Wedding cake/brownies/cookies deliciousness! We ordered our wedding desserts from Sugar Mamas purely off Yelp reviews, and the Yelpers know what's up! We were very happy with everything we ordered! Wedding cake- the cake was moist and delicious. (We had chocolate cake with espresso frosting) Cheesecake brownies- As my husband puts it " Now that's a brownie" They are huge in size and the perfect consistency of a brownie- ooey gooey Chocolate chip cookies- these things were gone in a flash from our dessert bar! Huge and perfect. Crispy outside and soft delicious middle. The only negative is this place has very limited hours. We needed our cake early morning and they don't open until 10 am. We had to send someone after it just a couple hours before the wedding. Quality and taste were both wonderful and we would use their services again in a heartbeat! read more

The cupcakes are fairly good. The frosting was perfect. Not too rich or thick, and just the right amount. The raspberry lemon was amazing with delicious real raspberry filling. My only hangup with the cupcakes is that the cake part itself is heavy and more like a muffin instead of light and fluffy like I was expecting. But the flavor and taste was great! read more

This is the 2nd time I have used Sugar Mamas for my son's birthday. I love what they do and how they do it. When your guests continually ask where its from, and you hear compliments such as. I ordered 2 cakes for a company retirement party. Wanted to use a local bakery vs. Safeway for example. When I picked up the cakes the company logo was done in the wrong colors! It was a beautiful cake but incorrect! I was so embarrassed by THEIR error. The owner, Lexi, did nothing to make it right or offer a discount : ( Spent $200.00 on 2 cakes just to have them be done incorrectly was beyond disappointing. I've ordered several items from this bakery hoping that the quality will improve. I was disappointed. The cinnamon roll tasted like a dinner roll with frosting, the cupcakes have been dry with foamy frosting, the cookies are dry and taste stale. The lobby has always looked incredibly dirty and the plants have an inch of dust on them. The "fresh" coffee is cold and the provided creamer is a jug of room-temperature milk. The staff is less than friendly to boot- they openly mock previous customers of the day and stare-down anyone who stays to eat. Would not recommend. read more

Ok, I went with Sugar Mamas for my wedding cake. I liked Nancy. Everything else sucked. They are not organized. They are completely overpriced. They take years to get back to you. They are completely overpriced. They were EXTREMELY late getting my cake to my reception venue. AND THEY ARE SO STUPIDLY OVERPRICED. I would trash them all day long, but seriously, the cake was the greatest thing Ive ever put in my mouth. Every single person at my wedding came up to me and said, "Ive been to a ton of weddings and this is the best cake EVER" and it really was. It still was way overpriced, but at least it was the best cake Ive ever had. If you pick them for your wedding, prepare to hate them, but do it anyway because the cake is on point. read more

Called to be sure they could manage a 8 inch German Chocolate cake was told no problem but I wanted to come in. I arrived as was created by an annoyed owner who informed me that she was limiting orders for Saturday.. Ok so when I called why wasn't told this was a problem? The visit went down hill from there I ultimately went to Wholefoods why would I order from someone pay $55.00 and have it messed up because you don't want my business?? I am completely unfamiliar with Flagstaff, yet I needed a way to find desserts for the rehearsal dinner being held in that area. I checked on Yelp in hopes of finding a dependable business to help me out. SUGAR MAMAS more than fit the bill. Not only did they provide an array of delicious desserts, they also made one of the most delicious cakes I've ever had for another function we were attending while in the area. Many phone calls were exchanged between us before the actual event. The entire experience with Sugar Mamas was handled professionally, every detail was discussed thoroughly, the order was accurate, everything was FRESH and ready when they said it would be ready, and most importantly, everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. Almost a year ago, my fiancee and I bought a bunch of pies from Sugar Mama's for the wedding reception and I am finally getting around to writing a review...the pies: delicious. We got seven assorted pies and all were amazing; apple, peach, chocolate cream, pecan, cherry, rhubarb, and I forget. Our guests raved; my 92 year old grandmother from Germany (land of dessert!) went to town; I never got to try most of them! The service: great! We went in and ordered the pies well in advance, then picked them up the day before all boxed and ready to go. We were not forgotten, everything was correct, what more could you want? read more

The cakes are fantastic but the so-called butter preamp frosting is made with coconut oil, not butter. It rendered an entire cake inedible.

This is the place to come to if you're visiting Flagstaff and you want a treat while you stroll around Downtown's Southside. It's also the place to come to if you want a special treat for your staff, a potluck, or just a treat for yourself. Decadent and delicious baked goods! Beautifully decorated. Pretty Expensive but these are not ordinary items. Took off one star b/c the owner-baker woman has been sort of unfriendly to me on several occasions when I have gone in as a walk-in, even though she had advertised extra goodies were available for walk-in sales. We are visitors from Tucson and have lost our minds not to mention our self control at Sugar Mamas! We've tried soo many of the items I'm embarrassed to list them all: chocolate cake w/ white icing, white cake w/ Chocolate praline icing, strawberry cake w/ white icing, citrus cupcake with rosewater icing, Ginger snaps, citrus torts and everything was amazingly delicious! Usually after trying so many things at one place you'd expect to find a dud but not here! We just bought $50 worth of stuff to bring home. Eh. I really wanted to like this place but the pistachio rosewater cupcake was dry and the sugar cookie was more of an almond cookie, and less of a chewy sugar cookie. It too was dry. The blackberry cheesecake was just okay. read more

We got our cake for my daughter's graduation here and it was amazing! Not only was it absolutely gorgeous, it was so delicious. All our guests raved about it. The Sugar Mamas made a special order cake for me--lemon and vanilla with the sweetest little flowers. "Congratulations!" I was able to say in style to my graduating class of trainees! Their ginger snaps have real ginger in them, their chocolate chip cookies are fantastic. Baking at 6900ft is a challenge these wonderful ladies have mastered with style! Their salted caramel almond brownies are an excellent way to cheer up a friend. And most important, I have *finally* been reunited with my childhood favorite--cannolis!!!! So much YES here! We were on vacation in Sedona and the unseasonably hot temps sent us north to Flagstaff more often than usual. This is always a special week for us and we hike like crazy and allow ourselves many many more treats than usual, so glad Sugar Mamas could help us in this department. The first time we went, we were on a quest for peanut butter cookies and we were thrilled at the huge fresh ones in the display case. We couldn't possibly have shared, so we bought two and then saw the peanut butter brownies and purchased one of those as well. We ate the cookies soon upon our arrival back to our cabin in Oak Creek Canyon, overjoyed at the rich peanut flavor and dense chewy texture. They were perfect. We saved the brownie for later and absolutely loved it. It was chocolatey and peanutty and the texture was smooth with a hint of crisp at the edge. At this point we knew we would have to hit Sugar Mamas again before heading back to Texas. The next visit we got two more peanut butter cookies, a chocolate chip (for my husband) and a ginger (for me). I absolutely love ginger cookies but I'm a little picky, the friendly girl at the counter assured me they were wonderful and she was right. Wow! One of the best cookies I've ever had, so spicy and soft, lots of good chew, deep molasses flavor, the ideal ginger. I will says that while my husband enjoyed his chocolate chip, he said he's had others that were just as good (and that mine are better ). They are on the pricier side, but the sizes are large and the quality is high, to us they were worth every penny. read more
