looked white or light gray in some lighting/pics so that was a slight downer. It wasn't so disappointing that I felt I needed my $ back, especially because my sister who also bakes a lot mentioned that lavender and gray are tough colors to get correctly with royal icing. I'll know to be a bit more descriptive next time. I sent the color sample for the correct shade but I may have needed to be more explicit about making it bolder so the color would be more obvious since the color sample I provided wasn't that bold. All communication was via email. Maybe I'm more old school, but if we were able to speak via phone, I felt our communication would've been slightly more efficient. I provided my phone number requesting to speak by phone. I still would've had to send emails (for the color matching & elephant) in addition to a phone call, but I think my main basic questions would've been answered in 1 call vs 2-3 emails over a few days. Nevertheless, details were set on time since we started our exchanges 2.5 weeks prior. Roxanne needs 2 week notice, final quantity 1 week prior. This may differ depending on your cookie detail and order size. Note: Roxanne is no longer based in SF. She's now in Kentfield, right off the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Luckily, I live 5 mins from the GG Bridge, and my event was in Oakland so crossing the GG to pick the cookies up and then taking the Richmond bridge worked out well for me. She delivers too but, picking them up wasn't too far out of my way. Would I order again? HELL YES!!! Roxanne's work is amazing, clean, and very detailed oriented. It provided a great WOW factor on my dessert table. The cookies are not overly sweet, buttery, have a nice crunch, and perfectly golden brown (other places aren't as golden, more bland, and soft). Her icing also is not overly sweet, making the cookie's buttery toastiness shine, creating a well balanced cookie. I have people who attended the shower that were impressed by the cookie designs, they are planning to contact Roxanne for orders. I'm sure once they taste them, they really won't hesitate to make an order. Thank you, Roxanne for your amazing skills and helping to make my event look impeccable with your delicious cookies!

Roxanne and her cookies are amazing! I planned a gender reveal party for my best friend that was themed "lil man or lil miss" and Roxanne did not disappoint. I sent her reference photos of how we wanted the cookies to look and they were practically identical. Roxanne was also very accommodating when I wasn't able to do the original pick up time. Everyone loved how the cookies tasted as well which is the most important part! Would highly recommend Roxanne!

I found Sugar Mama cookies by chance looking for a place that makes personalized cookies. It was for my son's first birthday and we had a llama themed party and so I wanted llama cookies! I emailed back and forth with Roxanne about what I wanted and she was very accommodating. You can tell she's VERY busy (in a good way)!! She has a great business and I'm sure she is very popular both in the city and Marin County! My llama cookies came out amazing. There was however one detail missing, but Roxanne worked with me and was more then okay reimbursing me for some of the cost. She's very sweet and very fair. The cookies were one of the most delicious cookies I've ever had and my guests all agreed! I will definitely be ordering from her again in the future and I recommend her to everyone who needs personalized party favors!

This vendor was absolutely amazing to work with! The cookies pictured were based on icons of our products our brand design team created. They made 700 total cookies, and even made custom cookie cutters so they can make them in the exact shape of the icons which added an awesome touch. I was so happy to know Sugar Mama Cookies was still in business. My first time ordering from her was in 2015 for my baby shower, which was Alice in Wonderland Themed. This time around I contacted her about 2 weeks before my sister in laws baby shower for another round of custom cookie favors and she exceeded expectation once again. The theme for the 2nd shower was Disneyland. Roxanne is so creative when it comes to her designs and the cookies taste amazing too!! Both experiences were exceptional and I'll forever order from her. I really wanted to give this place a try because of all the great reviews that sugar mama has gotten... However I guess I'll never be able to try her cookies since Roxanne just GHOSTED my emails. Yes, I understand that my order is very sudden and needed within 3 weeks. BUT at least have the decency to REPLY and let me know that you're unable to fulfill the order so you don't waste my time WAITING for you to reply. Roxanne is super unprofessional when it comes to replying back to people. Side note: she was exchanging emails with me, and telling me the prices prior. I then let her know that I was ready to order with her, and that's when I stopped getting emails. read more

