First of all service is 5/5 Ambiance (during happy hour is 4.5/5) Food? It's decent, I'd say 3.5 stars and same for the cocktails. Located somewhere between the Palazzo and Venetian properties (find an interactive map around there and it will guide you there within a 5 minute walk, Sugar Cane is a fun place to wind down after the flight in to Vegas. It has an Indiana Jones like vibe to it with the long bar reminiscent of Singapore's Hotel Raffles long bar but with Art Deco checkboard floors and a dim vibe. Between 4-6pm, they offer a happy hour menu where you'll get normal prices for things. My review is on the happy hour cocktails and the happy hour food offered: 1. Oysters: 4/5 pretty decent but tiny 2. Classic Angus Sliders: 3/5. No mayo included so it was dry 3. Brussels Sprouts: 3/5 tasted pretty good but over drowned in Balsamic making it taste too sweet. Don't let the simple appearance of this restaurant fool you. This restaurant has some of the best tasting food I've had in Vegas... and trust me... I'm a foodie!!! Everything you order will taste amazing. I have recommended this place to so many people, and they do get confused at first by the "normal" appearance, but they get it once their food comes out. DRINKS: I HIGHLY recommend strawberry balsamic and spice of love. Strawberry is a little bit more on the sweeter end (but not too sweet) and the spice of love is slightly spicy. Both amazing though. This spot has been on my list for awhile, so I was glad that we were finally able to check it out. We had a brunch rsvp, but it wasn't needed on the random weekday that we went in. What we got: - Cuban Benedict: This was a little bit of a disappointment because it was pretty flavorless and plain. - Cuban Roast Pork Sandwich: Also lacked flavor, but was somehow more flavored than the Benedict - Duck & Waffles: This one was everyone's favorite I think. The duck was tender and the waffle was crispy and paired well with the duck and the egg. I do recommend ordering this one - The Full Elvis: This was good too! We came here before for brunch and it was delicious. This time, June 2024, we came as part of the Lip Smacking Food Tour. Everything was absolutely delicious! The signature drink we had was a strawberry, balsamic cocktail. It was different for sure but very tasty. The bacon wrapped date was my favorite as it totally hit the spot and the hamachi crispy rice surprised me as I don't care for raw fish--but you couldn't tell it was raw due to the crunchy texture of the rice. I could've had two servings- it was so good! We stumbled upon here during an explore day in Vegas. We opted for no wait and sitting at the bar. Our server was fantastic! I had a strawberry cocktail, shrimp cocktail and the huevos rancheros. This was our pit stop before hitting the Sphere for the, "Postcard From Earth" show. I really loved the vibe of this place, you don't feel like you're in a casino. It's feels more like a hidden trendy bar/cafe in Miami. I ordered the hollandaise mushroom omelette with egg whites and it was amazing. The truffle hollandaise mixed with the buttered mushrooms was the pairing I never knew I needed. Decadent on top of decadent! The truffle flavor was subtle and not over powering. Thanks maybe due to the egg whites instead of egg yolks? I also ordered a cold brew which was actual cold brew and not hot coffee poured over ice, delish! The service here was on point and our server made sure the water was full and coffee was replenished. I forget his name, but he had a fantastic waxed mustached and a great demeanor. The bar area had TVs and if we didn't have plans afterwards, I could have easily moved to the bar and sipped a drink while watching some college football. My sister and I came here for breakfast our first day on the strip. There were tons of options to pick from but this one opened the earliest and we are early risers so that was the deciding factor. This place was wonderful! Although coffee is not on the menu, they do have it. We had 2 lattes, the Cuban Benedict, cheese and guava pastries, mushroom Benedict. The pastries were LITERALLY the best I have ever had (and I've had a lot of pastries in my time) order them! You will not be disappointed. The Benedict's were also incredible. My second time here, the first time was so memorable I wanted to check it out again during my recent trip to Vegas. Unfortunately, the food was not comparable to my last visit and somewhat sub-par. I ordered the brunch toad in the hole (brioche, truffles, brie and egg) but my egg was undercooked, I was missing some of the truffle taste, and overall is was fairly bland. Would not order again. However, my cocktail was fantastic (purple haze) and the service was fast and efficient. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, around me good looked enticing and people seemed to enjoy it immensely. March madness, Saturday 11:30am After wandering the morning we ended up at the Venetian around lunchtime. We chose Sugarcane for the decor and the funky menu. The wait without a reservation was 45minutes, but we found seats at the bar. The crispy polenta was already sold out, but we ordered the toad in the hole, bacon wrapped dates, and breakfast platter. Salt was definitely needed for the toad in the hole, the ketchup was necessary to cut the salt on the potatoes, and the dip was perfect for the bacon wrapped dates. I've been here before but my last two visits were "unforgettable"and yes that is with bottomless mimosas included. My friends ordered the steak and eggs breakfast while I got the duck and waffle the food was magnificent but the waiter Raymond was what truly made the experience great his service was top notch constant refills great conversation but not too much that it felt overwhelming, his service is what brought us back the next morning hands down. Which brings me to the real BOOM of this review. We go back the following morning (we didn't get Raymond as waiter but that's ok) and after ordering and being brought our food the manager comes over and hands us a free plate of the key lime donuts, as a "thank you" for dining with them again saying he recognized us from the morning before. We had visited Sugarcane a while back during a foodie tour and thought it was so unique and delicious (especially the Strawberry Balsamic cocktail...holy cow). This time we were looking for a brunch spot and after not being able to get in a few times due to a private party, we finally made it. The menu is for those who might be a little more adventurous but there are some more recognizable things for those who aren't feeling the pig ear pad thai (I've tried it, it's delicious but that's pushing even my limits). We did the mimosas (they have 8 different juices!) and a selection of brunch items. We had the Salmon Crispy Rice (yum!), the empanadas (yummm!!!), and the brunch cuban which I can't remember exactly what it's called (basically a Cubano served open faced with sunny side up eggs- whoda thought?). Everything was soooo good and satisfying. We were a little worried the portions would be small based on our last visit but they were generously sized and the perfect accompaniment to mimosas and just what we needed to start a long day. Service was great as well. The crispy rice is almost like a sushi roll serving wise which was interesting. It was soooo good with the perfect Asian seasoning. The breakfast Cubano was hearty with good portions of two different kinds of pork, mustard, and pickles. The addition of the eggs was something I was skeptical about but I am now a believer and will totally re-order this. The empanadas were served with a red chile sauce that I wish was a bit thicker since it was really runny but the flavor was on point (coming from NM, i do consider myself to be an expert on this front). They were perfectly seasoned and much larger than we expected. Sooooo good. There were a ton of other items on the menu that we were curious about too- can't wait to come back! We were seated quickly (11:45a on a Friday) and our server immediately came to greet us and offer suggestions (bottomless mimosas for $25... if only I was not headed back to work at 1...) I really enjoyed our meal, but the menu price of the Benedict was $20 on the menu and $22 on the bill. Not a big enough deal to say anything, but a 10% surprise surcharge was odd and made me question the integrity of the place. Prices should be what they are on the menu. I recommend this restaurant, as it's one of a few in "restaurant row" where you can get a small plate of good food, or try a few dishes for a larger meal. If you're looking for some really good breakfast on the Las Vegas strip I would highly recommend Sugarcane. I Dined in for breakfast and had the Breakfast platter. The sourdough toast and breakfast potatoes were just delicious, along with the breakfast sausage. The bloody bull was one of the most delicious Bloody Marys I've ever had, it made my morning 10 times better !! Along with the amazing food and drinks, the young lady Natasha who I assume was the manager was lovely. She was extremely friendly and inviting when she checked to see how our dine in experience was so far. She seemed to be a bit busy helping out her team and all around the restaurant which you don't see a lot of managers doing so I applaud. Sugarcane is a really charming place at the Venetian Hotel. It is in the lower level past the casinos. The lights are dimly lit as if the place just woke up. For a Christmas week, it is surprisingly calm. This place is very clean and the food will range from $15 - $22, which is not too bad considering it is on the Strip. The walls had interesting designs of people's faces and the chairs were cozy. The ceilings had fans. Sugarcane felt tropical. The servers were kind and fun to chat with. I got the breakfast platter which included sunny side up eggs, breakfast potatoes, sourdough toast, and sausage. The egg was cooked to perfection. Dip that with sourdough toast and it is WOW!