Absolutely stunning cookies for our engagement party. Roxanne's precision is the best in the Bay. And SO delicious. We got shortbread with sugar work and every little detail stayed in tact until the very end. Cookies delivered on time and fresh and beautiful. These cookies are not just beautiful they taste delicious! I have definitely added Roxanne to my contact list for events where I want cookies. Her cookies are always a hit at parties they look just as I wanted them each time I ordered and they taste great each time. She is also great to work with and responds in a timely manner. The first time I ordered with her I sent in my request for lion king theme cookies and they came out great I only had one image of the cookies but they were beautiful. The second time I ordered a Mickey Mouse theme and they were large and perfect. I'm ordering again for a gender reveal and I can not wait to see the final product. Definitely recommend her for beautiful, creative and delicious cookies. read more

I'm not one for writing a lot of reviews, but I was just so pleased with everything about my experience working with Roxanne! She was very responsive and created gorgeous cookies for my virtual baby shower. I sent her two pretty complicated images of a peony and a hydrangea, and she translated them beautifully into cookie form for me. She is truly an artist. Fortunately, I got a couple of extras, so while most of them headed off in packages for my guests, my husband and I got to enjoy a couple. They were delicious! Highly recommend! read more

Communication was always clear & concise and they were able to pull this off for us with less than 30 days notice. The cookies are delicious and the colors are so vibrant. +1 for the heat sealing option, we shipped some of these to our remote offices. Roxanne and her husband are a wonderful duo. We ordered 60 custom cookies for our corporate event in San Francisco, and Sugar Mama Cookies delivered more than I was hoping for! After going back and forth constantly with ideas and questions, all of which Roxanne answered promptly and patiently, we decided to go with half screen-printed logo cookies and half hand-piped cookies with our logo. Each cookie was perfect - they were each exactly the same, and the hand-piped cookies displaying our hashtag looked as though they were typed. On top of that, they were all fresh and absolutely delicious! Many guests commented on how beautiful they were and how surprised they were that the cookie itself tasted amazing. The icing on the cake was Roxanne's husband coming to deliver the cookies by hand, even bringing them all the way up to the meeting space where our event was taking place to ensure their safe delivery. We will definitely use Sugar Mama's again for a future event! read more

Wow...We've used Roxanne for two separate work anniversaries, and her cookies are always a huge hit! We are a visual mapping company, so the first set of cookies portrayed frosted images of watercolor maps we had made. She translated everything so beautifully! Wow! I was blown away by the quality, artistry, and taste of these cookies! I reached out to Sugar Mama about a month before I needed the cookies and Roxanne responded promptly and quickly gave me a couple of options for a Vegas bachelorette that was going to be "rockabilly" themed. We went with heart tattoo cookies with the bride and grooms initials and they looked amazing. I was nervous about the shipping but the cookies arrived on time and completely in tact! Roxanne was kind enough to respond right away to my paranoid voicemail wondering where the cookies were. Shortly after that, the cookies were delivered. Our office just held a small party in celebration of our move to a larger facility and a recent round of fundraising, and we turned to Sugar Mama's to create custom sugar cookies featuring our company logo. Roxanne was quick to reply to my request for a quote and was always efficient when it came to answering my questions -- and the resulting cookies were fantastic! We ordered 60 with about 2 week's notice, and the order was fulfilled in wonderful time and shipped to arrive on the day requested. Roxanne even included several extras in the box in case any broke during shipping, but due to her careful packing, only one single cookie suffered a crack from the journey from Marin to Redwood City -- the rest survived! And of course, even though we ordered the cookies more for their aesthetic appearance than anything, the flavor and freshness was wonderful. The icing was firm enough to hold up to quite a bit of handling, but not so thick or shellac-like that the cookies were hard to bite into. The cookie portion was fresh, crisp on the edges and slightly tender to the bite -- again, not the crumbly or rock-solid sugar cookies that so often accompany this type of design. Pricing was more than fair for the quality. Needless to say, I'd highly recommend Roxanne at Sugar Mama's for custom cookies for any event. Wish I would have known about her when I was planning my wedding! read more

On short notice, I decided to host a red egg and ginger party and I wanted to give out "red eggs" as favors to my guests. So I searched for the life of me and found Sugar Mama Cookies on yelp. Flipping through her portfolio, I found her cookies to be PERFECT! I wish I threw a themed party, but all I wanted was a simple cookie...and that's where I found it. She made red egg cookies and I knew that I wanted it for my party. I immediately contacted her via e-mail and let her know what I wanted, how many, and when I needed them. I ordered 150 customized cookies for a work event. Not only were the designs perfect, but the cookies were 100% intact and DELICIOUS. I thought that with 150 cookies, a few would be broken or squished, but not a single one was damaged. Roxanne was great to work with, and she even delivered the cookies to me the day of my event. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

To note, Juniper is typically busy, but I have never waited in line for more than 10 minutes, even on weekends. They are also a sister shop of Saint Frank, so you can get some coffee while you're here as well.

I was able to coordinate with her the time, place & types of cookies we wanted to include in our DIY kits. I chose the vanilla and confetti sugar cookies. We had pumpkin, turkey, leaf & sweater blank cookies. She included some inspo, heaping amounts of frosting, sticks to do fine lines & sprinkles. Her DIY kits were definitely a hit for my event and everyone only had great reviews. I would definitely be using her again in the future.

Full disclosure I did tell her "I wasn't too picky about particulars as long as it was pretty" and "wasn't worried about things matching" when she asked to me about matching the flowers. I went wrong here, I didn't realize that not wanting to be picky meant she would throw out 100% of the things she said she would do for our cake out the window. She pointed these things out to me when she said she felt she did nothing wrong. She did ask me if it was ok to do two of the four tiers as fake (with sheet cake), which I said I didn't mind. She ended up doing only the bottom tier as cake. The design, goodness, was bonkers. Pictures say more than words, so including them here. Why she would show us her portfolio, know we liked delicate design and mauve colors... and make this colorful, childlike cake is beyond me. We expected what she called the confetti, but what she created was nothing like the confetti she showed us. For reference, top right photo is her cake we picked as a reference, bottom right the colors we said we liked, and the left is what she delivered. Our other vendors were all super concerned about the cake ruining our photos. Guests certainly made comments about it. People liked the flavor, but the cake just looked ridiculous. It looked rushed and sloppy. Given that she texted me about the decorating at 12:30pm on the wedding day for our 3pm delivery is enough evidence to me it was rushed. On our honeymoon she was anxious we didn't like the cake, and offered to "rectify", but when we reached out she refused to offer any amount of refund. I wasn't asking for the full cake to be refunded. Paying $1300 for this cake is a HUGE ripoff considering the cake was 3 tiers of Styrofoam, decorated last minute, looked nothing at all whatsoever like what we asked for... at the most, I think this was worth the $600 it would have cost to buy a plain cake from someone else. It was after all almost no decoration work and mostly a sheet cake. The cake flavors tasted good. People ate the cake. But the experience tasted disappointing.

At the first tasting, we booked Kathleen; her cakes were so delicious, full of unique flavor, and soft and fluffy. A few things throughout the process leading up to our wedding went wrong, but nothing that caused us to rethink our decision-- Kathleen canceling our first tasting the day before due to being sick, not responding to emails for several days or even a couple of weeks on more than a few occasions, canceling our second tasting the day of because she didn't order an ingredient with enough time (but she did deliver a few samples to us the next day). Because of these inconsistencies, I checked in with Kathleen 3 days before our wedding to make sure everything was on track for our wedding cake. She responded with, " Yep! Yep! Yep! Can't wait!" Going through with A Spoonful of Sugar cakes was the biggest mistake; we literally hated our wedding cake, which cost almost $1,000. The cake showed up late, after our guests had been seated for the reception. The frosting wasn't even fondant (which we paid for) and it was messy and uneven, with holes and gaps. There were leaves stuck haphazardly around the cake, and we had specifically ordered white sugar flowers to be flowing around the cake. In addition, the flavors were off, and the cake was dry. Please see photos (last few photos are our wedding cake, first photo is our "inspiration" cake that had previously been made by Kathleen). Our entire wedding was beautiful and elegant, and then there was the cake--completely opposite of everything it was supposed to be. I was so angry that I emailed Kathleen the night of our wedding. She responded that she was going through a health crisis and she apologized for the cake not meeting her usual standards. After she didn't offer one, I asked for a refund, and she gave one to us. We got a refund, but our wedding photos include the cake, and it literally makes me sad and disappointed every time I see photos with the cake.
